    Thanks Very Much! I'm producing my chroma backgrounds on blender for adding 3D animated Objects on top of Videos. So didn't have all of the problems of recording in front of a green screen. But I was not succeeding on trying to have perfect masking just with chroma key advanced. The Despil Effect saved me and solved the problem. Thanks very much again! Cheers From Brazil 😉

    I did the same thing in Shotcut (except the preset by default was fast, not veryfast so the exporting time cutoff was WAY more drastic). I noticed no difference in quality, but did notice that the video file size was way larger, I think it's because the faster your preset is, the less compression is applied to the export, and compression is time consuming for computers so the rendering is faster but there's less compression so file sizes end up being larger. The opposite happens with slower presets, where it takes much more time to render due to the heavier compression, but file sizes end up being smaller, so if you have some space to spare and want to export videos faster, this is a pretty good way to do it, but if you run low on it, don't make the switch.

    I was using both until I bought my Canon R7 over a year ago. I ended up using DT since then. My main reason was RT was not reporting exif data correctly and DT was quick to include R7 support with noise profiles etc. I love DT for my use. RT may have more demosaic control compared to DT, but I don’t miss it really. DT is more actively developed and it is nicely featured- no need to look at LR etc

    f I am correct DigiKam cannot see the photos where they already are but has to import them - which means copying them in another place. It is totally unusable if you have already organized your photos in some hardrive because you have to copy them ALL again...lightroom does a better job because there is no need to copy

  • @Photolearningism
    @PhotolearningismАй бұрын

    Thank you for the comment! #DigiKam will allow to add collections from your computer, from external drives, and networked computers (without having to copy them somewhere else). It walks through it in the documentation here - docs.digikam.org/en/setup_application/collections_settings.html - There are also built in processes for importing from Scanners, Cameras, and other media devices. For best performance, it recommends indexing all the images in order to make them easier to work with and search through. Hope that helps!

  • @Photolearningism

    Hi! Just as a thought, it might be that the setting to show it was tweaked off. Under Settings -> Configure Kdenlive -> Timeline, check under "Thumbnails" if the setting for "Separate audio channels" and "Enable for Audio" is marked on. Both of these should be enabled for the audio waveform to appear in the timeline. Hope that helps!

    Hi Nate! Thanks for the tutorial. I tried this effect out with a video I took with my phone of someone explaining something in a busy fair. So lots of (louder than on your video) background noise. In my case it does effect/distort the quality of the main voice. I tried to adjust the levels (I'm on version 24.02.2): VAD Threshold; VAD Grace Period; Retroactive VAD Grace Period, but the sound remains distorted. Any Ideas? Thanks!

  • @Photolearningism
    @PhotolearningismАй бұрын

    Hi MMIEU 11! It can get tricky when there is lots of competing audio with overlapping frequencies. I'd suggest trying to isolate your voice using Equalization and place it first in the effects stack (above noise removal). It sounds like the noise filtering is biting into your voice a bit and if you can distinguish the frequencies of your voice, it may help to smooth it out. Hope that helps!

    @@Photolearningism No need to thank me. It is great to hear how enthusiastic that you are about E.G. Kdenlive - but your so called tutorials about same holds little else. They are like so called reviews of films that you need a deeper perspective into - but all the 'reviewer' is expressing is how awesome the film is. I have now seen some four or five of your 'tutorials' and it has been a complete waste of time since it provides nothing of value just to be a witness to your sense of awe. It should have been a warning to me that your low Q videos express very little use of the techniques they should inform about but I guess I must accept the punishment for not listening to my intuition. If you are serious about creating a community about learning video editing around you channel, you should scrap the lot and start over. At least the first five videos about Kdenlive - regretfully I did no longer feel any inclination to continue watching when the outcome from it was so low end !! SORRY !!

  • @TexpatOTG
    @TexpatOTG2 ай бұрын

    This seems like a really useful feature - hope it's not over my head and can understand how to use it. In my film days, I used to organize into scenes, so this might work similar? Thanks so much, Cheers

  • @Photolearningism
    @PhotolearningismАй бұрын

    Hi Texpat OTG! You are correct in how the sequences can be used to create scenes. Using Sequences allows you to make individual edits of media, then use that whole sequence as one object in a "master" timeline. Ultimately, the end result is the same if all the pieces had been edited in the same timeline, but using Sequences gives a lot of control over organization and is much easier to adopt changes to a scene into a master timeline. Hope it helps!

  • @TexpatOTG
    @TexpatOTGАй бұрын

    @@Photolearningism Thanks for quick reply. This helps a lot. Am going to do some testing on some footage from an abandoned project to see how it works. This could be a significant improvement over working with long projects -- I had been making scenes by rendering projects in pieces -- this was very tedious and might affect quality -- not sure about that. This sure could be a big league improvement. Thanks much!

    Is there a way to motion track a person and colour them out? No masking, just colour fill them?

  • @Photolearningism
    @PhotolearningismАй бұрын

    Hi! I haven't tested this, but I believe this would be possible using motion tracking (provided the algorithm can track the person) and use the keeframes with a Rotoscope Mask, which limits effects to a defined shape. Within the Rotoscope Mask range, you could theoretically apply colorization effects. Hope that helps!

  • @Photolearningism
    @PhotolearningismАй бұрын

    Just in case it saves you some time, I was able to test this out myself and found that the Motion Tracker keyframes were not importing on the Rotoscope (Mask) effect - there's no error, but does not bring in the data. This being the case (and it seems like it should work), I submitted a bug report to KDE - bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488106 - hopefully this will be fixed!
