I miss those times where devs would just release things without telling us anything about it, curiosity and speculation can be one of the best marketing strategies, it thought they were going back this way when they mentioned mysteries, at least in my opinion what they call mysteries should be called puzzles instead, mysteries in fact are something more like: leave a set of clues, all at once, that doesn't need to be unlocked by one another, hidden (not in plain sight) behind not so common, known, or obvious game mechanics, simply don't say a single word about it, now, if you should give a cinematic or in game "thing" (like a location with elements that tell straight up what everything was about) or leave the conclusion open for speculation, is up to you, but be a good dev, and just pretend it isn't there, even when people find it out

I remember watching Reapers Hideout being built with my first group of friends, I brought up that the island was looking a bit different in the first stages, and they all clued in and we started to watch the island grow over time. It was spectacular in a way.

An idea that I think would be really cool and amazing is one where in SOT if you have enough gold you could buy a personal island where us pirates could store all our caption ships so we could show them off to friend or just see all your ships together in a fleet also we could customize the island itself and a home on the island where we could show off different weapons,tools,pets,maybe outfits,ship decor and trinkets, etc. We could use gold to buy different building materials that like the buildings that around could be made of so we could change what it looks likes maybe more or less buildings or where we could have huts or you know really anything you see in the SOT you could use/have in your island if you had enough gold to buy it all and i also think all of this stuff should cost a lot and be almost like end game rewards but i think getting the island itself should be not as much or maybe you get like a small starter island with a starter hut and you can buy and upgrade from there or pick a smaller island if you so wanted. I am just thinking and typing at the same time so i don't know if i really made sense or if this seems like a good idea or not but if you do this whole thing and get this far could you tell me your thoughts and what you would like too see or not see if something like this was put into the game. I'll probably post this comment in a few other places (using copy and paste) so more people can see it and talk about it and if people like the idea enough maybe Rare will hear about it. But yea if you have any ideas for what I thought or any feedback let me know. Personally I would love something like this. plus i have so many pets i would love to see them all running around together lol.

For years people in the forums have crusaded against a PvE mode because it would "kill the game" as if having a shallow pool kills swimming or something. Most people want to play the multiplayer PvPvE part, they just don't want to get pushed into the deep end without instructions, and those that do not want to do PvPvE would''ve never played it in the first place so it's not like we are loosing players, if anything we are gaining players because we offer a safe space for them to test stuff out. Also doing tall tales without gettin accosted is kinda nice, it's not like you get money on them anyway.

I hope you can use the Burning Blade in the mode where there are no other ships except for skeleton-ships. I do not like this tryharding at all. Just naval combat and pirat-things. Besides, I have more than enough gold. Sailing around, knowing that there can be NO tryhards who take over the ship would be so nice. Doing missions with the ship, fighting skeletons ships and so on. It is just my oppinion of course but this could be a reason why I and my friends could start Sea of Thieves again. We played everything that we could but after playing that one time the fun was over. No progression and no nothing. Cosmetics is a way of progression but...that´s not it if you think about it. It is cool but...yeah, you know. I know SOT is about writing your own story and so on but you can not upgrade your ship or another form of progression. Having an island where you have to spend gold to make it bigger which gives you income and so on for example. Build a farm or something like that and you can harvest and sell it, would be very cool. This game has so much potential in my opinion, And I know that Rare wants to have it as fair as possible...but 4 pro player vs 1 sloop with one player is not failr as well. I mean...idk. But having an upgraded ship (Burning Blade) in the safe ocean and doing missions sounds like fun for another few hours. So I would be definitely down to play it. Have a nice day to all ^^

So they had adventures for it to start off. Then characters showing up in athena's with updating dialog. Plus it was linked to the skull of siren song quest. Only to say fuck it and just finish it off screen? What the hell. What was even the point then? I was looking forward to that.

I'd love to see how this all plays out, but I definitely need Rare/Microsoft to crank out a fix for ping spike problems. Hopefully that comes soon because I've been really loving playing the game again but the ping spikes are genuinely so much worse than I've ever had before and it makes it really unplayable when I can't walk in a straight line for more than 3 seconds without getting warped and rubber banded around my ship/into the ocean.

I'm only worried about two things: 1. Why the hell isn't anything happening in The Devils Roar? Well, supposedly this is like the place where Ashen Dragon followed, the place where Flameheart was buried, he has a whole base or tomb there. This location literally personifies Flameheart. 2. Why the hell did Tasha still have the Burning Blade? Seriously, the Sword of Souls was presented as a relic of great power that the Pirate Lord initially hid even from Athena, and then LeChuck stole it and tempered it with the power of Flameheart. As part of Tall Tale (Monkey Island), the blade was shown as an artifact that can harm even the Pirate Lord. So why does Tasha still have it? Her orb has already been stolen, and with this blade Flameheart will become a real threat not only to Sea of Thieves, but also to the world beyond the veil.

I'm not so certain that the appearance in the tavern is a hint about where Umbra will move. It may just he a hint that Port Merick is a regular haunt because it's the closest tavern. She could hide in Mermaid's Hideaway where we found Duke hiding during one of the changes leading up to The Heart of Fire. There's also huts on a few nearby islands that she could take over and rebuild. We also need a reason to explore the Roar again. I could see the devs moving her out there. She could set up shop in a cave on an island.

I think it's a shame that the preview event was necessary. The community was losing faith in Rare's statements that 'more significant content is coming!' And they really needed to start showing instead of just telling us all the time in order to build up faith in them again. Still, it's sad not to have anything to speculate about. No mysteries. No exploration to figure it out. Just... waiting for it to happen. It's especially a shame, since all these hints with the reaper birds, dig sites, tarot cards, and maps are really well done! If we didn't know already, the community would be losing their minds trying to figure this out!
