  I know this video is 11 years old, but I would like to add that you should use thread cutting oil instead of regular oil. It has sulfur in it and somehow it makes the threads turn out MUCH nicer and smoother! I know this works well on carbon steel. Never tried it with non ferrous metals.

  You can't change 1to1 the conveyor only moves when the wheel rotates in place, not happen. The wheel only rotates as the jet moves forward the rolls over the conveyor and the amount of conveyor behind the wheel is the same as the movement of the jet 1 to 1. The conveyor never moves and the plane takes off. The wheel speed matching the conveyor is the key to solve this. The plane is sitting on the conveyor neither the wheel or the conveyor is moving. Now start the jet move 1 rev of the wheel now the plane has moved forward and 1 rev of conveyor is now behind the wheel. The real question is how fast the conveyor is moving. The answer is it is not and never will. That is the trick of this question. I see now this is not a riddle, it's the definition of how planes take off from a runway with one word changed. they replaced the word runway with conveyor just to confuse everybody.

  You need to reread the question, as you massively misunderstood it. If the wheels and treadmill move at exactly the same rate the plane stays still relative to the outside world. The plane needs forward movement relative to the outside world to gain lift. The two criteria for takeoff are mutually exclusive of each other.

  @@matts1166 you are right if the plane is not moving and the wheels are turning the conveyor will start up. now you read the question. The plane is sitting on the conveyor not moving. The wheel controls what the conveyor does. The only way for the wheels to turn is for the plane to move forward. The wheels now roll down the conveyor, it moves under the wheels at the speed as the forward movement of the plane in the opposite way. There is no reason for the conveyor to start. I hope you see it now.

  @@tedfann3618 You're still missing it. The plane CAN'T move down the conveyor if the wheel's rotational speed matches the conveyor. Those two ALWAYS have to match. If the plane (relative to the rest of the world, not the conveyor) moves forward or backward AT ALL then those speeds do not match. It means the plane can't take off without breaking the rules of the hypothetical.

  The Wheel is stated to always equal the Conveyor Speed. So, W=C. By the nature of the situation, means that the Wheel speed also equals the sum of the Conveyor Speed and the Plane's real-world speed. So W=C+P. Those two equations are both totally factual and can NOT be ignored. The only way for them both to be true at the same time is if P=0.

  @@matts1166 What is stopping the plane from moving forward? The wheel has on way to turn by its self. it only turns when the plane moves forward. If you were right tell which way is the opposite way for the conveyor to run.

  Being more fuel efficient means; In a 4 stroke outboard engine, fuel is consumed once every 4 stokes and hence it burns less fuel, making the 4 stroke engine more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to a 2 stroke engine, as 2 stroke burns fuel and oil mixtur
