Cool project! Glad it worked out for you. We too had to build a bridge, which was quite a bit shorter, but years later, still enjoying it, and worked AMAZING so far!
after 2 years how has the bridge held up?
Where could you buy such an item at auction, where would you look online for the type oF AUCTION to buy this? We have a similar situation poperty divided by a deep ditch that also floods buy not that wide. We need to build a bridge across that ditch as cheep as posible.
Great video! I’m surprised you were able to move that bridge around with one skid steer at each end if that bridge weighs 16K pounds.
clever idea to use the front loader to tip up the other end while rolling it into place
definitely agreed that was a pucker moment... nice job not letting it develop into a motherpucker moment
Should have tied a bowline onto that tack welded piece .Or to have shackled them ?
i did the same thing but placed rip rap on both sides of the creek so it wont wash the banks out below.
What a great idea to use a trailer for a bridge.
Great job making this happen. You’re a good neighbor asking for permission ahead of time instead of asking for forgiveness later. Appreciate the safety tips along the way. A broken line will slice thru anything in its path. How did you work out buying the old National Guard flatbed? That was a smart use of materials.
That was a cool video.
YOU MADE A CRUCIAL ERROR IN SETTING THE BLACK LOCUST POST. BLACK LOCUST IS VERY ROT RESITANT IF, AND ONLY IF, YOU REMOVE THE BARK FIRST. SCALING THE BARK WITH A CHAIN SAW IS PROBABLY THE FASTEST WAY TO REMOVE THE BARK. WITH BARK ON IT WILL ROT IN A FEW YEARS. ONE OF THE THINGS I REMEMBER FROM MY WOOD PRODUCTS ENGINEERING COURSE AT FORESTRY COLLEGE.
Bridge building 101. Measure for foundation abutments. There are some cheep abutment concepts. You could bury 2 trees but couldn’t bury T iron or a mold for concrete. Cheep abutments eventually wash.
Hart work paid at the END
Old whispering Joe! The project was interesting and would have been even more enjoyable if not havingvto strain to hear you. If you ever make another video...please speak up!
