Hoop Hierarchy

Hoop Hierarchy

Welcome to the channel! Over my life, I have developed a passion for diving deep into the stats, history, and play styles of various basketball players and teams, and in my opinion no better way to get those ideas out there than through rankings and tier lists, and individual player analysis!

I tend to discuss detailed breakdowns of individual players' strengths and weaknesses, their historical achievements, and their current performance on the court, to determine where they rank in the list in question.

The tier lists are carefully crafted to reflect the latest trends and developments in the league, and I always stay up to date with the latest news and analysis.

Whether you're a basketball history fan, or someone who wants to learn and talk about the modern game, this channel will have content for you. Subscribe for regular basketball ranking content!

He got hurt and adapted to a new role. Rehurt himself and still got back into the NBA. Dude was a monster and it's a WHAT IF moment if he didn't get hurt and ended up with the Warriors.

The more I see of him play and the more he reminds me of Davion Mitchell, just bigger and taller. He's probably underrated offensively, he's very good at drawing fouls and he should get to the line more in the NBA, with improved handles and a better use of his speed he'll be able to create more space and should be a much improved finisher. With more free throws attempts a night and with enough 3pt reps in games consistently I have no doubt that he'll knock down over 30% of them very early, he shot 72% during the the 3pt shooting star drill during the combine and that was one of the reasons for the Spurs drafting him. Gregg Popovich will tell him to let it fly whenever he's open and his teammates will also encourage him to shoot it, we've seen the shooting improvements when Spurs players had the green light. He was also a much improved shooter during the tournament, had other flashes during the season, without the knee injury and if asked to shoot more you can only wonder where his shot could have gotten. Most of his performances also came in the second part of the season, his stats don't tell the full sotry. He looked very mature on the court and he didn't look like a freshman when he was handling the ball and directing the offense, he was a calming presence for Uconn when he was either running plays or making something out of what could have been a bad possession if he didn't have the ball. Always aware of the clock, of the game situation which is rare for a player of his age, sees mismatches and knows where to get the ball. He had some spot up contested and almost sped up jumpers that looked clean, all net and that will translate well in the nba, when he's in rythm and confident he looks like a guy that you don't want to leave open, there's also much to like about the floater and about how he gets to his spots. Most of his issues offensively came from an hesitation to take shots, even in the midrange he wasn't encouraged to expend anything there or to get many attemps, Uconn shot very few midrange jumpers and that wasn't part of their philosophy. I have no issue seeing him as a threat from anywhere on the court in the NBA, in two to three years if he becomes more agressive. When he's looking to score you can feel that he can take over games.

He has a solid looking form, he has high iq and doesn't take dumb shots. I don't know if he'll be starter level talent but he can definitely be a solid back up PG if he works on his defensive iq he can be a good 3 and d guard

I’m big on his upside. He needs better footwork. He could end up like Shaq in my mind. If I’m the team I book him for a week or two with Hakeem. If it all takes he will be a major problem. I fully realize the league has moved on from bigs unless you’re Victor but I see something in Zach.

Dude this is starting to feel like it was just meant to be. Idk how many people know this but Dalton's nickname from his teammates at TN was "The White Mamba." The great Kobe "The Black Mamba" Bryant (R.I.P) only played for the Lakers. And no I'm not saying he's gonna be Kobe. He falls all the way to 17th to a team that has a first time coach who happens to have been Born in Cookeville TN. Idk? Just sayin. Let's go D.K and let's go Lakers!!!!!

Defense is just effort! He is very young and his body will fill out. Mike Conley has been a top player for years and is a shorter player also. He also will have Kat and Ant to take the pressure off.

As long as players are expected to come in the league and create their own shot, not play an organized half court sets, watch the point guard dribble the length of the floor and force up a shot while not looking at his teammates, not seeking any offensive boards, jacking up 3-pointers from the locker room, celebrating after a dunk and your team is 30 points down with 50 seconds to go, he has an excellent chance to be great!!! I've been a Bull's fan for longer than most, since 1966, but I no longer watch the NBA. The game is an absolute travesty. The Bull's have always been my team and will always be my team, but the game has taken a sad turn.
