Dear Nadine, I've been suffering from PD since 8 months now. I had a treatement with antibiotic, ivermectin and it went well. but then just when it was getting better, I wore foundations 3 times and bam! back on. on my forhead, around the nose, around the mouth, chin, and now also on sdes of the face and under my eyebrows! I can't wait to have my second cycle. Why does it keep getting back?! Have you experienced it getting worse with glycerin (the only thing that all my products that break me out have in common)? and also, how long after the end of the treatment would you recommend going back to your makeup and skincare routine (in my case, Violette_fr)?

I hope and pray this helps many of you suffering for a long time. I suffered from this since November of 2023. It first started small then overtook half the bottom of my face. It burned, itched and tingled. I tried almost every natural remedy which may have made it worse. I also was prescribed metro-gel for my family doctor which made it even worse as well. The only things that worked were plan greek yogurt overnight on my face to stop the itching and I purchaed canestan external cream (2% clotrimazole cream) which is an Anti Fungal. My doctor told me that if its not caused by bacteria then its caused by a fungus. It has been 3 full days and my PD is almost Entirely healed (90%). I expect it to be fully gone by day 5. Please if any of you are frustrated then try it. I apply it 3 times per day God bless.

Hi Nadine, which gadgets would you recommend for rosacea and perioral dermatitis?

omg, Nadine, I have rosacea and 8 months ago all of a sudden I develop perioral dermatitis and folliculitis. I'm still in the process of battling with it. cannot for the life of me put any foundation on (literally, not my old foundations nor pharmacy foundations), which makes it even worse...I'm desperate. I've been through a round of oral treatment and ivermectin, and my derm told me it's not finished yet, so I need to start the oral antibiotic again. Basically, we think it was treated by some cortisone injections I got for my tendinitis... I hope it stops. thanks for sharing all of this.

To be honest he didn’t really bring any amazing products out. Most products of the ordinary are just single ingredients that are shelf stable but unfortunately don’t have a good delivery system for the skin to truly benefit. It’s just a cheap skincare line… plus the founder has no real idea about skin, especially with his comments about not needing spf. Just because there’s no heat or direct sunlight doesn’t mean uv isn’t always there. Dangerous advice for people that are using their active ingredients.

Yes! 👏🏼 thank you!!! And sometimes it can appear in the outer corner of the eyes. And, once I had a very intense crisis that spread all over the body, in many spots, almost like varicella, but it was the same exact dermatitis.

I have a very rare auto-immune disease called Pyoderma Gangrenosum. This is on my abdomen. I have 4 open wounds that bleed constantly. I will have had this for 5 years in February. I have been passed from pillow to post. The condition is very rare and not a lot of consultants know anything about it. I have had consultants Google it. Then start throwing ideas but they don't have any knowledge if these ideas will actually work for me. They passed me over to plastic surgeons consultants who have told me that they can do debriding but because the wounds are tracking off and a couple have joined up. They say until my wounds are stable they will not touch my wounds. I'm getting more and more depressed because they look herendous and they are dressed daily by district nurses. They feel just cleaning the blood and putting fresh dressing's on them is not solving the issue. I have asked for a referral to another hospital in the hope that they can help me. The GP don't know how to treat me apart from constantly giving me antibiotics. This topic is something that might give other clients hope if we can find a solution for this condition.

THIS VIDEO SAVED MY SKIN! For anybody who thinks they may have developed Perioral Dermatitis after using too many actives (in my case, Tretinoin from Skin and Me) this may help you. Note when my PD started I had changed NOTHING about my lifestyle, diet, nor my toothpaste, body wash, washing power or makeup/perfume etc. Absolutely nothing. Even after I stopped using the retinoid, it would flair up for no reason, then improve, then get worse again with no rhyme nor reason. The routine which finally saved my skin (noting I am in the UK) over a period of about 6 months from diagnosis to present: 1. Diagnosis - I got this via online consultation with Superdrug as my doctor was useless. DO NOT use steroid cream if this is prescribed to you, as it was for me initially, it will not help. Following the Superdrug consultation, I ordered Metronidazole gel (Rozex 0.75%) however after just a week or so of use my PD was so red, itchy and very dry which made it more obvious and uncomfortable, so I stopped. I tried to get oral antibiotics at this stage but was rejected on the basis that my PD was not severe enough. 2. I then decided to take more drastic action to rest my skin and chose not to use ANYTHING AT ALL on my skin. This included no moisturisers, no SPF, no toners, no make up (see below), no new products of any kind (household or body) and I avoided getting toothpaste around my mouth when brushing my teeth. I also asked my boyfriend to stop using any products on his own skin just in case and I didn’t go in the sun. 3. Makeup - I didn’t use any makeup on the skin affected by the PD. By this, I mean I didn’t use any foundation, concealer or anything on the PD itself around my nose and mouth, but I did wear eyebrow gel, pencil and mascara etc. to work/special events as long as it didn’t touch my PD. I wore no makeup at all as much as possible. Yes, this was difficult because I was self-conscious about my PD, but I really felt my skin needed time to heal on its own. 4. I only washed my face with COOL WATER - this included not getting my face wet in the shower (to avoid hot water and any chemicals from my shampoo/conditioner touching it etc.). To remove makeup from the upper part of my face I used a clean, lukewarm, microfibre face cloth, and didn’t rub my face too hard. I also used a separate clean face towel to pat dry and then let my face air dry. The aim was to touch my face as little as possible and avoid irritating it in any way. I also made sure to regularly change my pillow cases and bath towels. 5. Red light therapy mask - I got one from Amazon and used it every night before bed for 10 mins. This I believe has made a huge difference. 6. Metronidazole cream (Rozex 0.75%) - I ordered the cream after watching this video however Superdrug do not offer it as a treatment option. Instead, I ordered it online from Cloud Pharmacy using the fact I had an existing diagnosis. I applied the cream liberally twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening before bed (after using the red light mask). Unlike the gel, the cream gave me no problems nor dryness. I have been using the cream for nearly 8 weeks and intend to continue using it for another 4 weeks. My skin is almost back to how it was before the PD started and I am slowly starting to be able to wear more makeup, moisturisers and SPF etc. without flare ups. I still practice most of the steps above and try to rest my skin as much as possible.

I got here because I wanted a review on the Provenance range. Precisely that of Santorini Days and ATOG. I agree about ATOG I smell a spicy note like cloves which smells divine with oranges. I agree with the middle eastern type scent. I love both of them. SD happily met expectations with the Olive and citrus scent while ATOG exceeded expectations. So glad I bought the 100ml sizes. By far my cheapest fragrances but among my favorites

I think one of the reasons why it doesn't get better is that we dont know the triggers. Funnily enough i've had it for so long and searched so much I started to notice that it is very similar to others who have had it on their eyelids and said it's from gel nails / any other LED lamp manicures. So i stopped putting anything on my nails and the pharmacy said to try hayleve which is an antihistamine and that cleared up the redness pronto. I kept skincare at a minimum because antibiotics did 0 naught nada zilch to clear it up. Did two courses of 8 weeks over less than a year and it did not help. Helped with my acne but not with the PD. Then i realized they're kinda separate and i've just stopped the antihistamines 2 days ago and im even afraid to say but so far so good. Bear in mind i've not had anything on my nails for 3 months now. I will try the la roche posay toleriane(massive fan of roche posay) the only hesitation i got is over the price. 😢
