  for anyone like me who couldnt find the KORG in the registry, just you write it yourself. click modify and write (KORGUM64.DRV). it worked for me that way after retrying so many times and not finding any korg in the registry, i only find wdmaud.drv. hope this helps someone!

  Thanks for sharing I done everything and when I go control editor I still see a list. I try reinstalling drivers. It does show midi 1 korg drivers have installed but when I goto korg editor doesn’t show is connected.

  You did a great job explaining everything and after 9 hours I am certain I followed your instructions to a T. That being said, the Register on my Windows 11 would replace the wdmaud every time I downloaded the KORG DRIVER. Returning the item seems the better choice at this point. Goal was to tie the nanoKontrol 2 as the 2nd midi along with my main midi and APC40 mk2 for use with live visuals in resolume. Any other controllers with less channel connecting issues for that purpose would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for making the best video I could find on this topic.

  My KORG folder does not even have USB MIDI driver tools folder. This is very frustrating.

  10 years later and this is still the solution 👌 My driver was first installed to midi slot 10 at first, and therefore the Kontrol editor couldn't find my nanoKontrol2.

  Oh I see my issue, I got 9 midi devices installed I see. I don't how though, I got a Focusrite audio interface and a Nord Piano 3 that's all :(

  the trick still works today in 2022 with the korg minilogue XD. I removed all Midi entries from registry , then reinstalled the driver and then midi1 and 2 were pointing on the korg drv file. then it was detected in my VST plugins. thx a Lot

  For me, the controler does connect and it is recognized by my daw as well as the kontrol editor, but whenever I try to write new config for the thing, I get a message saying no midi port was opened. Can this be fixed with this method too?

  Hey mate! I made this patch with Addictive Keys Upgright, Addictive Drums, and Stock Mainstage sounds. If you have mainstage and are happy to swap out the addictive intruments with other pianos and drums (unless you have addictive keys and drums) then I'm happy to try and find the patch file for you. Obviously it won't come with any template - just the patch itself.
