Channel of Martin and Elsi Schneider. We're going to share videos about Namibia where we live (now in times of COVID-19 we don't travel and therefore we share more videos from Swakopmund). Have a great time and stay save!

Wow! Great vid... & Swakopmund is an amazingly clean, stunningly beautiful, & perfectly exquisite city...!!! BTW... I couldn't help myself & just had to calculate the total amount of supermarket items at 24:24 into US dollars... ... It converts to about $78.67. Wow!!! Namibia wins again...!!! 👍 💪 👏 🏆 🧡

@@FlatSwakop The name of the mall _"PlatzAmMeer"_ is actually German, meaning _"PlaceAtTheSea"._ There are still thousands of Namibians with German heritage. There's a daily German newspaper in Windhoek called the _"Allgemeine Zeitung"._ The Germans left a huge impact in Namibia, even after colonial rule, which officially ended in 1918. Many towns and streets still hold German names. But yeah, the language is in decline and mostly spoken at home. Same goes for Afrikaans. Today English is the official language and lingua franca.
