Hello Y’all! I make junk journals from up-cycled and recycled materials with book jewelry for a little bling! My journals tend to take on a life of their own and once I get started, I usually end up with several journals in process at the same time.

so cool, Kerry! I love how you did your 28 and I totally agree...always check your stamps! I had a gecko covered in glue....don't know how...probably a child but anywoo...when I stamped it it didn't work at all...had to clean off the dried on glue first. lol. I love all your post cards! Great job on that challenge! I set out to do Jj July and never got past making the journal.

@JoansJunkJournalsAndMore yes I saw your flip through (sort of) I lost power so internet went too … but yes I think putting them all in one journal is the best way to keep them. Can’t wait to see yours when it’s finished 🤸

You do this part the same as me also. When I cut the corners of the fabric/paper off I keep those pieces handy incase I cut too much off then I can glue the corner piece onto the inside cover before the edges.... Did that make sense? Have a wonderful day. ☺♥

@@ThumbprintCreationsbyKerry Oh I will be keeping an eye open for that. My postcards are just stacked up on my desk for now. I'm not sure if I will put them in a journal of their own like you or give them as happy mail and stick in other journals along the way.

Yay! Happy mail. I love it. I need to send out a couple this week. I've made one complete journal, working on a 2nd and have enough HMM envelopes for 2 more. One day ;p Have a wonderful eve. ☺♥

Thank you! I’m enjoying this mixed media and I really like the way my first two came out. Ceri the Crafter and Darcy’s Misadventures with Mixed Media started popping up in my next up queue. So I’ve been playing with my gel plate a little bit more ❣️🤩
~~more thoughts~~I'm really wondering about using home-made envelopes. I know the #happymailmovement was created around that idea, but I've now seen a few videos sharing envelopes damaged in the mail~~~it really is a shame~~~
Yes it is sad and I feel really bad but since I’m not the only one affected I figured someone should file a complaint. And actually I was thinking that too, we should use a regular envelope but I agree it would take away the fun of it 😔

As you said, that was not a flimsy envelope. Well, I DID in fact send you a replacement. it went out yesterday (July 1) - so let's see what happens to that one. Your idea of putting heavy tape around the edges seems sensible, although of course, it may detract from the way the envelope looks. Oh lordie~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes I believe she is done but the envelope was sent in May. I saw a post in the Facebook group she is done or at least done for now.

Thank you! I use Fabri-fix glue. I don’t measure really. I just take a scrap and find a smaller scrap to go on top. ☺️

I am back. I had some personal things that I had to take care of. I haven’t received an envelope from you. I don’t know what’s going on with the PO, but this envelope was sent in March and returned… I will let you know if it comes.

It's so funny! I got a ton of books a while back and had a pile of book jackets...wondering what to do with them! Soft covers never even occurred to me😂 Now I have to go down to my craft cubby and see if I still have any of them left. I've been using them for glue mats!🤭❣

@JoansJunkJournalsAndMore I’ve taken absolutely everything out and put up shelving and now I’m trying to find a place for everything. I’m never doing this again! So that said I’m so far behind. I don’t even know what the 12x13 challenge is 🤦🏻♀️
Now, you will have to try one batch with different types of paper also. It is amazing how different papers take the dye so differently.
I thought about that but since I’m in reorganization mode I only have my regular copy paper handy. I can’t find my envelopes ATM 😳🤣 I have more solution tho so I’m gonna put it in the fridge and hopefully get enough done this weekend to dye more Monday. I also have some avocado solution left which is also in the fridge 🤩

Looks like too much water mixed with the kool aid maybe.
It called for 8 cups and I only used 6 because it was getting too light.
@@ThumbprintCreationsbyKerry I think two cups is all you need, maybe less. I used 2 cups and thinking of using less next time. 8 cups is when you’re drinking it.

I never got my videos edited yesterday as it was way over an hr all together. I might do 2 x 10 minute or so videos as I know I can cut it down lots. Then I will work on my first journal. So much fun Didn't you just love turning the happy mail into signatures ♥☺♥
I don’t edit my videos cuz I don’t know how. But my internet is so sketchy that I try to keep them under 20 minutes or they take 2-7 days to upload 😳🙄 Bobby mailed out your package on Friday. So let me know when you get it ❤️🤸🙌
@@ThumbprintCreationsbyKerry Thank you. I record my videos on my cell ph and then edit using YouCut before I up load. I use the free version and the more I use it the more I learn and the more I like it. I had way tooo mannnny distractions today to do any editing so I will now and hope to get at least one video uploaded before I turn lights off. ☺♥

Awesome Happy mail. I just turned 10 more envelopes into signatures. I'm ready to make my first journal from them. I have enough to make 3 journals of 10 envelopes each. So much fun receiving and turning these envelopes into signatures isn't it. I look forward to making my first journal from them now.....maybe later today?? ☺♥

I ended up peeling them and doing a reboil and simmer… but I think I should have just peeled them first, so I’m gonna try it again. And that stack of kool aid packets is for you. I just need to get a package together to send it out ❤️

Yes me too. A lot of the mail I’m receiving is postmarked over a month later or not postmarked at all. Did you get mine yet? I usually mail out no later than 2 days after I receive it only because I do 2 videos each time.

Hi Kerry, really love what you are doing with these envelopes. I am just sending one to you, my 2nd one and while i was watching i looked the envelope and i had the wrong zip code too. Including the 1st one 1 sent you. So something must have gone wrong somewhere. This one is now correct but let me know if you have already received one from me, otherwise it may be returned to me.
Hi Kim. There have been a few with the wrong zip code and one didn’t have a zip code at all and I still got it. And to answer your question from your last happy mail video - I am about an hour north of Savannah and our area mail all gets sent to Jacksonville and then sorted from there. I hope that helps ☺️❤️

I know there have been issues with some postal services near her.
My thought is someone wanted to see what was inside such a pretty envelope and decided they needed the contents more than I did. That’s ok. I was just taken aback because of her last envelope had such delicious goodies. But things happen. 🤷🏻♀️

These are awesome. Looking forward to seeing your journal from these. I just did my first 4 ''Signatures" today. I might do one or 2 more before the day is over, then I will upload my video for my Monday Morning premiere. I am planning on a journal or 2 at least and do the spines in ways I have not done yet. Now I need to edit videos for days 36 & 37 of 100 day challenge to upload for tmrw then edit video clips for the 5 envelopes to make my video for Monday premiere with live chat.
