This is so difficult for us colorblind guys.
Aw man! I bet :/
so i want to remove the glass from my drawer.. anyone knows how to do that?
It depends on how it’s being held in place. If you want to reach out on IG so you can send me photos, I can help you more specifically
Love the shelf you can fold clothes on! Love the secret drawer as well. Im getting ready to re-do my daughters closet and nervous and keep changing my mind on what to do. AHH!! Ill figure something out. This video (BOTH) helped me answer a few questions on what to do and not do lol. Cant wait for more!
Haha thank you so much! Glad I could help!
No primer before spray paint? Im needing to repaint old beat up brass cabinet hardware
If you use a spray specifically made for metal it should be fine. Otherwise, a primer is good!
Airless vs HVLP. Both should be used for their own specific purposes, but excellent review nonetheless.
Thank you!!
Do you have to go over the piece with the heat gun a few times? The white goes away with the heat gun almost immediately, but comes back once it cools. Thank you!!
Really?? Oh man… I don’t know :/ is it humid where you are?
No, not compared to parts of the county 😂 but more than it usually is. We’ll keep trying. Thank you!
Does these mfs work with oil paint sweetie ?
They say it does, but then you’d have to clean it which is tricky
@@TheMissFlipsty
I really want to do this but I live with my bf and his grandma at her house and we don’t have any space 😣
Aw man :( you could start by doing small flips that you can do and keep outside. Or work on things you already own if both of them are open to it
Heat guns are very difficult for a novice to utilize without causing the finish to bubble. I suggest using a hair dryer instead. They are heat and air velocity adjustable. Keeping it moving is also very important. Also there is no 300 grit sand paper. My guess is you’re using #320.
You’re so right!! My bad!
@@TheMissFlips No worries my friend. Your willingness to fine tune your approach is refreshing. After fifty plus years in the finishing industry, one learns a few things. I found out the hard way what a heat gun can do to ruin a project. They work wonders if you want to melt a stubborn multi layer paint job on a metal surface, but their propensity to cause serious burns and or a fire when working on old house siding make them very dangerous.
Thank you for using Smart Strip Advanced and we're glad it worked so well with your restoration project! We do recommend removing the paper/plastic covering in small sections to assure the rest of the products remains in a wet state. We love this project!
Thank you!!
I saw this for the first time on Instagram after you finished it. It took my breath away before I realized it was yours! Beautiful!!
Aww thank you mama ❤️
I feel so discouraged I'm trying to flip a small table. Spent 1 hour just getting paint off then found out stain was under the paint .
Yeah, it’s a long long process and often people paint over stained wood. This is a common thing that you will run into. Just breath! You got this!!
@TheMissFlips I ended up crying and going to sleep came back to it today and it went well until I accidentally stripped veneer and it revealed a hole.... Oops. It's on the bottom tho so I put wood filler over it and you can't tell.
@@StringBeansCrafts well that’s good!!
Good Work! Organic art!❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Success, congratulations on a wonderful year of flips. I love watching your videos and living vicariously through them. I just subscribed so I can see more of your talent.
Aww thank you so much!!! You’re the best!
😍😍😍😍😍😍
❤️🥰🙌
Have missed you & glad ur back! I really liked the result 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I thought u could’ve added some gold lines to the front to make the Artdeco features stand out a bit more! Did u add some sort of finish over it? The gel stain maybe has a built in top coat, but I just thought it needed a touch more sheen to it…just a thought 🤔🤔🤔
Thank you so much! Yes I did! I forgot to include the part where I added a wax top coat
Looks great 🤩🥃
Thank you so much!!
Très élégant. J’ai bien aimé les lignes.
Thank you so much!!
Great idea! 🎉😊
Thank you! 😊
📚 For new and most seasoned Furniture Renovators: Staining, first requires some training. However, it offers a far more lucrative craft of furniture restoration and renovation. *** I highly recommend doing a thorough Tutorial Video Series on the subject. Consulting with experts to offer the complete craft and colors for options. (This series in One's Library would receive a high view volume over time.) It isn't realized in its value, "but it Will" come to be as the current generation of Furniture Artists mature. A higher class level of furniture reproductions are awaiting discovery and the use of 2 different color stains + black paint + Gold Leaf = a Premium Class of Furniture Renovation 🏆
Thank you for the info!!
Looks fantastic, you created a beautiful piece and kept another vintage piece out landfill . Loved the R2D2 reference
Thank you very much!
"Well well well how the turn tables".
😂
what is the caulking foam called?

I Love ❤❤❤you always come up with such beautiful designs!!
Thank you Cathy!!! 🥰🥰🥰
I've been watching your videos for a while and think your furniture is always best when you have free reign. I have to say, even though your work is impeccable, I'm not a fan of how this turned out. This piece was so unique, and even though it was held together by a few nails and a prayer, I think you would have turned into something very different if you'd found a different piece for a coffee bar for your client.
I honesty would have just restored it if it weren’t for my client. Nothing crazy. I appreciate the feedback!
That was a lot of work taking it apart then having to reassemble it, but you did a great job! Love your designs!
Thank you very much! 🥰
Super creative and fun. The wallpaper is a bit much for me but as long as the client likes it, its all good. I assume you put on a durable topcoat at some point given liquids would be involved? Did you just cover the wood or the wallpaper as well?
Oh good! Question! I just realized I forgot to cover that. I did put a top coat on everything. Wax on the wood and poly on the paper
@@TheMissFlips phew!

I really like that you have the eye for unique pieces that can be brought back to life. This piece is so fun and what a great conversation piece. Keep up the fun flipping!
Thank you so much!!
I’d like the link to the wallpaper company please!

Haha thank you so much!!
Unique. Just like MissFlips. 😊 Great job!
Haha thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰🙌
Always stress the idea of taking a piece apart 😶Well done you!
Haha thank you!!
Might I suggest using a multi tool to remove the pins for that dropdoor next time you come accross this issue? You could actually keep it for later projects.
Woooow! I even have one and I didn’t even think about it 😂
Thanks for the reminder!
❤❤❤❤
🥰
It did break my heart when you tore apart the cute vintage cart but you're so adorable, hilarious and talented, I'll forgive you anything. Plus, that cart looked fabulous in the end. No use being vintage in the dump!
Hahaha I appreciate your support!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow it looks great! I definitely would have this piece in my home and love it. You have such a unique and artistic flair. Always enjoy and appreciate your work. 😎🌞😎
Thank you so much! You’re the best ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful 😍
Thank you!!
I like it, but I would’ve loved it if you had made it into an Art Deco bar w Gold accents instead of grey. Overall, it’s beautiful, just not my style.
It’s dark green to match a color in the wallpaper. Just looks gray on camera.
You’re the best ❤️❤️❤️
I appreciate the feedback 🥰

New to furniture flipping!(: I was just wondering how do you make the decision whether to just stain it or paint it? Do you mark it as used or like new? And do you add the before pics as well when you list it? Anyways thank you!(:
Hi there! Great questions. Staining or painting is just personal preference or artistic expression. However I always use google lens to look up a piece to see if I should restore or paint depending on how rare/valuable it is. Some pieces are worth thousands and thousands just by restoring them while others are not. For the used thing, I put used, like new because there’s that and then there’s also new. I do not put new. Typically I do not put the before pics.
@@TheMissFlips ahhh I see! Okay cool! Thank you so much for the info! Appreciate you!(:
@@Z_ramsey19 for sure!!
Tattoos were not the markings of choice for slave masters in the south. Hot Iron branding was used mostly. It was more painful for the slave!!! You're very talented! Your freehand drawings are beautiful!
Thank you!!
Can you tell me how you are shipping these huge pieces??
Yes! I have an entire video on it :)) kzread.info/dash/bejne/fJl3yJtrZ8-xdaw.htmlsi=7OnHsGCtfyXzoCdR
Hey I'm so sorry to bother but on minute 3:15 you said lower grids twice, did you mean to say you use higher grids for the finish ups? Since you said the lower the more chance you have to perforate the wood? Thank you :)
Haha yes!! I meant to say lower and then higher!
How about a vehicle and a furniture dolly.
Hey! If you can get people to deliver it to you, you don’t need either! I didn’t have a dolly for years!
@TheMissFlips In my 30's, people would always help.
Love your vids and your work. I'm a noob at all this. Question: You stripped and then sanded the whole piece. What situations do you strip first and then sand, versus just sanding a piece without stripping? Thanks for any feedback.
Hey! Thanks for the comment! I usually try to strip and then sand if I’m working with high quality, fragile, or rare veneer.
You don’t see the piece of furniture anymore. Almost psychedelic.
My client loved it so I think that’s all that matters right?
You don’t used that kind of design on a period furniture. Awful design and colour. I hope you preserve the top.
It’s not a period piece. Not even real wood
Uh, no. Sorry, but for all that work, I think it looks instantly dated, a little “Miami Vice”. The original finish, though not “stylish”, perfectly suited the style.
My client loved it so to each their own :)
I’m trying this but I am having a hard time blending it with the surrounding veneer because of all the tiny grain lines. Any advice?
Typically you have to get a tiny detail brush and hand paint the grain
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Awesome tutorial!!! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching
