    Noise, As for as i know there are No Visits from Council to sites like Acomb, Clifton, Bishopthorpe, Strensal. Yes it is heard abt we can not report Noise Issue. The Knavesmire Management are impossible to contact. I have personnallt tried to report issues but if weekends No Official Works at the Council. As for disturbances/Anti Social behaviour, this DOES spill out into the City ?

    The Monitoring Officer was wrong. Cllr Ayre's comments cannot be defamatory as it is a full defence to defamation to state that you are expressing an honest opinion.

    And I thought councils were cash strapped. Seems a lot of money to be spent tarting up the station entrance when if you put a bus gate outside the station could stop most of the traffic and not need all the very expensive infrastructure works.

    @andrewnelson40572 ай бұрын

    So less shelter for bus passengers and further away from the Station,, little or no shelter for those waiting for Taxis. (This is Yorkshire, IT RAINS) Removal of the cycle repairers. Removal of access to the rear entrance via tearoom Square. Restriction of goods access to Hotel. What an absolute waste of time and money.

    No mention of the possible added congestion to the Hospital car park on Wigginton Road, which already causes massive queues and pollution from standing traffic. Where's your joined-up thinking CYC?

    It must be so hard to have any genuine discussion when you are being filmed. It can only cause these meetiungs to be even more fruitless that noone can express themselves without it being published online as a video. What an awful situation for these people. So invasive & embarrassing & humiliating.

    I feel so sorry for these poeple being forced to accept being filmed and everything they do and say being published as a video. We really are living in a surveillance state.

    I think these videos are embarrassing & invasive. Forcing council staff to accept being filmed and broadcast. It is a completely unneccessary humiliation exercise because virutally noone is watching the videos.

    From what I have seen most meetings like this accomplish very little. In this time of recession we need to be more efficient. Focus on the core tasks and ditch all the pointless exercises. Especially the surveillance & digital recording of everyones sex race religion income educational history for analysis and creating graphs and reports. If there is limited money the main way to stop or reduce discrimination is to get the core issues dealt with so people dont keep angrily blaming people who claim disability benefits and people who have moved here from abroad. We need to put the blame squarely on the fact that people are being taken away from their core tasks to do endless paperwork and gathering surveillance data that is invasive. I have been to meetings like this and they are largely presentations of data which is pretty much the same every time & then people presenting what has already been decided to get a show of hands as the final box tick. £1000s are paids for people to travel long distances to these meetings and then they just sit for hours and nothing is accomplished. Sometimes there is a lot of self pampering during these events too spending a lot of money buttering everyone up to make sure they raise their hands at the right moments to approve things.

    One would wonder why the Statement of Accounts has £10,386,000 for FYE 2023 whereas the Scrutiny Report Annex page 29 quotes £9,353,705.53, 10% out. Then they go on about interest, yet this is applied in case the developer reclaims the contribution with interest (as specified in the S106 agreement)

    CYC forgot to put the long rows of bollards into this video which will cover the entire area. The kerbs also look very low which makes it less safe for pedestrians. The road is very narrow so it gives little room for one car to overtake another. 1m 38 seconds into the video.

    Doesn't seem to be much short stay parking. Considering the existing short stay is often very full this seems a lot smaller.

  • @chris15457

    This will be the consultation to legitimise the introduction of cashless parking machines in line with central Government and World Economic Forum directives. Believe it or not the Council works for the people of York and while there is anyone in the City that wants to use cash for parking payment then cash machines should be maintained. I think that's still called being customer focused.

    What a total disgrace for the residents of Queens Street. If residents do have their parking spaces removed I can see a chaotic situation arising which will continue indefinitely. Civil disobedience could also play a large part.

    There will be global starvation if fossil fuels are eliminated. At risk in coming decades will be half of the world’s 8.5 billion to 10 billion people who are fed by crops grown with fertilizers derived from fossil fuels. Getting to Net Zero by 2050 would cost $9.2 trillion a year globally (McKinsey). That's not going to be good value for money. That's nearly one-tenth of global GDP. That money would be better spent on a myriad of things including educating the fifth of humanity who are illiterate and represent a 7% annual loss to the world's economy. Any country that attempts it will be indebted or impoverished. Example: For the UK to reach net zero by electrification of its transport fleet and heating system, it will require a tripling (as a minimum) of its current electrical generation capacity among other things. This will essentially require the UK consuming all of the current global supply of copper and other rare metals for the next 25 years. The cost will be unaffordable and the skilled manpower levels unattainable. And that is just to eliminate the 1% of the global CO2 emissions that the UK is responsible for. So times that by 100 for the Earth. 10,000 child slaves in the cobalt mines of the Congo not enough for you? Make it a million. Imagine all the human suffering and environmental damage done from all that resource extraction! It's pointless anyway. In just 8 years (prior to 2021) China emitted more CO2 than Britain did since the start of Industrial Revolution that began over 220 years ago! And China plans to vastly increase its coal fired generating capacity. An electric vehicle requires 6 times the mineral input compared to a conventional one, and the carbon cost is greater until you reach 80,000 miles. Production of all of these minerals has been mastered by China: a totalitarian communist regime that thinks nothing of the mass murder of its own citizens, imagine how much it cares about the rest of us. And why are we embarking on this great net zero crusade? For what? So someone can virtue signal by driving around in a Tesla. Maddeningly, there is no climate crisis. The Earth was warmer in the recent and distant past.
