  Is this engine normally loud ? Cause im searching for an used one but i dont know if it has distribution/injector problems or if its normally loud

  @simonbenedetto4249 I don't think it's loud, relatively smooth and quiet engine. If its done around 100k miles or more, I strongly suggest getting the timing chain replaced. Common failure point. Mine snapped and I had to fit a new engine for 3.5k

  And its not THAT bad to rebuild this k jet system...you dont need a clean room just dont do it outside and get gloves, maybe some pure alcohol uneversal gasket metiearl and some youtube magic, this kjet came in alot if VW and old mercedes(just with 6-8 injectors) cars

  You need to have good vacuume for it to run better, there is a small nob under the front of the intake manafold try to play and tune it.. its not that bad to service , just get alot of intake cleaner 😅 you can (try they have inturnol small filter) cleaning the injectors in an ultrasonic, maybe put them in a jar and strong celaner you got nofing to lose it helpet my volvo.. then i had a exushte leak in the manafold gasket then it got a bit worse at startup.. hope you will get it sorted, this k-JET IS PAIN but when it works its fun trust me

  The nozzle end of the injectors have a spring loaded stopper. You can pull it open with a pair of fine tipped tweezers and wedge a small wide behind the tip to keep it from closing. I used the wire inside a bread twist the after stripping off the outer wrapper. Then try to sonic clean it with the valve tip open. I pushed injector cleaner through mine. Just set them upright and added a small section of hose to the fuel supply side. Gravity pulled the solvent through. Found this trick on you tube. You can probably locate it with a few searches. Good luck.

  I think we've seen the same video, my panic was me being heavy handed and breaking the damn thing, but if it's still struggling a bit after I put more fuel in, I'll give that a try

  thoughts on the MX5 vs volvo? have an '82 245 thats been sitting for a long time, concerned getting to back up to standard + some suspension mods may be a difficult task w/ available parts and such

  I'm a 240 my by heart. But the MX5 is a fantastic platform, completely different experiences :D If you're UK based, go to brookhouse volvo, they have enough parts and mods to rebuild a brand new car. If you're troupe based, go with classic volvo restoration, they have more than brookhouse do If you're US based, I think IPD is a good shout? Not sure though

  So hard to do anything under the car. A lot of dirt and rust! New gas tank looks freshly. So good that engine works smoothly and not vacillates. Idle looks little bit lean like seems to me but I'm not sure exactly.🤔 May be it not reached normal working temperature while you filmed. That's good B230 engine, I had one along time ago it was B230GK no any problems at all. 10w 40 oil was good.

  Now, the real question is... Did you put a new float on, or did you keep the old one. Sometimes the new ones just absorb fuel and sink. (I had this happen. I ALSO had a sender where the arm was too tight so it didn't move properly)

  Hey, when you pulled the roof lining , did you have to peel the edges of lining off the lip of the sunroof? Was it difficult to put it back in place?

  Hey! The sunroof surround lining went back on fairly easy from memory, though I've taken it back out of the car again, are you having issues?

  @@SkidsNDonuts not quite what you had in the vid - the sunroof shuts. Seals might be knackered though. The problem I have is that when it rains hard, water is running down the left side, through the trim.. it's not huge amounts but I'm petrified of taking the lining off because it seems glued on round the centre

  @@Honest989 Sorry for the late response, definitely from the sunroof? Mine leaked from the sunroof and where the wiper motor comes into the cabin. As for the lining, mine came straight out no bother, If I remember correct it was just a push fit. Worst case scenario you can always glue it back in :D If it's definitely leaking from up top, have you looked at the 4 drain pipes in the sunroof yet? They clog up easily and cause water to come in, even with the sunroof closed

  @@SkidsNDonuts got it out amigo. The roof was definitely leaking. As it turns out though, it's been leaking through old screw holes where the sun visor /wind deflector was previously attached.

  Hiya matey, there should be a clip you can slide out on one of the joints and then hit it out. Hopefully that helps?

  I don't believe there is one on the 240. However if you look at the turbo, check where the vacuum lines go and you should be able to see the boost controller
