Great video. Does anyone know the approximate cost of Uber from EDI to Edinburgh city center?
You’re my favorite Edinburgh vlogger. Thank you for sharing your information of your beautiful place.
Awww, thank you so much for your lovely comment!
I arrived today in Edinburgh airport. An absolute affront to Scotland. The most untidy, scruffy embarrassment of an airport in Europe.
"You ll have had your tea" this phrase i learned today LOL.................thanx
Thank you for the video. I'm going to grassmarket/oldtown from the airport by the 100, what is the best/nearest stop should i get? appreciate for your suggestions
You’re welcome! You could get off at either Princes Street or Waverley Bridge to get to Grassmarket or Old Town - they get you within a 10-15 minute walk. Hope this helps!
@@OneJourneyAway Hi A-A...noted, thank you for your reply, God bless you.
Thanks for another helpful video. Hope all well with you.
What a pity newcomer Bright Bus was not mentioned in the updated video.

This is simply spectacular and you both deserved it! ❤
Only thing I am not sure about is how to catch a bus to go to Stirling or other small towns from Edinburgh but it sounds like I can get these type tickets at Waverly station which is close to where we are staying.
Yes, many small towns outside Edinburgh have train stations, so you can catch the train at Waverley. The bus station is also close by if there are no trains to where you’d like to go!
We are traveling there in October, very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Is thete a train from dublin to edinburgh?
Very helpful video! Can I take my luggage with me? (on the bus and tram) Do you know if I can get off at Waverley station? Thank you
Thank you for your comment! Yes, you can certainly take your luggage with you on the bus or tram. For Waverley, you can get off at the last stop if taking the 100 bus or St Andrew Square if taking the tram. Hope this helps!
@@OneJourneyAway Thank you!! I appreciate the quick reply 🥰
Do you have any vids discussing purchasing tickets? Sorry if I overlooked it... love your channel, thanks!
What kind of tickets do you mean? If public transportation, we have a video about how to get from Edinburgh Airport to the city centre (kzread.info/dash/bejne/fIGe1JehgZvKntY.htmlfeature=shared) and we also have a video about how to get around Edinburgh (kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3p2q9pqgs3Iorw.htmlfeature=shared). Hope this helps and thanks for your lovely comment!
@@OneJourneyAway yeah that was a pretty vague question. I was referring to buying tickets to things like Edinburgh Castle, etc. Got it all figured out though, seriously enjoy your channel, thank you!
Amazing information!
Thank you so much!
Good to know about this meal deals. Thank you for telling us.
Your video is such a great help in planning my trip to Edinburg. Thank you very much for sharing this info. I'm a new subscriber!
That’s amazing to hear! Glad it was helpful!
Hi, can you tell me how to allocate campervan sites and toilets, and supplies etc.
Very good video, question in order to pay with credit card it has to be a contactless or a regular card works?? thank you.
Thank you! On the bus, if paying by card, it does need to be Contactless as there are no card machines. If paying for the tram at a ticket machine, then you can pay by a regular card. Hope this helps!
@@OneJourneyAway Thank you!!!!
Good explanation of my birth and home town ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
How long is the open return valid for?
As far as we know, there is no maximum number of days between two rides. If paying by Contactless, you should get a paper ticket from the driver, so just be sure not to lose that! Hope this helps!
Ooh so its not possible to see it in November? I'm going to Scotland this year and was expecting to see it
No unfortunately, the Jacobite is seasonal and doesn’t operate in November!
Your channel singlehandedly made my trip so much easier. Legend!
Wow, that’s amazing to hear! Glad we were able to help!
Based on the google reviews, the Edinburgh airport seems to be rather awful. Do you have any suggestion if I want to fly out from Edinburgh to Oslo? e.g. how early should i get to the airport before my flight?
Edinburgh Airport is alright - it’s a pretty small airport so you shouldn’t get lost or anything! To Oslo, allow about 2 hours and you should be okay!
One very big tip- remember you are in Scotland not England
Helpful, concise advice. Might be worthwhile re TRAM , to say the FINAL stop is at Newhaven (on the shore in Leith), NOT the cith centre, but if going only to the centre, get off at Princes street stop, or St. Andrew Square or Picardy Place.
Thanks for your comment! As this video was published in November 2022 and the extended tram line didn’t open until June 2023, the information about the tram was accurate at the time of recording.
Love love this! Instead of showing great places to visit, your video is answering all the questions about the basic things before even planning an itinerary. It will be great also if you include on transportation practical information like map of the train, where to get the card etc
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! We have a few other videos about how to get around Edinburgh (kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3p2q9pqgs3Iorw.htmlfeature=shared) and how to get from the airport to the city centre (kzread.info/dash/bejne/a3p2q9pqgs3Iorw.htmlfeature=shared), which you may find helpful!
“Dream holiday to Scotland” 😂
I’d rather just use Uber or walk.
Gracias ..Nice video
Please note tesco is goated for meal deals
She mentioned tesco doing that but what does “goated” mean?
Great advice which I will definitely use this fall during my trip to the UK. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, I'll be reahing Manchester Airport. Any suggestions on how to reach Edinbrugh Old town?
Very informative video! Can you also pls suggest some reliable car rental service provider in Edinburgh. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video! We have only used Arnold Clark in the past in Edinburgh and have never had any problems with them. Hope this helps!
@@OneJourneyAway thanks a lot.
Thanks to your video I will definitely make it a stop
I would recommend the tram ❤
Very helpful and lovely video! I have two questions. - If I get a day ticket in paper form? How do I use it for multiple trips? - Can I pay for two day tickets with one contactless credit card?
Thank you for your lovely comment! For a paper day ticket, just keep your ticket with you and present it to the driver every time you hop on a bus. And yes, you just need to first tell the driver that you'd like two adult/child day tickets and you can tap your card when the driver tells you to. Hope this helps!
@@OneJourneyAway Thank you so much. Super helpful!!
Just one long lecture showing nothing
Thank you! Answered a lot of our questions about our upcoming trip. :)
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your trip when it comes!
So in simple words, for a group of three, four people it makes sense to take a taxi. Thx a lot.
No because the taxi fares she gave (up to £35) are one way, the Bus and tram prices are return.
No mention of any tartan shops, which is one the main reasons I want to go there
Heading to EDI next week. Thank you for making this video!
You’re welcome, Jason! Hope you enjoy Edinburgh when the time comes!
went on the blog, couldn't find anything about local places to shop
Hi Theresa, if you click on the link to the blog post in the description of the video, it’s #7 on that post. Hope this helps!
I was just wondering how we would get from the airport. Thank you! LOVE those black taxis
You’re welcome! The black cabs are iconic, aren’t they?
Super helpful video!! Thank you. Didn't realize I might need a GB adapter. In fact, didn't know alot of this. Looking forward to bringing my son for a trip soon to the land of his ancestors.
Glad you found the video helpful! Hope you enjoy Scotland when the time comes!
Just when I was starting to thing there canny be any vloggers, all doing the same thing lol up to 50 now lol
The return ticket is valid for how long/days please?
As far as we know, there is no maximum number of days between two rides. If paying by Contactless, you should get a paper ticket from the driver, so just be sure not to lose that! Hope this helps!
Hey Ashley and Arek, great channel! Question, is it worth taking a hop-on/hop-off bus tour? Or just get the Lothian day ticket with unlimited journeys? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your kind words, Andres! That’s a great question, and we’d say it really depends on your preferences. The hop-on/off bus tours are definitely more convenient if you want to easily hit all of the major attractions, especially if you don’t have a ton of time. Plus, they take you right to the entrance of attractions (except for the castle!), which a normal Lothian bus might not. (For example, a normal Lothian bus will get you about a 5-minute walk away from Dynamic Earth. And the hop-on/off bus will get you as close to the castle as they can - a bit closer than a Lothian bus would.) And the hop-on/off tickets also offer discounts to some attractions if you’re keen to visit a lot. But if there are only a few key attractions that you want to see, then probably the normal Lothian buses would be better. Hope this helps!
can you recommend a cheap but safe place for female solo traveler in edinburgh close to city centre?
We don’t recommend accommodation unfortunately as we live in Edinburgh so have not tried most places ourselves. If it helps, when I (Ashley) first moved here (albeit 8 years ago), I stayed at Castle Rock Hostel for a while until I sorted out a flat.
Hi, can you share some information about one day bus tours of Edinburgh and highlands.
There are a variety of companies that run tours from Edinburgh to the Highlands, including Rabbie’s, Highland Experience, and Timberbush, among others. Hope this helps!
