Some notes on balloon flight, I didn't watch this live. Changing altitude does not necessarily mean change in horizontal speed. One reason for changing altitude is to find stronger or lighter winds and/or winds that are blowing in a direction you wish to travel. As they changed altitude a lot towards the end of the flight their course changed as the wind direction at the differing altitudes was slightly different.

I remember waiting eagerly just to hear this short fanfare every Sunday morning. It's amazing how much we anticipated the smallest things in the old days when nothing was available on demand. I didn't even know what is was called until I was in my early twenties. I thought it was made just for the show.

I think the "We don't know" answers on the COVID-19 "fully vaccinated" question have to do with a lack of information about time period following second vaccine. Also, regarding recoloring of the proportion chart... I'm not loving the way that Black people were encoded as brown, Hispanic people were encoded as an orange-brown, and other groups were encoded as gray. For me, at least, the coloring draws a strange comparison to racial stereotypes of skin tones, which is strange to begin with but falls apart almost immediately because no one has orange-brown or gray skin. Wouldn't it be better to choose a more random color, like blue or green, to make the findings pop? Just food for thought! Thanks for sharing this chart chat.
@JeffreyShaffer3 жыл бұрын
The dark/light orange color and the gray was simply to get less color in the viz, while being colorblind friendly, and I specifically tried to stay away from colors that might connect to race. However, I can see your point. It's not random enough, and there is a potential for connection to skin tone, so I would certainly change those colors now. Maybe leverage more red and blue. Thanks for watching and thanks for the excellent feedback on the colors.
