A masterpiece by one of the greatest bands that the "Rock and Roll years" (1954/present) has ever produced. But there are "others" : Novelty, The Only Mistake and Decades are also magnificent.

Jonnie “Fucking” Marr is a sir name that could only be Appointed to a legend. He is a perfect pairing with Morrissey.

I really miss the White Stripes. Everything sounded so authentic and so much sound coming from just 2 people.

Sleep as the goer The bridge that watches the light-speed through And cries while the spirit stumbles The inside missile for the protection of you Maybe it's silent The voice can't bear anymore strain But speaks without even knowing And streams outside in the direction of truth There's no reason, there's no secret to decode If you can't save it, leave it dying on the road Wide open arms can feel so cold So cold, feel so cold Balance the books, the ledges, the loons The disappointed look on the faces that squint at the moon Let's see it, with shadows enhance And then vote to decide who'll advance Silver jet plane making a turn Exciting the brain that expects it to crash and then burn It's not the life lesson I'd have guessed If you're conscious you must be depressed or at least cynical But someone might still eat the steaks Even if they're tough Spending the day chewing the fat Floating away isn't rough, but it's not enough Oh Marianne, pass me the joint The sandpaper's tan Go-getters are surfing the point And London's a catch on the lens It's over before it begins Silk 'round her neck falls down to her shoulders The older I get, the more I suspect there's a trick But really there's no trip at all That doesn't result in a fall or a faltering But something could spit out the bait Even if it's real, rolling away, missing a spoke And close to the ground like a wheel But it's not a joke Holding the line, clutching the phone Nobly wasting the night But it isn't right It's not right Smelling for blood, praying for rain Running away isn't rough, but it's not enough The low tide is telling me, when it's over To breathe in everything exposed And comes back to cover me with a blanket Being here's always changing tunes The empty sky surrounds me, but I can't see at all Wide open arms can feel so cold And you can sit beside me and tell me what it's worth But I hope I die before I get sold I hope I die before I get sold I'd rather die before I get sold If you find the soul that you lost Frozen in a starry void Take it within and hope the sight of blood Can will signs of life to return Back to the way that it was Long before it made a noise To keep on quietly reminding you What's never created or destroyed Wake as the swell peaks The close-outs drowning the birds with roars And howls scare the new unkindness That picks and laughs at the carrion scene Forces you see Breath can always go into hiding And wait 'til it passes over Or stay far gone for all eternity

Yeah this is 100% part of an overall concept album. Even if on your own time you should listen to the whole thing it's beautiful and haunting.

Harry was known for some very sweet songs and some of the greatest vocals through the years. Listen to his biggest, Grammy earning hit "Without You." But he was also known for being a rascal, breaking conventions... and he was feeling particularly rascally when he released this on his completely unexpecting audience in '72.

You can really hear Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson *clearly* in the background on these early songs. The group was named The Supremes at the time of this release in 1964, renamed in 1967 to help launch Diana Ross as the star.

Hey @EwokToRemember I was the person who requested this song on your live stream. More from Lovage to check out would be "Pit Stop" , "Strangers On A Train" and "Stroker Ace". The whole album deserves a listen though. Also since you're a Queens fan I highly recommend checking out Kyuss and Desert Sessions, have a feeling you would like those as well.

You should check out the juxta positional bands Earth and Earthless. They are the antidote to each other. Check out Earthless, "Uluru Rock", and Earth, "The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull" from the album of the same name.

Big Star's music is hypnotic, but I love it! What went wrong with Big Star is that they were emerging as that genre of music was sorta fading. If you don't know what STAX Records was, it was the down-south version of Motown. It was known for funky Soul Music and Rhythm and Blues. Big Star (from Memphis) let home town STAX Records promote them. They didn't know how to promote Big Star and both Big Star and STAX soon failed. It was good music, it just wasn't in the right hands. Before Big Star, Alex Chilton was already known for songs he sang for the Box Tops. There was "The Letter" and "Soul Deep" among others

Right. Thank you for giving Suede a review here. This version is dodgy, listen to the version on the 'best of ' compilation. Can't believe I'm saying that, but the vocal is how it was intended on that version. The vocal on this album version is a bit cartoonish. Still a great song, but yeah. Right. Cheers to you for putting it out there. Regards.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

No one spends 20+ years making music for some dude on the internet to accuse them of being intentionally as jarring and awful as possible. Greg, their drummer, has said it himself; their music is made to dance to, eat to, fuck to, to be enjoyed. It's not this weird image in your head of some punk kid thinking they're cooler than you. You don't have to like it, but calling this a trend or an act (especially a Gen Z one, these guys are obviously at least in their 30s in this clip from a decade ago) is honestly a little insulting to me as a musician and as someone who genuinely loves this kind of music and strives to make stuff like it.

Interesting take about Moz not wanting to share the fame or spotlight. He is elusive and opaque about song meanings. As with most great artists there are layers and can be interpreted multiple ways

The lights red and white is about the colours of the bulbs of the street lights some are white some are red depending on what chemicals inside the street lights in England the main ones where red , white and yellow depends on what gas they put into the elements of the street lights .
