Hoop Hierarchy

Welcome to the channel! Over my life, I have developed a passion for diving deep into the stats, history, and play styles of various basketball players and teams, and in my opinion no better way to get those ideas out there than through rankings and tier lists, and individual player analysis!

I tend to discuss detailed breakdowns of individual players' strengths and weaknesses, their historical achievements, and their current performance on the court, to determine where they rank in the list in question.

The tier lists are carefully crafted to reflect the latest trends and developments in the league, and I always stay up to date with the latest news and analysis.

Whether you're a basketball history fan, or someone who wants to learn and talk about the modern game, this channel will have content for you. Subscribe for regular basketball ranking content!

disagree... A PG who can't shoot with below average D... It's a no no for me. TP would not work in 2024 NBA. Sure if he magically become an average shooter (36.6% is the average 3P% in the NBA) he'll be good... But it's a gamble... Shooting 3P is not about individual scoring but about gravity. I don't care if he can finish and pass. If his Defender don't have to stick on him at the perimeter, the paint will be clog.

Yeah, a bit. Still find him incredibly talented but knee injuries are always concerning, especially at his age. Probably wouldn’t take him over Sheppard at this point, even if I think in a vacuum he’s more talented overall

@@hoophierarchy He is really talented. I believe his playmaking ability will still be there, the only thing I worry about is his finishing will take a hit. I work in sports medicine and seen a lot of ACL injuries. Some people bounce back and get back to where they are at, others have issues with their body rejecting the correct, and others have issues with their non torn knee as they rely on it more. I think he is young enough and will have the right doctors to be ok but you can never tell.

Landry Fields, I know you are reading some of these messages. Please make up for past mistakes made by the Hawks on draft day and select Alex Sarr! He runs the floor like Dominique Wilkins and reminds me a little of Giannis. The kid will get bigger and stronger in the next couple years and has quick feet and is a defensive force. His fade away jumper is getting better and better. Draft Sarr please! The kid will be an All-Star in two years.

Jimmy Butler… same height, not an elite shooter, lockdown defender, great finisher, leader, team first, ultra competitive… Much like Jimmy, Stephon Castle plays the game with an inherent situational awareness. This is evident in his ability to catch defenders off guard, often times creating contact that results in a foul call or an easy pass to a wide open teammate. The foot work in the paint is very good, along with the ability to spin into positive space. If Castle lands on a team with a coaching staff to nurture his strengths and improve on his weaknesses, he will be a star. Ps I do not think he is a point guard, doesn’t mean he can’t play PG at a high level. I think he would find more success at SG.

i feel like he's going to be a Jrue Holiday type in the Pro's. Jrue is not an elite point gaurd but, he has the skill set to be an effective one he plays the game the right way and is more effective as a PG when he has perimeter players making the plays and working off of them as a secondary playmaker although still being the " lead gaurd" position. Spurs decent perimeter playmakers like Vassel and hopefully Sochan takes a leap. Wemby is also gonna have the ball a lot so having a ball dominant PG will be counter intuitive. Castle just needs to focus on building his shot.

Just can’t get over the fact that how people are still using the “If Kawhi can fix his shooting anyone can”logic in 2024… Shooting touch like all stuff requires talent to do so,that’s why there’s only one Steph Curry, one Klay Thompson. I think that if you can guarantee a Dejounte Murray without the attitude you’re looking at a top 3 pick at least, but there’s no guarantee he ever becomes that dynamic of an offensive player, or that he’ll avoid attitude issues. Almost every lottery prospect has some degree of risk this year

@@VictorWembanyamaSpurs I agree Rob would make our perimeter defense even more lackluster, but you have to consider his upside as a self creator and shooter is way higher than Tre's. Castle looks to be a great defender yes, but he hasnt shown any flashes of being a good shot/advantage creator to the level i've seen in Dilingham, and he doesnt pop as an athlete to me, and our spacing will suffer even worse than it did last year. I'd be surprised if he doesn't go in the lottery. Funny how people point out he has limited upside when I think he has more upside than anyone else in this draft. The upside being you can potentially get a 7'3.25" giant who can play competent defense while being skilled enough offensively that no one could guard him. It's actually weird how he's perceived. I mean Jokic is slower and shorter yet he get's no grief over his lack of defense. Another comparison would be Yao Ming
