  Wee Free Men was my first Terry Pratchet book. I was hooked. Granny Aching remains my favourite character. She is an inspiration, as is Tiffany. Two philosophies, one from Granny, one from Tiffany, literally changed my life. They replaced trepidation with a fire in my belly. "Can I stop it?" (Not "Can anyone stop it?" or "Can we stop it?") and “Them as can do has to do for them as can't. And someone has to speak up for them as has no voices.” I've done a lot of political activism and public speaking at rallies and spent years helping Afghani refugees overseas. Both these philosophies never left my mind. I still have them both as personal creedos. I honestly don't know if I would have done it all had Terry not articulated, and cemented, what was merely brewing in my mind beforehand.

  @@lydiasefton4780 well, it's on the Everand (audiobook subscription service) version. I checked to be sure and it is the exact same music and it's also a bit loud. This is one of my comfort reads (listen tos?, lol). I listen to it a lot and it's always had the music when I do. Maybe there are different versions? Idk. Is your version narrated by Stephen Briggs? I always found it a bit odd because this is the only Tiffany Aching book that has that music in it. I also just thought the OP was being a bit rude. The channel is providing an audiobook. I thought the whole "doing this for us or you?" was uncalled for.

  the audio on this is terrible. can't stand it. too bad because I really like this book and the narrator does a good job. Hope someone else uploads a better copy.

  Genius isn't a big enough word to describe Sir Terry. I have loved every minute of his work whether reading or listening to the fantastic audiobooks read by Stephen Briggs. Thank you for sharing this. I just wish the early books such as Wyrd Sisters had been ready by Stephen as for me his character portrayals are perfect. Rest in Peace Sir Terry - you will never be forgotten.

  No no, what’s the point if Wentworth dies? That’s grimdark that is, wrong flavor of fantasy. The story doesn’t matter if Wentworth dies because then she loses regardless of what happens next. It reflects rather poorly on your opinion of people that they might not change. After all, you aren’t a little bastard who whines for sweeties and threatens to go toilet if you’re left alone, not now. Oh then maybe, but certainly not now.
