So cute with your matching tops!
Haha yup! 😂😂 DONT LET ME GET TO HAWT
Ha you made it dizzy
XRATTLESNAKESX NOO
she's pretty
I had 2 14" rods in my back as well as 4 cages. 11 hours on the table once. 6 hours the second surgery. It took a solid year or so to get to where I felt like I was even halfway better. It gets better in time.
Keep going!!! You’re doing great. Hard is Not impossible. .
Wonderful progress even when you don't get finished what you planned.❤
Nice!
It's amazing how something like a fridge doesn't look that large on the outside of the bus, but once it's in it looks so big. Congrats on getting in the bus! That'll be nice to have all that room!
thaat jack is a good idea
It just keeps getting better!
Keep em coming! Loving the videos❤
LOOKS GREAT🎉❤
If ya ever need to, you could be a bus driver🎉
Every steps an accomplishment. Looks great!
I would never be able to shave insulation. That looks like to much frustration 😂
❤just watching y'all work ....excited!!
Would you please make another and explain the process in depth?
I might be willing to film an “overview” video that walks through my entire system once it’s completed. But it will not be an instructional or how-to video.
O my! Love the doggo cam!! ❤
That's going to be an amazing electrical system. You've chosen some good components!
Ghcvbbb Bnbbbn Eddss
Hey does anyone else worry about having all their electrical components near their bed? Not because of an explosion or fire but because of what’s emitted? Am I just crazy?
What do you mean? Inverters could probably create a small magnetic field…maybe? Lithium batteries don’t have the same toxic off gassing as AGM or Flood batteries. I would say the magnetic field generated would have to come from the inverters transformer and even then would be strongest during peak loads. Which would never occur while sleeping at night. I do think this is an interesting question though… especially since these 2x inverters are stronger then most put in rigs and they are close to the sleeping quarters. 🤔 I might pick up an EMF meter once the bed frame is completed just to test the area under full load.
Dang, that's a big boy off grid system, looks expensive🤑🤑🤑
Haha it definitely wasn’t cheap but we are hoping to use it far into the future even after the bus! I’ll give a price breakdown of everything once all is installed. The little things have been adding up.
Dude. You should be selling those battery systems.
Great idea
Ahhh, no. That's not how we fuse batteries. Circuit protection happens at the source. Use an appropriately sized MRBF right on the battery terminal.
Typically, you would’ve of been right but, these batteries have their own protections built in and will trip once they hit that point. The 4/0 cable is also capable of handling the short circuit current rush of all batteries.
Yep, there's a breaker on *your* batteries. My statement still holds true. You're obviously missing the point. Whilst those bolt kits are a good idea, if you dont need fault condition indicators on a distributor, you showed the community how *not* to implement circuit protection which is dangerous and potentially deadly. 4/0 from the batteries to the Power In is also overkill. And, thats even if you believe you should actually follow their recommendation of 100A continuous😂
Yes your statement is true but it didn’t apply to my setup. I’m not missing the point. You clearly didn’t analyze my setup enough to know that I didn’t need those fused locations for proper failsafes. I’m using those fused locations as a fail safe before it was to trip my inverter fuses. The breakers on the batteries are 125amps and I’m fusing the connection at the lynx power in at 200. No it’s not necessary but I have my reasons. I’m also not trying to claim to the community the correct way to do things. You came onto my video and made a statement like what I did was unsafe or deadly when you clearly don’t know all the details of the equipment I have.
Cold sucks
Happy Belated Birthday, Paige! Video quality is amazing!!! You guys are doing a great job!!
Nice job, looking good! Happy birthday!
Good vid. Thinking of doing the same on my overland camper. I had a hatch over the bow quarters in my yacht that used levers to sinch down and it was watertight on a horizonal surface. So, yeah, marine hatch is the best option for a mobile skylight. (My boat survived two hurricanes without a drop coming in the hatch). However, I'll likely use 3M 5200 instead of buytl tape as I have a flat surface. (you needed buildup to cover the van design)
It’s been years since we installed the boat hatch and it has held up to everything. I imagine it will be there far longer than any of those expensive plastic options on the market.
Great progress!
Do you guys happen to know what year this Thomas Saf-T-Liner HDX school bus that you are converting is?
It’s a 2008 👌
Thanks. Really appreciate your ideas and instructions. Laminate flooring is an ideal product because of its durability and selection of finishes. Couple ideas. One, just drill your wall holes with a countersink drill bit to begin with saving a step. Black Drywall screws match decor. Second, soray paint your rivets prior to painting and they'll diminish in appearance.
Awesome….. best energy both of you
Definitely breaking bad.
Hi. Just had this video pop up in my "recommended". Took a quick look at your library and subscribed. I have a question though...in the thumbnail for this vid, it looks like there is a "ac" a/c unit mounted into the back door of your van. My wife and I are about to start a build on our first van and I was thinking about doing that. Found a small Frigidaire 5000 but a/c unit and we are going to have a pretty beefy electrical system -900ah of lithium batteries, a 3000w inverter and 900w of solar. is that what I am seeing on the back door? Can you share anything about it? If so, has it worked? if not why not and what would you do differently? Thanks! Dan in Michigan
Hey! Yes that is the Midea 8000btu Window unit. It's the newer U-shaped style where a window would typically come down in between the outdoor and indoor unit portion. I added this unit two summers ago and it has been excellent. We also have a 400AH lithium bank inside the van and it's plenty to run the AC for a long time. The best part about that window unit vs your more traditional is it has a VFD built into it similar to mini split units. So it can actually throttle down the compressor to meet the AC demand and consume less power. I think roughly (340-800)watts depending on Low/Med/High setting. Let me know if you have any more questions though. Or maybe I can do a quick review video this week to show how the unit installed more closely. Below is the link to the unit we use. Depending on your insulation I would probably recommend the 12,000 btu unit though especially if you are traveling in really hot climates. www.amazon.com/Midea-Conditioner-Remove-SARS-COV-2-Flexibility-Compatible/dp/B0C65HCG94/ref=asc_df_B0C65HCG94/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=658876260134&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14716577750227891888&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030891&hvtargid=pla-2186709093041&psc=1
@@pairofdrifters Thanks! Yes, I have definitely heard of that Midea unit. Would love any review or installation-related type vid you feel like doing on it. The whole a/c thing seems like one of the biggest things challenging vanlife enthusiasts.
I know this video was posted over 4 years ago, but I just want to point out that it's Econoline, not Ecoline.
Haha you right!
@@pairofdrifters Thanks, although the Econoline/Club Wagon was renamed as the E-Series around the 1999 model year.
Tight!
Very cool
Nice work. Love seeing your progress! ❤
Nice work! Glad you’re taking us along.
On your roof boat hatch, would you consider putting another one in for better ventilation?
I would personally recommend pairing a boat hatch with a fan solution. That allows you to exhaust air from fan while pulling in fresh air from boat hatch. If you do something similar to us where the boat hatch is over the bed area it will basically form a nice wind tunnel over your body while you sleep as well which is nice.
@@pairofdrifters 👍 good call!
Did you put the wood wedges on the top and bottom of the ribs? It looked like you just filled the top of the ribs with the tape. If so, why did you not also use the wood or plastic wedges on the top, this thinner tape on top and bottom of the wedge to make sure it sealed.
Great question.... back in the day I was worried that I didn't put anything there but we only used multiple layers of butyl tape and then lap sealant over. Has been years with no leaks.
Nice build, and a great idea for ventilation at the back door.
Nice work. I was hoping to find a link to the product in the description. What's this one called? And how pricey is it?
Great practical set-up, and cheap too! Clips to hold the window covers in place, and rope on the hatch door are new to me. Using the rope to secure the hatch while allowing ventilation is genius! Drift on, you lovely pair!
I have that exact year and model Subaru
Thank you Which hatch did you install? Lewmar? Size? Just what I want to do also:)
Osb has gone up way too much in 2 years
