  The last point really resonates with me. I've had arguments with people who think ego peaking spawn when we have bomb down is a good idea because it's "unexpected". Playing post plant positions normally is so hard to deal with so I honestly don't see the appeal in hunting for kills

  playing to win is NOT fun when you’re surrounded by, as you mention, players who are not also playing to win. you’re literally not playing the same game as them because if they don’t care about the outcome of the game, the rules do not apply to them and playing for match mvp every game isn’t even a trap because of the way the ranked system works, where it rewards “individual performance” with better hidden mmr playing to rank up can be divided into two strategies -> playing for stats (in which you will gain more rr for each win and lose less, but in theory win less frequently and lose more) or, playing to win (by which your stats will suffer as will your hidden mmr, but you will win more games) playing to win should not be advised to anybody who wants to have fun unless they’re 5 stacking every game

  btw as an aside, as the first half of this video alludes to, players who match mvp every game are either smurfing down multiple ranks or baiting really hard and so either way should not be praised
