  Even though David Cole remixed and altered the timbre of Martha Wash's lead vocals to make her voice less recognizable, I hear her. Her voice is clear as a bell. You can't change that!

  hey i'm from indonesia!, the melody itself called Cing Cangkeling, yes it was folk song from west java usually sing by children when the play hide and seek. this remix version that they either chinese or taiwan remixer copy was originally created by one person tjahjadi djajanata aka C2House or also known as C+C House Factory(Short acronym of Chink-Chink House Factory) the remix itself name after a series he also created sunda rhythm, though it might be possible he also got inspired by other indonesia remixer / producer dj krazy sandi track, the track itself named soonda release around 1996 and has 3 remix variation in total(funky mix, club mix and a.s.i.x. mix) though the original version of k.sandi are more toward trance with a lot of acid 303, while the funky mix are toward indonesia house sub genre but it still lack "javanese" element. the series of c2house version that i found is six in total. though perhaps it could be more, indonesia electronic genre has little if not no info at all because it's rarity & lack of documentation, even some of the remixer back in the day forgot it was their remix lol(case of dj krazy sandi).. this one is the 3rd in the series release around 1997 the track itself release on vinyl but i forgot which label it's either melon record's or Do It record, also he's one of the founder who "perfected" and created indonesian electronic genre called funkot(funky kota) based on his "house music" genre(combination of dangdut, jaipong, hard house, big beat, breakbeat and trance) plus also create sub-genre of uk hard house in indonesia around 2001 up until 2002. i hope the info help! :)
