My brother Z is going to play like he plays, no matter who he plays with. Same as if you put Dickie on an Ozzy stage….still gonna play like Dickie. I’ve seen this interview before and I really don’t care for the tone of it….especially in light of how Z (and the rest of us) worship the Brothers and their music.

Zakk is a great guitarist, but he is pretty much incapable of "matching the hatch". It'd be like Dickey playing with Ozzy - it just wouldn't work.

He's kept most of his Scouse accent - but has adopted a really weird pronunciation when starting a sentence with 'and' - it sounds like ' ayyynd' .

There was a quote George said , something like, "I try to find the notes between the notes" or something to that effect. That kind of blew me away, but it made sense.
I love this band. Seen them live many times. But yes, the cover art bordered on pornographic but more importantly objectifies women. Was it really necessary to show the butt cheeks at the bottom? Without that it would have been a sexy depiction of a woman's torso with her crotch front and center, yes still arguably objectifying but still arguably somewhat racy tasteful. The butt cheek bottoms pushed it into trashy territory IMO. Not necessary and distracts from the art. I'm a woman and not a prude. I simply prefer sexy that isn't bordering on Hustler territory.

These guys are all exaggerators. He was definitely not spitting beer everywhere, and if you listen to the recording he is totally NOT doing his usual shred stuff.
I was at that Great Woods show. Zakk said during the show that he was in an ABB cover band so he knew the songs. Also, I remember Zakk played the guitar with his teeth at one point. I doubt Dickie ever did that 🙂. My friend had "Golden Circle" tickets (when they were starting to charge more for being up front). $75 and he was pissed he had to see Zakk instead of Dickie.

I have been listening to the Allman Brothers Band since I was about 9 yrs old. I am now 40. And no Disrespect to anyone in this interview. But, listening to it, I am receptive in the fact that it sounds a little disrespectful towards Zakk....Whether I can phrase this correct?But with Zakk Wylde playing with the ABB, and helping out the band as they mentioned. It seems they just didnt take a liking to Zakks guitar playing and style. (Not a good fit) Honestly I'd have to say at least Zakk brings his own phrasing and style to the music. Versus offspring from members of a great band that were taught most likely note for note of what was originally written. People go to shows to listen to songs that represent a time and a feeling, and be played close to the original. Its something special thats for sure!! And there is not a problem with that. But dont sound slanderous in a sense towards someone that fills in as a musician that can play like a mother fucker, and play anything on guitar, Yet in his own style and phrasing. I mean what if Neil peart were to have filled in on drums for them?? what kind of result would have been suspected?? Most likely there would be the same criticism. Zakk you are Awesome love your playing and music!! The Allman Brothers Band Long Live Forever!!!
