Sheet Music Video. The worlds most beautiful music with easy to follow high definition closed captioned sheet music. Classical music is just better when you can actually see it!
I decided to start this channel after the New York music critic Alex Ross wrote an article about a madrigal with "rising chromatic steps"'. He posted a video on his website of the music accompanied by a venetian painting. My first reaction was - I want to see those "chromatic steps" and the "really ecstatic, spine-tingling event" in the video itself, not just a static image. Seeing the sheet music was almost as important as hearing the music itself. Hence my first upload: Luca Marenzio's 'Solo e pensoso'. kzread.info/dash/bejne/jH6gzJOuqZvJg6Q.html

I sang this last year as a sophomore. I was a low bass 2 (so I was the low D2’s in the allelujah section and at the end) so It was really fun!
Beautiful- Baroque done right, wonderful ornamentation and continuo !
Check these out
He must be using cor anglais here. If you bother to listen to the authentic instrumentation, the remarkable combination of the gut-strung violins and slightly "bitey' timbre of the oboes da caccia in unison inevitability bring out a more forward, brisk, involved and less lazy interpretation from the soloist. I won't give an example, there are plenty of fine performances out there which at least drag the listener out of the 19th century.

Tenebrae (Latin meaning “darkness”) is the name given to the combined office of Matins & Lauds chanted on the three days preceding Easter Sunday, that is, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. The office concludes with the signing of Miserere.

At number 47. That’s all can say.
It's a very Melodious music.
I’ve been fortunate to have experienced this through 3 avenues. 1st time was in undergrad back in 2006 at music school and the local chorus was looking to increase its numbers. So I sang baritone/tenor. Mind you, I’m a viola player. 2nd time was 2015 with a local orchestra, and I played the bass part. My hands wanted to fall off after the 3rd movement. Now 2024, I finally get to play it on viola 2 days from now as I type this. The 9th is the greatest work I’ve played. Though the hardest work I’ve played, looking at you Richard Strauss Alpine, and but definitely is a test of endurance and chops.
Im a male and i saw the clip for a boy singing this, and since i have a large range (A#2 - C#6) I wanted to see if I could sing this And I can
In 2004 I performed much of the cycle to a very kind audience
