@@FestoNorthAmerica Done! Thank you.
Really great unboxing and clear explanation! Thanks Tom!
I'm having a problem when xf1 isn't recognizing or responding to python. I have the drive set to mudbus tcp, telegram 111 and configured my ethernet port to work with the ip address I have set for the port.
I'm using a cmmt-as-cs-11a-p3-mp-s1
It’s important that you Restart the CMMT drive after setting the XF1 port to Modbus. Once this is done, you should get online with the drive once again with Festo Automation Suite and confirm you are in Modbus TCP mode and that the Active network settings are the desired ones (IP address, Subnet, etc.). You can check this under Fieldbus > EtherNet/IP -Modbus > Active. If the problem persists, we suggest you contact Festo Tech Support in your country so they can further assist troubleshooting.
PLC screen is very small and it's not possible to see what is there.

Amazing product.
Can the SMS series now move to an unlimited number of positions? Previously they were limited to two or three positions only, depending on the firmware.
Initially the SMS series was designed to be a basic and inexpensive way to get into electrical actuators. At this point it is still inexpensive but you can now do unlimited positions via IO Link communication.

Hello
Will DSNU cylinders last a lot longer if lubricated? The cylinders get washed down once a day with hard water.
@Rick Cameron - Festo cylinders are lubricated for life. In a washdown environment, the cylinder does not require additional lubrication if the piston rod is not extended during the washing process. If the rod is extended during the washing process, a lubricator could help extend the life of the seals. We also offer a special rod wiper seal, made of UHMW-PE, which has very low friction so it can operate without any lubrication even in a washdown environment. This may be preferable to lubricating since it does not require the regular maintenance of keeping a lubricator full of oil.
@@FestoNorthAmerica thanks for the reply. Will the part number for these wipers be in the dsnu catalog?
@RIck - The rod wiper seal that is suitable for use in wet and frequent washdown environments is denoted as -R85 for the DSNU cylinder. For DSNU, this is an option that is not documented in the standard product catalog and must be quoted by Festo customer service. We offer this rod seal as standard with our CRDSNU stainless steel cylinder, it is called -A3. CRDSNU is similar to DSNU but offers higher corrosion protection and a cleaner design. Feel free to contact us in North America for support, at [email protected] or +1 (800) 993-3786. Thanks!

When access CPX-AP-I through web server, which device is the cpx-ap-i connected to? Laptop PC or PLC?
The CPX-AP-I-EP has a built-in web server. Use a browser on a PC to access the web server. This in independent of the PLC connection. To answer your question, the CPX-AP-I can be connected to both the PC and PLC at the same time as long as they are within the same network. But since this does not depend on the PLC, the PLC can be disconnected. At minimum, a PC with a web browser connected must be used.
