I’m thinking of getting the g95 since it doesn’t have a recording limit. I need a camera for my podcast and the g100 only allows you to record for 10 minutes.

I also bought a used immaculate G9 but to replace a G6 and G7. I sometimes regret not getting a G95 because it has a pop-up flash and what I miss most on G9, the Panorama auto-stitching mode. For the life of me I cannot understand why a top of the range camera has these features deleted from the spec. Yes, the G9 has dual fast card slots but as an enthusiast not a professional wedding photographer, it’s of no significance and neither is the 60P 4K shooting mode.

A bit experimenting with the 300 FPS on my G92. It’s all manual focus but the focus peeking really helps . The focusing capabilities at 120 was one of the big reasons I upgraded from the G9.

I got the TTArtisan 10mm F2.0 for it at 150 bucks. Looks amazing. No distortion and no chromatic aberration, none at all. Surreal at that price point for a lens with those specs.

Camera conspiracies is really about humor, most of it derogatory -insulting camera companies as well as people, sometimes even himself. His offer to evaluate people's photos should have two disclaimers - that he will find things in the photo to insult , and that he is a vlogger and video shooter, as is not that interested or experienced in still photography, so his opinions are not based on expertise. By the way, my vision is fine and I watched this on a 40 inch tv - I didn't think the squirrel looked out of focus. Maybe not tack sharp but, still very acceptable.

With the A7R4, you should have enough megapixels to clean up the noise with NR software in post., I use DxO photolabs with my A7R5 and going high ISO isn't really a problem.

Hi, have tried video shooting in open gate at 5.8K. How is the rolling shutter performance in such a setup? My current G9 video wobbles a lot in such a scenario.

Due to having too much "stuff" I have slimmed down my lenses for my M4/3 cameras. I have kept a 45mm Olympus lens for portraits, my 14-140mm zoom for use as a telephoto lens and the 8-16mm for wide angle work. I mostly photograph buildings, motorcycles and landscapes so the latter lens is the most used lens. I'd love to own just one lens to do it all but it does not exist 😃 Thanks for your upload and good luck.

It’s tough, I am in a similar battle with my micro four thirds setup. But after a couple years I think I have an idea of nailing down how to cover my bases. 14-140mm: The I don’t know exactly my situation but this will cover my bases in most places with the gh6. 42.5 f1.2 Nocticron: My favorite lens, and is used a lot, great for low light, but like any prime, isn’t for all places. 200mm f.2.8: The sniper rifle, not used too much but is great for a long reaching shot. I took pictures of people on boats at a lake and could not believe the zoom even without tele convertors. 12-35mm f2.8: For most video and wide angle shots. Taking just one lens is tricky but you were thinking right with looking at that big ol’ zoom. It almost always comes down to taking two lenses. Telephoto prime, and zoom for the more wide angle/video stuff. I got rid of a lot of primes as I didn’t think they were worth it for the wider angle stuff as compared to a good zoom lens that can do very well what 4 of my wider angle primes were doing. In total, owning 4 solid lenses is what I am going to try to stick with as they cover most of what I do. The 200mm is kind of a bonus lens though I admit 😅 Do you use the 14-140mm on your g9 ii? It is a surprisingly nice zoom lens and is the closest do all that I can recommend/think of. Also thanks for the video/topic!

I had the 14-140 early on, but I was getting soft images, which I now know was my lack of paper shutter speed. It was a great travel lens. I sold it a year ago.

I just discovered your channel and let me say it is so refreshing to hear your prespective on photograhy and equipment. I am just coming back to photography after a hiatus from it. I am an artist and have been wanting to begin taking photos again so at least I can have my own reference photos. I totally forgot everything I learned about Photography and need to start from scratch. At the moment I own some old gear, I have a Nikon D7000, Panasonic GH2 and a Sony Cybershot RX100 II (This is the one I can throw in my purse along with my iPhone)

Based on this comparison I would never get the G100, it is always out of focus and colors are too yellow, but that might be user error, maybe you just didn’t know how to setup the camera correctly, but even if it was user error, somehow Sony managed to produce good results. It is a shame that Panasonic has not corrected its focusing dilemas because apart from that the G100 seems like a better proposition.
