This channel is dedicated to videos of some of my latest works and workflow sessions from fan art practice pieces to older freelance and school projects. If you are interested in seeing more when I can create additional content in my spare time feel free to like and subscribe. I plan to do more Sonic fan art in the future but quality work takes time for polish and presentation.

Awasome🔥 I wonder how did you attached that hair cuff to the groom braid ?
So there is a video documenting some of the process but I also loss some clips to gpu crashing on Bunnie. TLDR I made her pony tail from an IMM brush in Zbrush that was already braided based on a tube. I then took that tube shape and UVed it vertically. Then I just copy the finished braid and pulled the verts out by their normals (like you do for making a bake cage model). Now you have two layers of one polytail. Put your haircard texture on the outer layer. For skin weights it gets messy with the fur layers so just weight the first layer then add the hair card shell by copying the influence of the base ponytail mesh once you like how your base mesh is weighted.
Yeah it was one of the sessions I partially lost due to using MP4 on OBS and not the standard mkv. If the recording crashes thats it total data loss. I had one recovery session where Im fixing UVs and maybe one more when I am doing the skin weights. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmGnmcGeY826iKg.htmlsi=Kw5eOpgAKdJGHmC7
Another session where I am adding hair cards down to the end of the pony tail. kzread.info/dash/bejne/e2WuzMx7ltGZk9Y.htmlsi=09-flxMjglBv32ts And I lost the skin weighting session but basically I weighted the base mesh under the cards first, then transferred that to the overlapping layer. To make sure its same skin weighting. Also the UVs under the hair are trash just floaters over some generic body part like her ears because you cant really see down to the skin through the cards so we dont care about that surface.
Nice! Thanks for the explanation, appreciate it man. Yeah, weight painting the cards is just pain in the ass. I’ll take a look on your video. Keep a good work!
@andamfarohi7658 theres a cheat/tutorial on youtube for copying the local surface weights from a macro scale low poly object to micro scale too high poly objects like fur cards For Maya. You basically gotta grab the verts you want and then tell to already perfectly skinned undersurface to basically bleed the influences over like flood. But because you are vert constrained, the copy more closely bonds what you want to the surface you intend the stuff to be influenced by.
What software did you use to create shadow and animate him? I haven't seen the UI before, and I'm also trying to do a movie shadow. Good luck! 😉
So this green UI is Reallusion software Character Creator 4 (for human based avatars) and iClone 8 for animating avatars in that eco system. I added some mesh parts in Maya for spine ears tail gloves and shoes. Retextured in Substance (new parts needed proper UDIM UVs matching the human body ones already present.) In order to make their human avatars look like anthro toony characters I need Zbrush to deform the human body parts and update the facial expressions as we dont have access to any facial bone rigging in here whatsoever and these bones are hidden away never leaving the reallusion eco system but body bones can be added in maya so long as you save out your facial animation blend shapes. Soon I will be jail breaking him to add bones to the spines tails and above head ears since his human ears have been destroyed. Search back to earlier sessions to see how ugly these things start out lol. Its kinda crazy but works in the end. Doesnt have to be Maya for DCC can be blender but only Zbrush can be used for morph edits.
@@Shinjitsu_84 thx!
My bad had some typos fixed on my phone
@@Chipleyinahole No problem, CC4 is like crazy expensive and they dont sell you all the shit you need in one core package. Ask me anything you need if you are interested in it, Ill try and explain the packages I have and what I know they do, cant explain about the ones I dont own. But these Reallusion folks always have some real Gotchas in the software to steal some more money out of your pocket instead of just letting you have the whole thing in one go. Only plus is these are perpetual licenses but the avatar industry is like updating every year so you will never have the latest latest of anything as it moves down the timeline lol. I am not an animator and I dont think the app seems to really be all that animator friendly cause I can confirm it cant even handle simple mess like bone constraints, spring bones sure but aims and rotation locking non existent. You could never actually rig a mechanized character or vehicle in here because of that terrible fault. Also UV eyes animations are not possible. I will have to do all of that stuff behavior driven in unreal since its useless to mess with in Maya as the data will not carry over into this app once brought back in.
@@Shinjitsu_84 thank you so much
What’s with the face?
Nothing. My design, my choices. You want another option wait for Paramount to give you something more than what's offered here. Or feel free to design your own, the sky is the limit!
Pov Michael Jackson SEE this video
Great vid, i think the reason u not getting much views is cuz its too long, maybe cut some parts off so u get more views
I dont care about views on this stuff, its just documenting the journey and if someone asks me “how did you do this or that” Im gonna point them directly here and leave em alone. My channels not for tutorials so I dont plan to take time to edit or hand hold any part of the process. Views will happen on the fully rendered final scenes not on these day by day sessions and tests. I feel that editing and short cutting stuff only gives folks the impression that the mess is easy and anyone can do the work. Also because it takes so long to do the work Im never wasting a moment of that on session post processing lol. I get what you are saying but these arent the main focus and if people wanna follow or copy the process Ima make em work for it.
Very nice choice. 😎👍
Chest hair needs to be longer
Thats just the underlying texture dudes hair/fur cards are not in yet
Can't wait to see this fully done keep it up my dude
Shadow telling Bunnie that her show still matters... 😂 Great work, as always!
very cool✨
Looking good my man.
Omg metal sonic looks so scary, that grin and those eyes wow
Check out my other video Stardust Speed Demon to see how he evolves
Pov : Sonic movie 3 developpement
Its a fan art yes!
That just Amazing !
Удачи тебе в этом деле 👍
Thank you!
Animate maria dying lol/j
Awesome! Looks official
Thanks!
woahhh looks really good
Thank you
Hardwork that turned out amazing, good job✨️
Thanks!
I'm going to say it. wow. You've done an amazing job on these. Props to you man. Amazing artwork and skills. Good luck my friend. 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Thanks!
I think i need both metal sonic and shadow in sonic 3
I hope thats the twist. Shadows a frenemy and they gotta take down Metal. Otherwise Paramounts disrespecting the entire game origin story and just flying off the cuff from Sonic Adventure 2. Which would be disrespectful af seeing as how all of the second film was def Sonic 2 through S and K storylines.
Stardust Savior? Sounds like Jotaro Kujo.
This looks really good, but it's weird at the same time. I like it, you can make something good with this.
What am I watching?
Why does she keep repeating herself? I'm scared. 😟
Its just a test demo loop. Not a short or a complete feature.
Is there other dialogue? Who was she talking to when you were making this?
YESSS shadow sonic
It looks almost identical to the onr in the movie 👍
furless shadow is so disgusting and evil. He looks like a goblin. Other than than it looks fantastic, and I can't wait for the final product!
Cool so far! But why the belly button?
hes gonna be covered in fur you wont see it later dont worry.
@@Shinjitsu_84 Thanks for the clarification!
Awesome animation broski! I love the. Soundtrack, the visuals, effects, everyting!
Thanks, I cant actually animate so while I appreciate the comment I dont really think the actual motion in the feature is all that lol. I had to use a lot of the library of motion available in Reallusion studio stuff for CC4 and ActorCore, absolutely none of them are made for non standard toony characters, inverted knee or hindleg IK, or anything in combination with the head to body scale ratio of Sonic Movie style characters but I did what I could what time that I had. All solo dev work here so there another limitation - and I dont plan to ever deal with sharing my models to a 3rd party so I wont ever be outsourcing any animation from anyone lol. If these were my own non IP original characters, maybe, but I cant share assets I dont own.
@@Shinjitsu_84 Either way this is a really cool project! Keep it up dude.
Didnt we have a design for Shadow's Air Shoes in Sonic 3 already? Why wouldnt you based your model on just that!
Feel free to base your models on just that. Ill make mine my own style lol. The people of Game Jolt had spoken and they voted on new cyberpunk redesign so thats what Im doing. My channel is not to emulate the films its just to emulate the film render style.

@@Shinjitsu_84 Oh i get it! But at least The Inhibitor Rings are Accurate!
why is the music so hype
Woohoo!!! WILL SEE THE NEXT WORK SOON.
Cool
I think just adding a little bit of asymmetry to his face will bring it over the edge
its a huge bummer that the original files got lost, cause all of this slaps beyond hard
This should have way more views than it does because its breathtaking.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 looking fire 🔥
Sonic 3❤😊🎉
Burn it now!
This post wont age well. Bunnie turned out fine. When I get around to finishing shadow he too will be fine. Check out more on what characters look like in development to understand how these things go in real life. You can not start from one polygon and get Disney Pixar Paramount by the press of a button or the span of one work session. If you can its AI and if its AI we are not even having the same conversation lol.
@@Shinjitsu_84 Okay?
so,imma be honest, her design here is PRETTY FRICKING AMAZING,the mix between classic and modern is a nice touch, and her outfit is also pretty good,but... It suffers from some uncanny valley problems, not sure what, but it does, maybe the human teeths, still,if it were for Amy to appear in the 3rd movie and had to get a redesign, this definitely is something they should take inspiration.
Thanks. This was just a rushed art project to jump start my portfolio and escape corporate gaming. Im not thrilled with how any character turned out other than my boy Metal. Over time I will re do her character rigged and likely in a way the same model can to both classic and modern Amy. Wont be any time soon but its def on the way.
