What a beautiful beach! Close call on your first launch & second landing. Glad you pulled it off. What was the reason for getting on your downtubes at altitude during second flight? New harness?

Not me flying, it was my friend. He was simulating landings and getting used to shifting positions because it was the very first time he used thiss harness and only the third time he flew this glider.

If you ever get the chance to visit this beautiful place you won't regret it. I only had a fleeting visit but was impressed by the lovely people, great shopping and restaurants.

My family is from symi, the 1st time that I have been there was in 1969,my grandmother told me that electricity there was a new thing. PEDI hasnt changed a great deal in the 50 years, but this coming year i believe its going to change alot. They have made a harbor and are expecting alot of yachts, more studios are being built which means more cars, people and of course money. I feel sad, progress is not always a good thing.

Hi. I and my wife have our sail boat in Turkey (Marmaris/Bozburun) since 2012. We normally make a couple of visits to Symi every year. Since 2020, we haven't been able to sail to Greece because of the pandemic and political disagreements closing the sea-border between Turkey and Greece. We love Symi and many other Greek islands. Symi is unfortunately one of the most expensive Greek islands (along with Rhodos, from where many day-trip tourists come with the ferry-boat).

Επειδή στο πεδι Μπίτς πηγαίνουμε κάθε χρόνο το ξενοδοχείο είχε της καλλίτερες καθαρίστριες και ρεσεπτοιν όλα αυτά τα χρόνια έχω πιάσει το πρώτο μου ψάρι εκεί πέρα και τη νύχτα όταν τα φώτα ανοίγουν είναι απλός τοπ και αυτή ημέρα της Σύμης είναι παρά πολύ νοσταλγία

irenedkastrounis....how interesting to read your comment. I visited Symi and stayed for three months forty years ago. A friend and I would walk down to Pedi and spend the day there. It was no more than a line of houses with a small kafenion at one end overlooking the bay. I used to swim, but there was no proper sewerage then - I'd look up and there was poo in front of me! Outside the kafenion one day a shepherd brought his sheep and slaughtered one of them on the slipway, blood flowing into the water. Octopus would hang on a line. There was no-one about. It was such a very simple quiet time, utterly disconnected to the outside world, and very lovely for it. Now I see hotels and restaurants and beach umbrellas in this video; but I wonder how much of this has been affected by the pandemic? Perhaps you can tell me. σας ευχαριστώ. Robert, UK.

Wow what really good video , complete different from Symi vids I’ve watched , it gives me a view of what I can’t see till I go , this June for 11 days, my 1sr ever Symi holiday , I fell in love with is magical island a few yrs ago on a boat trip from Rhodes , Greece’s no 1 secret island it’s like going stepping back in time to when ppl cared , I love Symi

Why are they landing at such a crowded beach?

It's the Airgames week, but they could have landed on a less crowded part of the beach. The first landing aimed to be at the not crowded part of the beach before the fence but the guy miscalculated his glide (coming in too high). The second landing was possibly a matter of the pilot relying too much on his skills...

I only understood a couple of words and those were the ones on Landing but what a great video. I've seen one of these in person a long time ago at the Oshkosh Air Show and was impressed then. Years later I've been flying for 35 plus years with the usual endorsements and ratings and now own and fly a Wittman Tailwind but this design still intrigues me.

I travelled to Quebec in the '80's to meet the Canadian distributor of the B-10 and to negotiate becoming the Ontario representative for Mitchell. Less than a week later, before consummating the deal, which involved the purchase of two complete kits, the gentleman, a multi-engine rated pilot and helicopter instructor spun his aircraft, the two place, T-10 D, into the ground, killing his student and very badly injuring himself. If a pilot with his qualifications became a paraplegic flying this "stall proof" aircraft, what would become of a newby like myself? That was the end of my interest in the Mitchell Wing.
