In the early 50s my dad was a dental student in Dunedin. He used to drive taxis as a varsity vacation job. He drove a D11 Dodge, which along with the Humber Super Snipes, were the only cars in the fleet that could go up George Street in top gear. I drive a 1950 Jowett Javelin as a hobby car and can verify that cars of the era have great flexibility in top gear.

Seeing your video now in 2022 but it was of interest to me because my father had purchased a Humber Pullman with a dividing between front and rear seats it had a six cylinder o h v engine a great car it was it was a 1950s model I learned driving in it in 1963 when I was 21 years of age I even passed the test of driving license in the Humber

There is a Black Number series 111 1951 near me only 2 owners ,37k miles from new, unrestored,no rust , superb original interior ,silent side valve engine kept in a garage by a widow but she won't sell just hanging on to memories of her late husband !!!

Australian cars are getting more interest from around the World now, its always the way when a thing is gone, people only appreciate it then, which is a shame for an car enthusiast. I have quite a few different Holdens in my collection and I have the two police cars from Mad Max at 1:64 too.

I love Dinky toys too, I have this 8 wheel truck, I dont mind the reproductions either, its just nice to have it original or remake. Opening parts are my passion, but I love all diecast.
