“What on Earth is a cambelt?" There's a video for that too.
Have a look around and if you like.

Same just happened on my daughters Ford Ka today. Same car basically.
It looks quite a task on a small engine.Agree with changing water pump auxillary belt and tensioner whilst changing belt.It would be daft not to whilst all stripped down.
That’s good
I took 4 hrs..... 6mins is a record
Looks nice. You mention this is V6? R reg widebody in blue V6 is ultra late/ unusual. Does car have the quick steering rack?
For a galvanised car, 155s rust! Just as you are finding. I'm in process on a Q4, which is considerably rustier than your car. But think these are worth saving
Please share photos? Videos of the process
Is this part available on euro car parts?
I'm a bit late to this video but huge thanks for posting this. I have a 2014 Ford Ka which is the same engine but I have a head gasket to replace. I'm in construction and not a meachanic but have a healthy interest in mechanics. I'm going slowly bit by bit but I'm determined to get it done and this has helped massively.....thanks, Gaz.
Good luck with the rebuild, Good news is it’s a “ non-interference” engine so is a good one to learn on .
@@thorobredcars1975 If it's just the head gasket I want to change, is it the same process? Can the engine mount and top cam cover just come off or does the whole cambelt need access with the wheel off? Gaz.
Where to buy you me unit?
Very instructive video. Thank You !!
Glad it was helpful!
Same happened with my Fiat 😢
How much for this to be repaired??
This engine is very much similar to the 1,4 Fire Evo used in Brazilian versions of Fiat 500.
If you're doing an older 500 the first thing to do is clean the rear seat belt lower mounting bolt which comes out through the wheel arch. Wire brush and wd40. If you remove the bolt without doing this it will shear. Very very important to do this.
Good tip mark! I have had one snap too . Take time on that bolt people!
I’ve sent mine for repair can I still drive the van without?
This made me so nervous watching the bench shake with the cup on there lol
😂 same
How many years does a Fiat 500 cambelt last?
Up to 5 years, they say 60k to 75k miles
How much would you be charging for this service?
None of them need to be coded. The sticker means you shouldn't need to do a proxy alignment if put into the same car it came out of.
Those seat belt anchor bolts have a tendency to snap unless you wire brush and lashings of WD40 on the end of the bolt in the wheel arch. You don't need to take the rear seat backs out either.
What was the reason for the problem? How did you solved the problem ? I have the same problem.
I’m from the us one box I’ve been trying to hunt down have a 68 inch slow that silver with a stainless steal top want to find a used one but in that color is really hard to find especially in that color

Must have run it with the handbrake on or something?
Yes , but only one side.? Brake wasn’t draining either 🤷🏻♂️
Did you just use "normal" liquid packing on the water pump?
Is the blue&me located on the same side if the driver seat is on the left side?
I’d imagine it would still be on the same side as this video, but honestly I would only be guessing 🤷🏻♂️
Looks like a daily carwash user
Did you buy the box outright or you pay weekly? I’m thinking about getting one here in Australia. Wonder what the weekly payment would be
Brought it outright, Found a tool box dealer called “the tool box king” he’s over here in the Uk
hi where did you get them from at 6:30 in the vid

Great looking set up. Always interesting seeing set ups from across the pond.
Зачет! )
Why does it need to have the rubber there, it seems a very bad design as it will hold any water permanently.
We agree that it is a bad idea. After a little search around we found quite a few other people were also pointing out the problem, so it seems to be a big design flaw.
Hi, Where did you send the unit please, ive got the same problem... many thanks

Toolbox king paul. Top lad
Great video. What a pain in the arse device to get out. Would have broken something through frustration and rage if it wasn't for this.

looks much better than mine :)
How is yours doing @AlfaAlex ?
@@thorobredcars1975 Moving with small steps :) I hope in nearedst month or so it will be painted :) How are you?
@@AlfaAlex excellent ! What colour did you choose in the end ? We are engine and gearbox overhaul this month, videos to follow
اخي هل هي للبيع 🥲♥️🔥
Yes but not until next year, I have a lot to do 😅
Nice work! Im also resotring one of these..
Been checking out your page @AlfaAlex ! Great production! Keep us posted on the progress 🤙
@@thorobredcars1975 Thank you! You too, waiting for new episodes. Do you plan to film more about 155?
Yes, the videos will continue as the car progresses.
@@thorobredcars1975 Looking forward for new series!
Great video. I have flashing mileage and a battery drain as well as the blue and me not working. Can I just unplug the unit rather than replace? I’m swapping out the head unit but want the mileage to stop flashing and steering wheel buttons to work. Cheers
The flashing mileage is the cars way of saying something is not programmed correctly. If you removed / disabled the B&M it would stop your drain but continue to flash. Fitting a aftermarket radio would also cause the flash as the car will not recognise the foreign part .
@@thorobredcars1975I do not care for flashing odo, I just my car to not die after 12 hours of sitting:( where is the blue and me unit in a north America abarth ? Do you have a clue ?
Thankfully it's behind the glove box in the US model. Thank God it's not in the Rear quarter panel!!!
What a estupidez pluce to plaxe a Blue me .. i have thesame problema with my fiat punto my life 2011 i have no ideia were the unit in placed here in Portugal it cost about 1000€ completly rediculess .. saying that excelente vídeo with you well
instead of snap on whats the best alternative? in the uk since halfords doesnt do every single thing you need
Obviously MAC tools are a great choice but do not have a wide distribution in the Uk. A brand like Sealey would be a good middle of the range choice. (In my opinion anyway)
@@thorobredcars1975 sealey is my go too brand for sure
Excellent video, total professional and very knowledgeable. Thank you.
Thanks for the feed back ! Next Cam belt video will be on the 1.4 Multiair engine .
Great video. Where did you send unit? I like the fact that no coding required.
Thanks for your helpful video. I have a Fiat 500. BLUE&ME causes the battery to drain. Is it possible to disconnect the BLUE&ME from the power supply, or do I have to disassemble the panel and disconnect the connector from the unit? Thanks.
We had a similar issue with a AlfaRomeo Giulietta . In theory you could just pull the fuse , but we opted to unplugged the unit physically.
Great video mate, got this job coming up. Can diagzone diagnostics do the proxy align? My diagnostics look very similar to yours
Wheres the fuses, for blue me Located
"Promosm"
Same engine like 50 years ago 🤣
But 50yrs ago you didn't habe to remove the motor fixing to change a timing belt. Additional nowadays you didn't have enough space to work on the engine. I just did the work on this engine - what the video here shows is the minor part of it. But it was done in around 2:30h.
@@SH-ox8nl horrible we pay for bmw f31 x drive chain change 500 euro +parts 500 euro. You can chose to remove engine or gearbox 🤣🤣🤣
@@riomaririoma2167 I know - our other car is a Volvo..
Because it works and works well unlike modern engines
Lol you realise most engines in modern cars are like 40/50 years old? It hasnt been changed since then
Sweet, really nice, great set up!! Thanks for showing!!
Thanks for watching!
I think premier is a sealey brand
I have to replace this seal between the air filter housing and the throttle body, but this car is in my home country so I need the part number to buy it and take it with me. Do you have this part number? Thank you in advance.
Hello Boban. Thanks for checking out the video. The part number you need is 46528828 .
