If we do sign another keeper the one from Brighton would be my choice. During the close season when there aren't any matches to report on the rumour mills often go into overdrive. A couple of seasons ago Max Aarons at Norwich was supposedly linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The odds of two of Europe's biggest clubs being interested in signing a player from a Championship club are slim but a lot of Norwich KZreadrs who should have known better fuelled these rumours. Aarons ended up being transferred to Bournemouth.
Agree Geoff - I try not to engage in spreading the rumours, I just like to tell people my opinion on players and why I’d like to see them at town, I try to be as honest as I can in telling people that I don’t actually know if there is any truth in the rumours. As Mark Ashton said last year, people revealing things that they consider to be an “inside scoop” can only hurt the club.
Down to earth, and informative. Keep it up.
Many thanks for your kind comment! 😃
Another interesting and informative video COYB
I love Newcastle away, always make a weekend of it. Welcoming fan base, both with a huge love for Bobby Robson. Great away day.
Serini was shocking
I 💯 agree that FFP rules should exist however what I don't like about them is how they restrict how much a newly promoted club to the prem can spend given the enormous cost of players transfer fees and enormous wages nowadays that need to be paid in order to stay up 💙🚜
That's probably all the average fan needs to know about FFP. I like the backdrop too.
Thankyou Geoff - funnily enough I thought back to your feedback a couple of weeks ago and hoped you would like it!
@@harveylewisbell You're welcome. Your channel's starting to grow and you'll probably get a lot more subscribers when the season starts.
Could certainly be an exciting transfer window!
Thanks Harvey for the explanation. Still a bit confusing for a simple Kiwi 🥝, but understand it a little better
My club Newcastle United can’t even spend that much money
From a Newcastle United fan I hope you avoid relegation
It be so ipswich to get results against Liverpool or Manchester City then lose to Fulham but we are in premier league 🚜🚜🚜🔵⚪️
From a Newcastle United fan I’m looking forward to playing you lot as Bobby Robson was at our clubs
Cant beliebve yiu havent got bewcastle ob this list
I would mate but just dreading the stairs in the away end 😂
Ipswich 2 Liverpool 1 Man.city 1 Ipswich 1 Ipswich 2 Fulham 0 Up the town 👍
What a start that would be Karl!
Our first game last season was Sunderland away which I thought was going to be a tough game, but we won and I think we can all agree that Town had a pretty good season! Liverpool and Manchester City will probably finish in the top 4 so getting an early taste of what it's like to play the leading clubs in the PL is probably going to be helpful. Next season will be challenging and it might be best to adopt a long-term view, looking upon the first season in the PL as establishing our presence in the division, in a similar manner to Brighton.
That’s certainly the aim I think Geoff, I am just looking forward to the ride personally, que sera sera.

Would be a very good season in my opinion Charlie!
Nine points by the end of August. Seriously though, this is what the board, McKenna and his team and the squad have worked so hard for. Bring it on!
Good luck Ipswich.
Lists like this are very subjective and everyone will have their own preferences. That being said I agree with you about Brighton. They have set the standard for getting promoted to the PL and becoming an established PL club. Everton would be an interesting fixture because the club will be at a brand new stadium. Goodison seemed to have a raw atmosphere that was lacking in many PL stadiums. The beauty of the West Ham away fixture is the ease of getting to the stadium. You got your dates wrong about the Manchester United games. I'm an old git who can remember the 6-0 win in 1979-80 at Portman Road. The 9-0 defeat at Old Trafford was in a season when we were dire. If you're interested in old football matches the Manchester United v Ipswich game in 1972 can be found on KZread. It was the season when Ipswich started to spend most seasons near the top of the table. A certain Kevin Beattie made his debut in this match, which Town won!
We didn’t beat man Utd 6-0 in the season then beat us 9-0!!… that we n was in the 70s!!
I'm very looking forward to go down to Portman road as a spurs fan I really hope your Stay up
Fair play jack, as an Ipswich fan I’ve worked in north London for 9 years & white hart lane in the 90s was a special place to go. All my mates are spurs fans & a great bunch of lads they are.
I was there when spurs got that last second winner against ijax and that has to My favourite moment with the mighty yids
Good morning Harvey.. I want man.city away frist...day of season....come on up the town....up 👍
Hi Karl, You were very close with your wish for Man City away first lol
10 wins and 10 draws will keep us up, just need to be able to beat the teams around us which is easier said than done but I believe we can and will we will stay up 💯💙🚜
I think the club, McKenna and the coaching staff, and the squad will be prepared for next season. Becoming an established PL club will take two or three seasons.
Harvey this channel is something DIFFERENT for town fans. I really think it will succeed as long as you don’t give up and keep uploading, and keep doing your own thing
Thanks so much Cherelle for your lovely comment, I’m happy your enjoying my content and I plan to keep on delivering it so long as there is a demand for it! 😃
our scouts must have got mixed up and looked at wrong midfielder at MK when Scott Fraser joined. Sure we should have spotted O’Riley 🚜
Keep up the good work harvey . Always intriguing to listen to your your video post's. Upatowen 💙 regards des
Thanks des, hope you’re well and so happy you are enjoying my stuff!
I hate the phrase ‘the best thing that could happen to us is being relegated’. However, in this instance it was - just not how people expected the way it was to go.
I don't really remember Paul Cook at Ipswich Town. I associate him more with Wigan Athletic.
Paul Cook.... It feels like years since he was at ITFC. So much has changed in such a short time. An indication of how the game has changed is the number of signings he made in that summer, whereas Robson signed just 13 players the entire time he was at Ipswich.
I think wes burns long hair was our lucky charm 😔
League one to premiership thank you kieran mckenna Ipswich Town premiership pride of anglia blue army 💙
Glad I found your content
Keep up the good work harvey, enjoy your videos mate. Your old work colleague from 0776 😊
Thankyou Des! Hope you’re keeping well, I remember our chats about Ipswich and now look at us in the Premier League!
Sarmiento on loan and bring back Hutchinson on loan, che adams on a free, Dan James,
Che Adam’s looked like a good player to bring in he’d fit your system he’s got pace he scored goals he’s free
Mings wasn't captian before his injury
He was villas captain
@@harveylewisbell Mcginn has been captain for the past 2 seasons
Same with Sheffield Wednesday if we had stayed up at derby we would have kept many of the players who didn’t have the heart and didn’t put play for the shirt, relegation meant we had to rebuild and things are looking better now
No Leeds players please Cost too much and can they cope under pressure? Doesn't look like it does it? The idea of Smith Rowe suggested looks great I like Chair at QPR (ripped Leeds defence to shreds) Ballard of Sunderland a good target too perhaps? But in Keiron we trust Knows more than any of us!!
My Palace won't finish 7th I think 9th or 8th at a push seems realistic I think..!
Well you know that saying “you have to fall before you fly”, well the last 5-6 years sums it up for us! Many fans didn’t want to admit it but we needed to go down to make our fans fall in love with the club again. It’s all thanks to McKenna, Mark Ashton and Gamechanger 20! We’ve had a turbulent past but now the future is bright and it’s blue & white! 🚜💙🤍
Way too soft on Paul Lambert - awful manager and disingenuous man.
Making predictions this early is a mug's game. So all I will say is that Newcastle will not finish above Liverpool! An absurd prediction. Oh, and yes Top 4 for Liverpool....but 6th at best for Newcastle. That's it. Not saying any more at this point!
Pompey fan hear : Congratulations Ipswich on your 2nd Successful promotion & to play in the premiership Good luck & hopefully Pompey can follow your success , please beat the Scum---- 😅
Thankyou mate - for some reason, I had a bit of bitterness towards pompey when we were in league one. I don’t really know why but when I visited Fratton Park for the first time they were a really good bunch of supporters and the fist to congratulate us for going up. A lot of respect from one proper club for another, here’s to hoping we play you in the premier league 26/26 season!
Thanks and good luck in the championship. I hope you beat another certain scummy team for us!
Great video ,look forward to the next one.
If the takeover didn't happen, we would be still in league one, challenging, but still there. Evans wouldn't have coughed up more money to help us excel. Gamechanger saved us years of heartache
Thought-provoking. Paul Hurst should have stayed with Shrewsbury for another season at least. Using relegation as an opportunity to reset/rebuild or whatever you want to call it is a risk. Last season there were several "big clubs" stuck in League One: Portsmouth, Derby, Bolton, Charlton are a few examples. There are plenty of clubs in the Championship and League One with illustrious histories that do little more than hover around mid-table and achieve nothing. Ipswich Town was one of them for several years. Now the club has a future once again.
Interesting perspective, good video HB
Great video 👏👏
Marcus Evans imo should have sold the club back in 2016/17 season after a couple of failed promotion pushes that it was clear he wasn't going to invest much into the club at all. I think if this had happened a new owner with greater ambition could have come in and the inevitable relegation under Evans could have been avoided 💙🚜
I'll take Arsenal at 1st
