I'm just at the point where I don't want to be a 'spiritual seeker' anymore, I just want practical advice for how to have inner peace and get on with my life. If spirituality does any good at all, it should help you so that you don't have to be constantly 'thinking about spirituality.' The shambles that I was left in after organized religion got through with me need to be put back together, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it.

We’ll add it to the list but just in the meantime…to see “the face of Christ” in the Course means that we are seeing others as who they truly are as God created them….untouched by anything the body’s eyes can perceive. Also, here’s what Christ means in the Course. It’s not Jesus - it’s…. · Christ is God’s Son as He created Him. · He is the Self we share, uniting us with one another and with God as well. · Christ is the link that keeps you one with God, and guarantees the separation is no more than an illusion of despair· Your mind is part of His, and His of yours. · He remains untouched by anything the body’s eyes perceive. I was brought up in a traditional, Christian, background, but from very early on, I had tones of questions and much that did not sit well with me. Because of this, I began to seek TRUTH, wherever I could find it, while still, being very much a part of the traditional concepts of the religion. One thing that puzzled me very early on was HOW, these messages that devolve into codified, dogmatic, beliefs; come into existence in the first place. IE: how is the REVELATION CONVAYED?! Two things struck me very early on; first - who exactly was Yeshua, and what exactly, did he actually, believe and teach and second - who and what exactly, is God. Biblical teachings are not overly, clear on this at all, particularly, the God part. Yes, I'm painfully, aware of the religious dogma it presents to us, of which we know the actual, origins of and which can pretty easily be disproven with any close, thorough, dive into the history of the faith, and which pose a huge stumbling block when faced with the cold, hard, provable, facts of Science, but I sought to go way, way, beyond this. I believe I became aware of "A Course In Miracles" sometime in my 20s and I will now, soon, be 60 in another years time. I bought the book a while back, read a little of it, then tucked it away for years. As I have continued to move on, on my own, personal, Spiritual, journey, these two, main, questions have resurfaced repeatedly, endlessly, over the years and decades, and what, exactly, happens to us when we pass from this plain of existence. The more I age the less satisfied I become with how religion, pretty much, all religion, deals with these issues, and more so than ever, with everything that has been occurring over the past few months. The God topic and what happens to us when we pass from this vail of tears are by far, the two biggest ones for me, which I feel we have not yet, even, begun to scratch the surface of. No religion anywhere, as far as I'm concerned. And Prince Yeshua may have come out of this as maybe, one of the most misunderstood Sages and Visionaries who has ever lived. Now the Course may shed a little extra light on these things, but I suspect that it too, may just barely, be scratching the surface of all that there is to be known in these regards. Personal, Progressive, Spirituality firmly rooted in Unconditional, Divine, Love, will lead the way here, and no backward, dogmatic, religion at all. Does everyone not agree? Yours in Light and Love. You’re absolutely right about how the course teaches us to have a function. It often says salvation cannot be found alone. And when it says “you” it also means you all, all the sons of god. So we can’t just change our own mind, we must also be an example onto others so that they too can say “hmm, what is this path that they are on that gives them such peace.” We don’t give or force information, but we remain an example to the earth so that when they want to ask us what Christ is all about, we are ready and wiling to share. I had to force myself to become extroverted on command because I couldn't talk to people. I was wondering: "Why did I struggle with socializing?" And I realized that there's something deeper than just talking to people. I discovered that socializing interferes with my highest values. Socializing betrays being my authentic self; it interferes with original thinking, and it takes me further away from the truth - which is one of my highest values. Socialization introduces pressure on me to conform to the values of the people I'm talking with, and to get mired in group think. I can talk to people only if I'm not authentic. Has anyone experienced this? Can I do something about it?
And when I socialize with people, I must do it consciously. I feel like I'm drained of mental energy.

Emily, how do you interpret the Course perspective on chronic familial abuse…most specifically verbal and emotional. With a person in deep denial hiding behind the church, with passive aggressive psychotic bullying on the side. And brings children into it. “Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists” has been helpful but the abuse always resurfaces. So communicating at all with this person doesn’t seem in the highest and best for either. What does the Course say about going “no contact”?
Krista - I’m very sorry to hear you’re going through this painful situation. Your question deserves far more of a detailed response than this forum allows, but I’ll just say that the Course is not asking us to suffer abuse while thinking it isn’t real. Please take care of your physical safety and the safety of your children and if that means no contact then that’s what it means. The forgiveness work is vital but long history teaches that it’s aided in many cases by distance from those we are trying to forgive. We did a podcast recently on boundaries that addressed this. First, thank you for your lovely videos. I appreciate your deep dives. As a psychotherapist for 25 years and an ACIM student for 30, I have come to see miracles as both a shift in perception and an expression of love. I experience the inner and the outer working together as a whole and the outer shift will happen once the inner shift occurs. And at times we can behave our way to an inner shift. All good conversation. In the end, all of it is about working our way to our final choice for Love and I appreciate your help with that process.
Can I integrate these teachings with what I've learned by studying the Upanishads, the Dhammapada, the Bhagavad Gita, Tao Te Ching? Coming from a Christian background, I feel like I haven't been able to benefit from non-dualistic teachings, yet fundamentalist Christianity has terrified me and pushed me away from taking certain teachings of Jesus seriously. And yet I still feel uncomfortable with 'new age' teachings and practices (like yoga) that I know could help me, because I've been programmed so heavily by western dualism. I feel like I am rattling at the bars of a horrible prison--being forced to choose between fundamentalism and materialistic philosophies such as Objectivism or Existentialism. I am so tangled up about these things that I just can't deal with them anymore...I want integration and peace.

I believe our understanding of God's wrath may not be accurate. His wrath doesn't come from a punishing and evil place. God's wrath comes from His love and mercy. All God's qualities are within the scope of His Love and Mercy. I don't believe God loves evil, although He allowed for the creation of it. It wouldn't make sense that God would love things that harm and kill His creation. In such instances, God's wrath would bring about justice and therefore express love to creation as a whole by getting rid of that which harms it. Just as a parent would do for its child. If we study history, we can find so many ancient civilisations that chose the evil path destroyed. Isn't that a reflection of God's merciful Wrath? If my understanding is wrong, please correct me. I am always open to the truth.
Hiya. Thanks for your comment. As you might expect, A Course in Miracles has an entirely different take on things. In the Course - and, honestly, in the world as we know it - there's no such thing as "merciful wrath". It's impossible for God to love all of His children and destroy them at the same time. Those things just don't fit together and the idea that they ever could has caused tremendous harm to our world. When a parent protects his own child at the cost of "getting rid of that which harms it" then it's still God choosing who is "in" and who is "out." God is love and love doesn't work that way. This is obviously an issue with many layers but I hope that gives you a start on the Course's view. - Emily ❤

However, this particular point is a roadblock for me. What can the course say about, for instance, the genocide that's happening right now in Gaza? Or how about those who carry out child sacrifices and/or trafficking? Would a loving God still love the people who commit such evil, such heinous atrocities? Wouldn't it only be logical and "merciful" of God to avenge His innocent children by bringing an end to this evil and that may require some level of wrath? Please, help me understand how this kind of wrath wouldn't be an act of Divine Intervention and Mercy. Thank you.

Thank you for this. You had me for the first three phases but when you started phase four, you lost me. I would like to see a modelling of how to be in this phase while expressing your point of view, etc. It seemed like you were saying that we must give up all of our needs and feelings and just do everything for the other person. Surely there must be a way that we can express ourselves while listening to the Holy Spirit. The way you phrased it at first seemed to me to be total self-abnegation and sacrifice and I don't think that's the answer
I addressed that by saying: This doesn’t mean that you don’t put forward the truth as you see it. It doesn’t mean that you cede points that are valid or that you don’t voice disagreement. But it does mean that you don’t try to overpower others with judgment or argument and try to force them into seeing how wrong they are. You can still put forward your points, but you’ll know you’re listening to the Holy Spirit’s Voice when you recognize that your main point is love. And, of course, if you can do that, they will know you are on their side. They will feel safe. And, feeling safe, they will be far more open to what you have to say. - Emily

Everyone involved is human I mean", we", Make mistakes.! 39:45 😢 I am spirit, Falsly and habitually identified , through and by mind. It seems obvious that it is this mind Jesus reasons with through the course. It cannot be understated, the appreciation for the value of all information possible and the story underlying it. On every level for meny reasons obvious and intuitive. I am moved to include. What is it all for ? To this, is the point that values coalesce Into meaning that transcends all seperate forms . This mind training doesn't lose its efficiency,through the studios fidelity of This loveing embrase of clarity and completeness. What is it's purpose? Experience must come to supliment the word. A univeral theology, Is impossible. A universal experiance is not only possible, but necessary . Holy relationship, Miracles , forgiveness , Vision,are all manifestation of the universal experience. And I themselves to be greatfull for,,,even within illusory forms, As they are together, And effortless,the healed dream. The course is a mirrcle. It rides on waves of love THE FATHER SENT. The real mirrcle is the love that inspired It. The HOLY INSTANT was not mentioned in this comment because of its unique capability of perfect comuncation. Along with loves meaning,it's practice doesn't diminish the value of the ,just like it's importance doesn't banish the value of course's healing modalities. The HOLY Instant fulfills them all. I'm not sure I can watch this video because as soon I am listening to it I am crying non stop and having paradoxial laugher in between. I am so emotional over this, I can barely watch one minute. My whole body is starting to vibrate as well, similar to how my body vibrated during periods of anxiety. I have leave right now, it is too emotional and intense. Idk why I'm experiencing this.
