did you differentiate between nicotine salts and nicotine derived from tobacco ? AI makes hallucinations - which is what you were referencing

Not sure what you are asking me here. See if the below addresses your concerns: Generated by Claude AI: Nicotine Salts vs. Traditional Nicotine: A Comparison Introduction This fact sheet compares nicotine salts, used in products like Juul vaping devices and Zyn nicotine pouches, to the freebase nicotine found in traditional tobacco products. What are Nicotine Salts? Nicotine salts are created by adding benzoic acid to freebase nicotine. This process lowers the pH of the nicotine, making it less alkaline.[1] Absorption and Effects Nicotine Salts: Faster absorption: The lower pH allows for quicker absorption through mucous membranes.[2] Smoother experience: Less irritation to the throat and airways due to lower alkalinity.[3] Higher concentrations: Products can contain higher nicotine levels without increasing harshness.[4] Traditional Nicotine: Slower absorption: Higher pH results in slower uptake through mucous membranes.[2] Harsher experience: More irritation to throat and airways due to higher alkalinity.[3] Lower concentrations: Harshness limits the amount of nicotine that can be comfortably consumed.[4] Potential Dangers Nicotine Salts: Risk of higher nicotine consumption: Smoother experience may lead to increased use.[5] Less research available: Long-term effects are not as well understood as traditional nicotine.[6] Potential for abuse: Easier consumption might lead to increased dependency.[7] Traditional Nicotine: Well-documented health risks: Extensive research on long-term effects.[8] Associated with numerous diseases: Linked to cancer, heart disease, and respiratory issues.[9] Harmful delivery methods: Often consumed through smoking, which has additional health risks.[10] Addictiveness Nicotine Salts: Potentially more addictive: Faster absorption and higher concentrations may increase addiction potential.[11] Mimics cigarette-like experience: May make it harder for smokers to quit.[12] Less noticeable consumption: Smoother experience might lead to more frequent use.[13] Traditional Nicotine: High addiction potential: Well-established addictive properties.[14] Self-limiting due to harshness: Unpleasant sensations may naturally limit consumption.[15] More noticeable effects: Users may be more aware of their consumption patterns.[16] Conclusion Both nicotine salts and traditional nicotine carry significant health risks and addiction potential. While nicotine salts may provide a smoother experience and allow for higher nicotine concentrations, this could potentially lead to increased nicotine consumption and dependency. The long-term effects of nicotine salts are still being studied. Regardless of the form, nicotine use poses serious health concerns, and cessation is recommended for overall health improvement. Did the page I created yesterday answer any of your concerns about nicotine salts? You're absolutely right about the potential for AI hallucinations, which is a significant concern when using AI-generated content. As far as AI hallucinations go, I agree that this can and does happen often. I am generally aware of the topics covered in the comparisons here, and the general comments on the page are accurate to what I have seen over the past several years. It is possible though that AI can generate inaccurate resource references. To address this, I've just created a more concise disclaimer page addressing this AI limitation. Here is a link to that page: joelspitzer.wordpress.com/ai-content-disclosure-my-commitment-to-accuracy/ I've added this link onto each of the generated AI fact sheet pages, underneath the link that was already there addressing how and why I am using AI to generate these pages. That link was joelspitzer.wordpress.com/how-and-why-i-am-using-ai-tools-in-the-development-of-many-of-the-new-materials-i-am-adding-to-my-prevention-and-cessation-resources/ Regarding the footnotes, it's going to take me a lot of time validating each footnote on each page. It would be faster if I just remove the footnotes altogether, which is what I am thinking I may just end up doing. That I could get done in the next day or two. Since you are aware of the issues involved, do you have any opinion you would like to share on this issue? Do you think it's better to keep the footnotes and validate them over time, or remove them for now and focus on the main content? Your input, and that of other readers, can help me decide the best approach to ensure these resources are as useful and reliable as possible. Joel

After sending my last reply to you, I realized it was better to just take out the unverified references now. So I believe I removed them from all of the fact sheet pages. Again, thanks for highlighting this issue. Joel

Hey Joel!! Ive been watching your content for some time now, and i actually stumbled upon it as a Zyn user. I never smoked or vaped, and went to straight to products such as the gums, losenges, and eventually to the pouches such as Zyn. The ease of consumption, lack of smell, and lack of impact on the lungs is what drew me to these products, on top of the nicotine buzz/high obviously. I do think its important to spread awareness on this product, since there are A LOT of people using the pouches now. Ive been a part of the quitting zyn community since the beginning of this year, and am finally on a decent quit of 7 days. If you would like any of my own subjective information on the product, and things ive also observed with how this product effects others in the quitting zyn community, feel free to reach out! Anyways, love your content Joel!

Yes, any insights you have would be most appreciated. Also, check out this page I created for an online group a while back: joelspitzer.wordpress.com/introducing-myself-to-the-quittingzyn-sub-reddit-group/ If you are in a different group, please pass that page to the group moderators to inform them of the new resources I am developing. I am happy for my resources to be shared wherever they may do some good. While I provided direct support at that community for several months, I have since ceased direct involvement. I am not looking to get back into direct online support, but I still want moderators to know that I am available if they ever have questions or concerns. I can point them to relevant resources or create new ones if there are special requests for information I don't already cover. Let me know if I can assist you or your group in any way. Joel

It is a page that they could pin at the top for new members or people just reading there if they are interested in quitting but not participating;.

See the page joelspitzer.wordpress.com/update-to-ai-translation-and-dubbing-video-projects/ where I explain how I am using AI to dub some of my existing materials. The first part of the video explains one way I was thinking of using AI tools to translate and dub the translations that did not work out. The second half explains how I am at times using AI to dub videos though. Original article was written in 2000. Here is a link to that page: whyquit.com/joel/Joel_01_13_gradual_withdrawal.html

Since they are unregulated, who knows what is put in them. Here in Europe in Finland, you can hardly get vapes anymore. They put a halt on it in the early stages. And nobody wants to have a 30+ year nicotine addiction. Remember when airplanes had ashtrays built into the seats?... I do. We don't want to go back to that. I also remember when school busses we used to take had ashtrays in the arm support. Smh.

The most scary thing about nicotine pouches is how insanely high dosages of nicotine they make you addicted to. As a 1-pack per day smoker, you can initially get by with 4 pouches a day, and still you might feel an overdose. Slowly but surely, you end up constantly having a pouch in your mouth, many times even at sleep time. Since you are still addicted, and even more that before, going back to cigarettes after that, you'd be smoking 3 packs a day minimum.

  • @Powers3848

Exactly. I am from Sweden and we have had for decades here "Snus", which you put under your upper lip for the nicotine delivering. But it is so strong. 9mg to 12mg, it creates really a strong awful progressive addiction. Just say no. Many ppl have said that stopping Snus is harder than cigarettes, because of the high levels of nicotine.

Cravings are personal. Everyone is different... When you are ready and really "WANT" to quit, you will quit.... I tried to quit smoking several times and after careful consideration and reflection I discovered I didn't really want to quit. I was just looking for some type of miracle which does not happen... Keep Trying! When you get to that point of WANTING TO REALLY QUIT, you will without fear, excuses, and even cravings will be easier!
