The Aussie Repair Guy

The Aussie Repair Guy

When a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis landed on my lap, this channel became a way to leave a legacy while I'm still mobile and able to communicate clearly.
I'm not in this for fame or money, but I do share in the revenue youtube makes from my content.
My original plan was to leave a legacy for both my daughters - for a future time where I'm no longer able to communicate these things to them.
Sometimes a complicated past gets in the way of the present, so one can only plan for the future.

    2:53 hi quick question, you said where the draining holes are and you point to a section where you say water shouldn’t be. What makes you say that? I ask because my husband and I have the domestic rtx 2000 and it was leaking inside so now we’re trying to figure out why and we have water in that section where you point out it shouldn’t have water.

  • @TheAussieRepairGuy

    In this case it's designed to drain out the underside of each corner. It's meant to be ibstalked with a gasket that raises it up about an inch, that was not supplied with mine. My issues are a result of incorrect installation.

    Two days ago I cleaned my lx-cs57 avr’s remote… hooleee it was dirty inside! I bought the system from a friend and he is fond of chips and beer! 😂 Hardest part was to open it and closing it back up because the middle round selector has to be seated in a specific way. The volume and other buttons are generally very hard to make contact, but I attribute that to bad designing by Pioneer.

    would be cool to build a wooden stand for that, and inset into the stand, have RGB LED's so that you can individually illuminate one slice at a time, or all at once, kinda sequence through them, then show the whole thing etc (arduino and neopixels make it really easy to make)

  • @TheAussieRepairGuy

    Yeah I thought about that, but as I'm gifting it to my neurologist, I didn't want to hand him something that requires power pack or batteries. Given that it's possible to swing a slice out, it's easy to see a layer if needed.

    have you heard of some of the new findings concerning MS that are incredible? many autopsies were conducted on persons whom died "with" MS and were all found to have in their cerebral spinal fluid, clusters of parasites. and if I remember correctly the people were overwhelmingly raised from children with dogs in the home, which could have been a vector. look into it, I would if I were in that situation.

    Had my spinal fluid tested way back in 2009... and to be very frank, I get many people claiming to have the cure for MS every day. about as many people that have cures for cancer. To the point where I feel insulted by the suggestions. My treatment is working.

    Questions! Firstly, what is the name of the pin on the belt buckle? Mine broke off because it was stepped on :-( The belt buckle means a lot to me. Can I just do the same thing to reattach the pin? OR will it not be strong enough soldering? The material is stainless steel.

  • @TheAussieRepairGuy
    @TheAussieRepairGuy12 күн бұрын

    Stainless is not something you can solder to, it needs proper welding at much higher temperatures. tin/lead solder will not bond to stainless at all. I'm not sure of the official terminology for the retaining pin I'm afraid.

  • @TheAussieRepairGuy
    @TheAussieRepairGuy12 күн бұрын

    Allows input and output shafts to match speeds, reducing the need for synchros to spin up the gears. In big boxes like this eith only 4 speeds, there's a big jump between gears. Done right, you don't even feel the stick move between gears. Offroad, it can be essential when hill climbing or descending extreme terrain. See the pinned comment for more
