It interests me that he actually seems to have had a positive relationship with his father and brother. He never really speaks ill of them before or after their deaths and at the very least tolerated their presence. But as soon as he realizes their deaths can advance his own station, he does so without any hesitation or guilt. Larys is a definite POS but he’s a fascinating character study.

Alicent chose Rhaenyra over her father, Otto, here because she wanted their friendship back. Alicent really tried, but the damage has already been done. This point onward, there was little hope for reconciliation between them.

Imagine being a common born man, you have no wealth, no connections, and the only thing your good at is being a warrior. So you go off to war, earn valor, honor and praise for your abilities. Then, you get your golden moment, the kings own tourney. You make it to the final opponent, the prince, the kings brother. You manage to beat him, and now your the talk of the town. Another opportunity comes, a spot in the illustrious kings guard, and the other candidates are wealthy, and as green as grass. The princess chooses you solely based on your abilities and experience, you’ve done it, you’ve reached the echelon of Westerosi society. You then fall in love with the princess, and break the only thing you have to your name, the vows you swore, then she just tosses you aside after breaking the only thing to your name. Cole really represents how much prejudice against commoners the elite really have, and also represents the corruption of power. That’s what makes him good character, horrible person, but a great character.

“You then fall in love with the Princess,” cements that he was operating in his own volition. “Tosses him aside,” is a re-write of history (and a show we all watched lol). She very much wanted to continue to see him but he would only accept under one condition: she did not accept the condition. If Criston Cole actually represented good, low-born folks, he’d know how to cut his losses and move on instead holding the grudge of a jilted lover.

She didn’t swear she was still a maiden. She swore that Daemon and her never had sex. Criston backed up those comments by revealing to Alicent that he slept with her and not Daemon

Wild how people are blaming praising Visery's for forcing Rhaenyra into a teen marriage with her gay cousin since she had sex out of wedlock. It didn't stop her from having more out of wedlock sex, it guaranteed a life time of it. He should have kept his promise to let her chose and she could have married Harwin strong. He was right to send Daemon away though.

I realize that some of the Targaryens were totally mad but my theory is that many of them are ADHD. They have the characteristics fair hair and pale eyes. It explains a lot of their behavior.

An insult for house velaryon... Girl leanor was GAY he and his parents were so glad Rhaenyra found her ways to make children that could take their name and continue their legacy through their name. Rhaenyra would have had children with Laenor if it was possible, but they're all blaming her, for sleeping out of a marriage with a gay man that still recognised those children as his.

A look of Pride, when his family just perished in a fire. No one in that court was paying attention. Anyone else would’ve been in complete despair. Ned Stark certainly was when he lost half his family.

Thats so sweet of Alicent to defend Rhaenyra after Rhaenyra got mad at HER because her own father was grooming her 15 year old best friend as a walking womb for 4 kids he wont gaf about...I'd have been done with her after that hateful look she gave Alicent when the King chose her as his wife. As if a 15 year old girl in the middle ages can say no to a total monarch. Sure, she could say no, but theyd just beat her until she said yes. Thats how they were able to marry their 15 year old daughters off to a walking skeleton if they so wished; for their own power grabs.
