It may not increase your speed, but it will add to your strength and stability. Let us know after 6 weeks what you notice.

ONE MAJOR FLAW: DO NOT straighten/extend your arm BEFORE your throw the ball (i.e., during the back-motion after the hands separate). This is a biomechanical truth. This is what is causing some followers to hurt themselves. The ONLY time the throwing arm should reach a position of complete/full extension is at the point-of-release. Straightening the arm BEFORE you throw will either 1) cause your whole arm motion to be "locked" in this position and cause all the potential elasticity and kinetic power to remain "locked" as well, or 2) cause the throwing arm to bend pre-maturely, or 3) force the throwing arm to be out of timing and out of position with relation to the rest of the body. Plus, look at every baseball card/photo/video of a MLB player throwing....you will never see a straightened throwing arm during the back-motion.

Re. (150006800319101265101146). What's up? When in a position of a ball hit to the warning track and have a speedster on 1st who can run. If I want to make a close play at home plate. Is it the stride of legs to make a long one bounce throw all the way in the gap of right center. Even if I over throw the cutoff man. How can I practice strength training for quick releases and throwing power? What do you recommend? Another one that I do that I have seen help the kids work on eye drills is I throw 3 balls. The first 2 they do not swing and have to follow the ball with their eyes and head all the way to the backstop. On the 3rd pitch, then they swing. When the kids do what I ask them to do they hit the ball every time on the third ball.

In our winter workouts we have been doing the one knee drill after our cage long toss. My original intent was for it to really get the fingers on top of the ball and snap through it. So many girls push the softball and don’t get back spin. The result has been a tremendous gain in accuracy.
