Ah "Thunderbolt" if I'm not mistaken I think this is the first film with sound that delved into the gangster genre. George Bancroft leads the way with Fay Wray as well, who was immortalized in RKO's "King Kong" just a few short years later in 1933. I have that exact blu-ray as well and I'm happy that I do. Kino has done a decent job with it, but for 1929, it's not bad. My only real criticism of the film is that there are an over abundance of prison scenes to me, but like I mentioned before it's not that bad despite the elementary storytelling and the basic nature of the plot. Keep up the good work.

I love what you're doing, keep up the good work. I have the same blu-ray from Criterion. "A Raisin in the Sun" is wonderful. What a poetic performance from the late great Sidney Poitier and also Louis Gossett Jr. has a small minor role in that film that is memorable as well. I love the film adaptation, so good. Like I said, keep up the good work, and do you have any other interest in any different labels such as Kino Lorber, Arrow, or Vinegar Syndrome? I really just collect films that I enjoy, regardless of labels, but some like Criterion and Kino Lorber do awesome work on restorations and all.

Love Bergman, one of my favorite foreign film directors. Some years back I purchased his box set from Criterion with a number of his films ("The Seventh Seal", "The Virgin Spring", "The Magician" etc.). It's so good. I would recommend it if you enjoy his work. "Fanny and Alexander" is great just so long, but worth every minute.

The 39 Steps is wonderful. One of those Hitch films that goes under the radar, Madeline Carroll is great there too. If you want a great Criterion film of Hitchcock's, check out "Rebecca". It's such an impressive film and the twist is really something. I'd be interested to know what you think about the film.

I'm one of the few who actually likes The New Mutants. I like movies about teenagers in psych wards. The first time was treat to watch but the subsequent times I watched it, the imperfections in the movie stuck out. Not even Anya Taylor-Joy could save the movie and she did alright. Maybe if she was the main character the movie could've been better.

I guess I did overspend somewhat, I got it for $60 and I think the going rate for the US version is $35 or $40. But once I buy something it's water under the bridge so I try not to feel bad about spending the money. I wish they had picked different art for that American release TBH.

I love The Princess Bride! I did a quick search for this release as your video is the first time I'm hearing about it. I notice a large number of people on reddit saying their discs are defective. Criterion is apparently looking into the issue due to the large number of complaints. The error seems to be limited primarily to Panasonic DP-UB820, some PlayStation 5 consoles, and a small number of Oppo UDP-205 and 203 players. I hope yours works for you but it would be worth testing it out.

I rewatched this movie on a PS5 and had no issues. I wouldn't be surprised if Criterion fixed the issue. But another thing to note is the 4K discs tend to be faulty at higher rates than other similar formats, a lot of people have also returned the LOTR 4K set I just bought as well as the GOT 4K boxset.

This is in English although I believe there are foreign language versions of this disc, including a Spanish language version. Those are far rarer than even the English language copy though.

Nah. It has to be legit, and I know because that along with other blu rays of classic Marvel cartoons are shown in any other blu ray dvd shop, such as Asuka the Disco Dog website. But thanks tho.
