Melissa Manchester

Melissa Manchester

The Official KZread account of Melissa Manchester.

Singer-songwriter Melissa Manchester’s career is remarkable not only for its longevity and accomplishments, but for its versatility. Following her stint as a founding member of Bette Midler’s Harlettes, Manchester’s tremendously successful solo career brought her critical and commercial acclaim. She has recorded twentyone albums across her career, releasing her most recent album, The Fellas.

I’ve always wanted to to pay tribute to some of the equally great male singers - Frank, Tony, Nat, Johnny and several others. So, here it is - at long last - through a gift made possible by Dean Bob Slack of Citrus College and their fantastic Blue Note Orchestra. With The Fellas, Melissa celebrates not only 40 years as a GRAMMY-winning performer and songwriter, but a renewed independence and vitality. The album features special guest Barry Manilow.

I believe he initially wanted her for the original in the 70s. However, she wasn't available, so he went with Stevie Nicks. Hellava second choice....

In America we do not live in a democracy, we live in a constitutional republic. There is a distinct difference, and words matter in real life just as they do in song.

Midnight Blue is just one of about 5 beautiful songs Melissa Manchester . This song takes me back to the days at our summer retreat v when I was a kid and we just had radio and this was a hit in those Summer days of the mid to Late 70s . Beautiful memories of my parents too !! Miss you mom and dad 😢❤😊

Yeah I’ve taken a stand and it is based on reality. But people don’t want to hear the truth ( at least most don’t) that way they can rationalize away their responsibility and accountability in life and blame someone else. If your opinion is not based on facts and if you do your homework and study to find out what the historical facts are and they don’t match up to the propaganda being shoved down your throat 24/7 and or whatever so and so says is wrong tell them the truth. You can never go wrong with that.

Possibly the greatest love ballad ever produced. Melissa's full and rich voice delivers the emotional intensity of the words written by Carol Bayer Sager. This amazing gem is played at weddings and conversely when a spouse is on the verge of losing their spouse to passing. These powerful lyrics and dynamic delivery make this song perfect. She attacks the bridge of the song like a true professional and unloads the emotional intensity of the song. This 2022 remake is nothing short of amazing. I vividly remember seeing Melissa on stage at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles in the 1980s, what a concert that was. I have been a fan of hers from the beginning, thank you Melissa for all of those amazing songs.

The piano at the beginning was enough to make me tear up. In part from remembering the original, but mostly in anticipation of hearing this new version. I just listened to 4 of her new recordings and she has maintained the beauty of her voice and somehow has added even more meaning and relatabiliy.to her songs. I am grateful that her duet with Dolly came up in my recommendations.

Wow, what a performance! I was researching the song itself, written in 1934. I saw that it had so many performances, so I wondered who was the most recent, and Melissa Manchester is the last one. I love the videography and the choreography. Great rendition of this classic, thank you
