Sadly, Indian tribes themselves also determine who is Indian by continuing the blood quantum requirements.

Dr. Dibley's explanation of hermeneutic phenomenology was unexpected when she came to our class to introduce us to this concept, and she delivered it with gusto. She made it quite simple for us to understand what she was saying. Thank you very much. The book is fantastic and well worth the money you will spend on it.

I am a Critical care Nurse. I've been nursing at a local major hospital for 20 yrs, nursing for 36 yrs total.Over the years,I have dealt with many natives from local and surrounding tribes. Only until recently was cultural diversity included in our careplanning and teaching for care givers . There still is a Hugh gap between tribes, reservations and hospitals. Nothing flows...I've also have worked in our Tribal health care system, and have to say that there is also resilience to extend ourselves for better resources and learning..Much of the decisions are also made by those who know little to nothing of structural insights of a hospital and hc. Covid was a rude awakening to how poor our systems are functioning in tribal nations.Healthcare is a mammoth task, for those who work our clinics and hospitals there needs to be the understanding as well that we need to change our systems with regulatory updates, especially in areas of social services. These services at our Tribal levels need to include these emotional and historical assessment tools for behavioral health, before seeking help from outside sources. Better communication and rapport thru health systems. Until we too extend ourselves,I think we will never really realize that some hospitals in major cities are really trying to include the Indian, and developing strategies for better outcomes for everyone. Including the Indian. Our local news every night reports on murdered indigenous women...and progress is difficult bc we are sovereign and outside sources aren't allowed investigations on tribes..so I think it's a two sided coin. Unfortunate for the Native ,it definitely is hard to live a traditional and western lifestyle. As a bedside Nurse, expectations are demanding , but people are willing to listen. It was never an easy trasition to becoming a Neonatal critical care nurse. I've never met a Strong person with an easy past.

Thank you all nurses and UBSON for your dedication to your craft! While I might not be getting into UBSON right now (due to being waitlisted), it’s nurses everywhere that give me the motivation to keep moving forward and truly keep fighting for what I believe in; becoming a nurse! This pandemic has been hard on all of us, but we’re all getting through it together. It’s healthcare professionals like you that continue to save lives, and even my own life with my new chronic medical issues that appeared in March of this year! From aspiring nurses like myself, and from everyone around the globe, we say thank you! Without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today! Here’s to a brighter future and the hopeful end of this pandemic! With love, Sarah Farrell UB Public Health Major

Many thanks Asst Dean Moss for teaching the truth. Excellent, knowledgable & devastating presentation & exposition of historical trauma. So many parallels to the experiences of Indigenous peoples here in Australia. Honoured to have stumbled across this, because as you said, this vital information is deliberately left out of all levels of education, media and general social awareness and consciousness. Blessings to you, your family, your tribe and on your life's work.

So I guess.........keep keep sharing the news everywhere even on fb about Indian News! This is very nice video for the younger Highschool generations. Hello from the evergreen state. Seattle, WA.-------By the way I guess you are very much more informed than most so not using the term people instead of Indians makes sense. I do think that it is very unfair about they (people/Indians and some of there children)that they get the same funding as convicts(Federal prisioners). Again this is still contradictory because people who commit crimes shouldn't be classified as guilty or innocent by there color. And yes some Indian folk would still let certain people go because of there ethnicitiy at first site or what they might of written on paper to represent who they are. Most people never assume trauma.........but they might of gone thru that and are maybe worried to get back home to make sure IF they have someone at home that they won't go thru trauma. So these same experiences are not lived by family members living thru these years because they do grow in the same home and at the same time just as a younger aged people makes it harder later in life to have healthy experiences that don't produce trauma. I am generalizing. Yes This is about Indians.
