  Wat werd er daar in het hoge Noorden, toch heerlijk, hartverwarmend gespeeld en gezongen, je moet en wil gewoon heerlijk meezingen, als je dit ziet en hoort, van het verlangen naar GOD, Die uitkomst geeft uit alle moeilijke omstandigheden!!, Soli DEO Gloria!!!

  Als je dan i.p.v. de psalmist de Here Jezus plaats. Dan krijgt de psalm nog een diepere dimensie…Aanschouw toch Uw Gezalfde Koning….Om deze Koning is God goed en mild…in het strijdperk van dit leven..Hij heeft Zichzelf gegeven tot in de dood des kruises, daarom zal hij ons ook in de dood bewaren…

  O, God ….zie en aanschouw het Aangezicht van Uw geliefde Zoon..Alles eeuwige liefde en genade van God om in Zijn Zoon naar mensen om te zien die het verpeuterd hebben. Geen ijdele vreugd….maar blijdschap in Christus….Prachtige psalmen.

  Nou, Herman, je had er heel nadrukkelijk een extra zanger bij, Erik, onze papegaai spande zich in om het allermooiste, er bovenuit te zingen, dat doet hij alleen, als er prachtig, warm, gloedvol, gespeeld en gezongen wordt, op een mooi gedragen tempo, als er gejaagt wordt zingt hij niet mee, als er gesleept wordt ook niet, zijn baas is het roerend met hem eens, zo komt zo heel mooi, dat verlangen, naar het Levende Water tot uiting, Die de God, Die van alle ramp bevrijdt, wil schenken, om niet, uit vrije genade, aan allen die HEM daar (zingend) om bidden!!, Soli DEO Gloria!!!

  Wondermooi, mannen, alle drie leveren jullie een schitterende bijdrage, bij vers 3 zo mooi ingetogen zingend bidden, wat versterken de 2 stemmen elkaar hier op een prachtige manier, het ingetogen zingen krijgt er toch een mooie, duidelijke warme schoonheid mee, dat is het geheim van de Bovenstem, Pieter begrijpt ook zo heel mooi, hoe je dat aan moet sturen, Tjerk, met jou, als heerlijke warme ondertoon, was het bijna Hemels genieten, om dat vierde vers; Dan ga ik op tot Gods altaren, heerlijk op de Bovenstem mee te zingen, lieve zangvrienden; Dit smaakt echt naar meer, op dit prachtige ouderwetse hele en halve noten tempo, zoals het vroeger in de Psalmboek(j)es stond!!, Soli DEO Gloria!!!

  Prachtige psalm….eerste vers is de toon van een bede….gena o God gena….tweede vers is de toon van het geschonken geloof dat over dit leven heen mag kijken..op de Overste Leidsman en Voleinder van het geloof tot in de dood des kruises. Vanuit die verdienste mogen wij zingen en eeuwig zingen van Gods goedertierenheid.. Niet uit ons eigen doen…maar uit genade.

  Geschonken geloof, zeker. Uiteindelijk is alles geschonken. Maar wacht niet tot er een pakketje met geloof uit de hemel valt! Want de Heere gaat voor jou niet geloven, dat moet je toch echt zelf doen! En dan leer je achteraf zien dat het toch een gave is geweest!

  @@leeuwen1808je mag het nog niet begrijpen. De Voleinder van het geloof is uit de hemel gekomen. Er is niets meer te doen, alles is gedaan in Christus. Dat geloof jij nog niet merk ik aan je remonstrantse reactie…Doen…zit de godsdienst vol van, is een ergenis in Gods ogen vriend…

  Tempo is uiteindelijk maar relatief. Bijv: Een begravenis stoet rijdt ook niet met de meute mee. Die neemt ook de tijd omdat de gelegenheid een diepe lading heeft. Zo heeft ook deze psalm diepe lading voor ons waar we niet door heeft hoeven te fietsen. Het is juist soms goed om ergens de tijd voor te nemen.

  @@pieterdebeer1 het mag inderdaad iets vlotter, er wordt teveel gearticuleerd. Daar wordt het tempo echt niet te hoog mee.

  Jaa zoveel mensen zoveel meningen. het spijt me enorm als het niet uw tempo is. Een ieder houd weer van iets anders. Ik houd helaas gewoon niet van nog vlotter. Kan nu al bijna niet bijbenen😜

  Q. What are some historical facts about the introduction of the cross into the Christian Church in the early centuries after Christ? Answer: "This...symbol seems first to have crept into the Christian Church in Egypt, and generally into Africa. A statement of Tertullian, about the middle of the third century, shows how much by that time, the Church of Carthage was infected with the old leaven. The first form of that which is called the Christian Cross, found on Christian monuments there, is the unequivocal Pagan Tau, or Egyptian 'Sign of life'. Sir G. Wilkinson: 'A still more curious fact may be mentioned respecting this hieroglyphical character (The Tau), that the early Christians of Egypt adopted it in leu of the cross, which was afterward substituted for it, prefixing it to inscriptions in the same manner as the cross in later times. For, though Dr. Young had some scruples in believing the statement of Sir A. Edmonstone, that it holds that position in the sepulchers of the great Oasis, I can attest that such is the case, and that numerous inscriptions, headed by the Tau, are preserved to the present day on early Christian monuments.' The drift of this statement is evidently this, that in Egypt the earliest form of that which has since been called the cross, was no other than the 'Crux Asanta', or, 'Sign of life' borne by the Osiris and all the Egyptian gods...It was simply the attachment of the old and long cherished Pagan symbols, which is always strong in those who, with the adoption of the Christian name and profession, are still, to a large extent, Pagan in heart and feeling." "This, no doubt, will appear all very strange and very incredible to those who have read Church history, as most have done to a large extent, even among Protestants, through Romish spectacles; and especially to those who call to mind the famous story told of the miraculous appearance of the cross to Constantine on the day before the decisive victory at the Milvian bridge, that decided the fortunes of avowed Paganism, and nominal Christianity. The story, as commonly told, if true, would certainly give a Divine sanction to the reverence for the cross. But that story, when sifted to the bottom, according to the common version of it, will be found to be based on a delusion--a delusion however, into which so good a man as Milner has allowed himself to fall. Milner's account is as follows:....." "Now, in regards of the 'trophy of the cross', a few words will suffice to show that it is utterly unfounded. I do not think it necessary to dispute the fact of some miraculous sign having been given. There may, ot there may not, have been on this occasion a crisis worthy of Divine interposition...But this I say, on the supposition that Constantine in this matter acted in good faith, and that there actually was a miraculous appearance in the heavens, that it was not the sign of the cross that was seen, but quite a different thing, the name of Christ. That this was the case, we have at once the testimony of Lactantius, who was the tutor of Constantine's son Crispus--the earliest author who gives any account of the matter, and the indisputable evidence of the standards of Constantine themselves, as handed down to us on the medals struck at that time. The testimony of Lactantius is most decisive: 'Constantine was warned in a dream to make the celestial sign of God upon his soldier's shields, and so to join battle. He did as he was bid, and with the transverse letter X circumflecting the head of it, he marks Christ on their shields.' Now, the letter X was just the initial of the name of Christ, being equivalent in Greek to CH...it was the 'letter X' as the symbol of Christ, and not the sign of the cross, which he saw in the heavens...Ambrose, the well-known Bishop of Milan calls it 'The Labarum, that is, the ensign consecrated by the name of Christ.' There is not the slightest allusion to any cross, to anything but the simple name of Christ. 'In this sign thou shalt be a conqueror', said to have beeb addressed from heaven to the emporer, has nothing at all in the shape of a cross, but, 'the letter X'. " The Two Babylons, by Rev.   Q. 29/95 How does the reintroduction of the cross(images)as a religious symbol since the Reformation, contribute to diminishing Christianity?: Hosea 8:6 'The workman made it; therefore it is not God.' Answer: Recognizing Christianity by the symbol of the cross is the common perception of anyone who thinks of religion; thereby putting Christianity on a lower level with all the religions of the world. A curious searcher is not presented with the first aspect of Christianity: Love(indeed the only religion that works by love): Love to God being the summary of the first commandment and our neighbour as ourselves that of the second. Christ's laying down of his life, rather than his life being taken from him, is not in the forefront either, in the cross symbol, to the unenlightened mind. The first reason that there should not be a crucifix is because it is forbidden: Lev. 26:1 'Ye shall make you no idols...neither rear you up a standing image.' "The heathen may bring up the same urgumment as the Papists do for their image worship. What heathen has been so simple as to think gold or silver, or the figure of an ox or elephant, was God? They were emblems and hieroglyphics only to represent him. They worshipped an invisible God by such visible things. To worship God by an image, God takes as done to the image of himself." Thomas Watson: Second Commandment. The commonality of the use of crosses to mark graves such as the Second World War graveyards shows the encroachment of the reintroduction, and brings validation to hesitant minds. Nevertheless, older Reformed Christians today remember well the days where crosses were unacceptable in church and remember well the decided stance their now deceased fathers had on this. "The Second Commandment is expressly directed against this, and is here enlarged upon: Deut. 4:15-18 'Take ye therefore good heed...lest ye corrupt yourselves;' that is, 'Lest you debauch yourselves;' for those who think to make images of God form in their minds such notions of him as must needs be an inlet to all impieties; and it is intimated that it is a spiritual adultery. As an argument against their making images of God, he urges it very much upon them that when God made himself known in Horeb he did it by a voice of words that sounded in their ears, to teach them that faith comes by hearing, and God in the word is nigh us." "Q.51/23 Exposition of the Shorter Catechism, James Fisher: Is it lawful, as some plead, to have images or pictures in churches, though not for worship, yet for instruction and raising the affections? Answer: No; because God has expressly prohibited not only the worship but the Making of any image whatsoever on a religious account; and the setting them up in churches, cannot but have a natural tendency to beget a sacred veneration for them; and therefore ought to be abstained from, as having, at least an 'appearance of evil,' Isaiah 45:9-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:22." "When David had admired the perfection of the law, for the purity of it, and its dominion over the conscience, what was the fruit of this meditation? Ps. 19:12 'Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.' Thy commandment is exceeding broad,' it comprises the whole duty of man, not only our actions, but our aims. He that orders his ways in the fear of God, turns not away either to the right hand or to the left; he is neither to stiff nor proud in his own conceit, not too flexible and bending, where his duty forbids compliance. When God smote the Bethshemites: 1 Sam. 6:20 'Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God?' It may be you will think this is the character of God as he represented himself to the Jews; but does not the Christian representation of God call for the same reverence and respect?: Heb. 12:28,29 'Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.' His mercy does not lessen his majesty, nor expose it to contempt." Thomas Manton Vol. 19 p.348-349, condensed.   Prachtige, al wat oudere opname, de prachtige begeleiding vraagt om heerlijk meezingen, tot eer van het Heilig Opperwezen, dat wij zo heel graag eeuwig vrezen, de panfluit door het koraal vind ik minder passend, graag diep respect voor het gezongen Woord, daar gaat het om!!, Soli DEO gLORIA!!!
