Dune imperium has been on my list for a while definitely need to pick that up. Hadn’t seen the fantasy realms one before and our fam would dig that. Do you recommend the deluxe? Is the calculator required or just makes it simpler?
Where are you guys playing so many games?? No way it's all in person. Karabast? Force table? Just wondering where the best place is to get all these games yall are talking about😂
Aeon’s end is such a fantastic game! Based on what you like I think you would like this too. You should try it. Beautiful design. Hugely replayable. Lots of expansions when you want more options. Just solid.
About pandemic legacy. I love all the three games. But I definitely get where you’re coming from with S2. They tried some new things and it’s a bit clunky. The writing isn’t quite as good as S1. But I feel that they learned a lot for S0. Imo it’s the best of the three. Just barely beating out S1 (which I have also played three times).
Revan is actually canon in name at least
Good job. Surprised you like Feast more than Fields. It’s almost a toss up for me I guess. Those are two of my fav Uwe games. Can’t wait for GenCon!!
Surprised you haven’t played Lisboa. That one is regarded as Lacerda’s masterpiece. A little harsh on the family games like Azul and Cascadia. I love that family weight kind of game personally. But everyone has different preferences.
@@IanM92 yeah I was probably too harsh on those, realistically I probably should have had a D tier and not Unplayable tier because I think they slot in well at C for me as games I’ll play in the occasion of playing with family but would never pick to play with other gamers. Lisboa is one that somehow has just slid past me, although I hear it’s his most mechanical game.
Clank legacy is so much fun! That was our pandemic game lol
Love the video 👍🏻 but I gotta strongly disagree with the nemesis take. That game imo is the best tension building short story telling experience I have had in a multiplayer game. We’ve had so many fun game experiences that I wish could be made into an alien movie. We like to play with an ominous scary movie soundtrack playing off of KZread in the background lol
@@Hubbabubbafett that’s totally okay! And to be completely fair, I did really enjoy the time I played it. But it’s not one I’ve felt like getting back to the table, and I think that’s why I placed it where I did, not to say it’s a bad game!
That’s understandable it is huge and complex and takes a lot of time to set up. I feel like as long as one person really has a good understanding of the rules the game play for new players isn’t too hard to just learn as you play
(Azoki here!) Super fun to hear your opinions on board games! I agree with some... but disagree hard on others lmao. That's what they call taste eh? :)
@@zors5188 I figured some of the big ones like Castles of Burgundy and Concordia would be controversial for folks 😂
@@LiterallyUnplayable Concordia is one of those I really like indeed hahaha
Does Star Wars Destiny or Unlimited rank higher for? I think I still like Destiny better but Unlimited is easier to travel with and easier to store.
@@cubsnextyear17 this is a really hard one for me. I think simply based on the fact I can go to locals and actively play games of Unlimited, it just takes the race. I hardly bust out Destiny anymore and most people I teach it to, it bounces off for some reason.
@@LiterallyUnplayable unlimited is an easier teach since it plays more like a traditional card game.
I feel like my board game journey looks a bit like yours. I used to love big heavy games with lot of minis but I am enjoying euro games much more now.
@@dokterrd this definitely was my journey, I still really like select big Amerithrash miniature games like Rising Sun, I am just a lot more selective with the ones I keep and maintain rules for.
Yeah Rising Sun and Western Legends are 2 that I tend to keep and that see play every now and then!
Some of your favorite games are some of mine as well. Love deck building worker placement games. I love Nemesis and Imperial Assault. Don’t like Feast for Odin and Pax Parmir is one of my most hated games I’ve ever played.
I really suggest Cthulhu death may die. It is one of my favorite games and killed mansions of madness.
@@cubsnextyear17 I didn’t mention it but this is probably one of my most ‘want to play’ games on the list that I haven’t yet. Because I am a huge fan of The Others: 7 Deadly Sins which runs on a similar system.
@@LiterallyUnplayable if you really like the Others then you will love death may die
I’m prepared for the hate on my controversial takes! Remember, this is just my personal enjoyment on these games, not a statement on others enjoyment!
It’s a shame that Red Dragon Inn never made this list
Blood Rage, not an S?? My heart... it hurts 😂
@@2bitcents429 I played it again after making this video and thought to myself, I probably shoulda put this in S haha
Am I going to run into any issues not inner sleeveing into a binder with multiple cards in a pocket?
If you’re not overstuffing the slots you should be okay
@@LiterallyUnplayable ok! I think I have 4 or 5 max in some cases but I might even them back out a bit. Got a binder with 3x3 pages that has my entire playset of SHD
Do you have unplayable mats for sale somewhere or are those just some special ones you made up for personal use?
We printed some last year to give away but haven’t made more quiet yet, maybe soon!
Blu-Rey is probably my favorite deck this set. So many games I’ve been at 3-5 life and ended the game winning with 18-28 life left on base. Healing is insane. I think 85% of my deck has restore
I always listen to y’all and never comment but I had to say something when I heard Mike likes Hiatus Kaiyote!! I’m glad to see there is some solid musical taste in this crew. I hope the concert was fun Mike!
They were sooooo good! Thanks for the comment <3 -Mike
If the game goes on long enough they should just do a Expanded Universe set (will never use the L word 😊) where they do all non canon stuff.
I would buy a LOT of that set...
I’m not sure Disney would allow it?
Can't wait to see you guys next week!
Big same!!!
I agree Luke Green has a bunch of new weapons that make it great. I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it
Great day when we have an Unplayable video. 🎉
Great game! Love seeing people revisit old games. There's a revival group that releases new sets every year (their 6th fan set comes out this month). They try to make it a little more balanced - you haven't even begun to see how unbalanced the original game was.
not an exclusive card games without board/token, I see...
Do you have any tips for Rey Red vs Tarkin Yellow. It cant keep up with the damage that Tarkin provides in space and it even out paces the restore. Games end on 4 or 5 mana so you cant even flip into Rey. It also gets around lot of the removal with units like seventh fleet defender and lurking tie. Rey Red felt so insanely strong until I played against Tarkin Yellow. It was so polarizing and disappointing with how one sided it felt.
@@bmxracer181 main deck 3 make an opening and hard mull for it, play it the turn they play Lurking :)
Damage: Lasergaming, so readable and ressourecful Shield: Lasergaming, even nthough Gamegenic is close but a shield token should be a circle Reminder: Gamegenic, perfect size and color Epic Action: BTST, the size is perfect for the cards, the rest is just too small Experience: BTST, double sided just wins here. Had Lasergaming made theirs double sided they would get the trophy but BTST should do something about the readability Initiative: I would go with Lasergaming as it is chunky, looks good and is readable. I don't know what Gamegenic was thinking but using the logo here just isn't cool. Thank you for the overview!
Great breakdown!
Very good choices, I own a lot of those myself. Other cool ones for this list would've been Summoner Wars, and Smash Up.
You have got to check out Pickup! It's a basketball themed deck building head to head game.
Summoner wars should have been an auto include
maybe worth mentioning that Fantasy Realms has a Marvel-themed version called Marvel: Remix!
Is there a single source of info for all the organized play layers of competitions leading to the championship? State, address, times, etc.?
Best source would be the Star Wars unlimited website. Though dates and locations for most large events haven’t been released yet.
Late to the game on this video. Sorry I missed it live.
Dune imperium is a masterpiece
100% and the refresh makes it even better.
No
Great video. A lot of interesting choices.
Still haven't gotten around to playing Radlands. Gonna have to try it.
nice been looking at Qi'Ra red to try out after playing a bunch of Qi'Ra green
Isn't it NUTS, that at a weekly local store event, if you win, you get an auto bid to day two of the biggest event of the season? I understand the game is brand new, and it won't be like this for long, but that is crazy. And I know the GC is capped, but also open, and to think anyone can go to this first one, is pretty sweet. Pokemon announced recently they are really restricting who will qualify for thier world championships. If SWU stays alive and grows, the same thing will happen.
I imagine at a bigger event and the need for judges is greater, competition holders don't pay the way for judges (gas/hotel/food) do they? Personally I hate following meta and I guess that is what most competitive card game tournaments are, so perhaps I play locally for fun with my silly decks (all Rogue One cards only, or Luke box of scraps [no cost 3 or higher]) and then go to the big competitions as a judge and get the rare cards to sell and then complete my play set.
Referring to the latest pod episode, for set two I went to six prerelease events across four stores. Largest was 48 players, smallest was 4, rest had 8-14 competitors. All of them went best of one. Most gave :45 to deck build and then :35 to play. None of the events gave out the judge promos or event exclusive Grogu cards, it was all pack per win and some gave out the spark of rebellion initiave token or a mando small tuck box. This all took place in the Kansas City metro area, and there were multiple shops who held events. Without looking every one of them up I know off the top of my head five other shops to add to the four I went to, and all of them you can get to in thirty to forty five minutes.
Forgot, two shops also gave out organized play packs. One gave out set one packs. Another shop gave out set two packs.
I’m not sure why people are keeping the pattern secret. The bad people that want to use it to scam people will be able to find it easily. I found in no time because I was curious about it. So here it is: If a card is listed in ALL CAPS it means it can be there or not. Those are legendaries. I also noticed in my case that sometimes the pattern is right pile to left pile but sometimes it is left to right. Re the discussion of the best of three tiebreakers, keep in mind that that is only for top cut games - swiss games are still double loss.
"I was on the receiving end of a very large moisture farmer...........' Not sure what to make of that statement. :)
😂😂😂
Do you have a binder in mind for which you'll use for your Set 2 Master set? I'm thinking of trying to do a Master Set myself and would like to know if you use a specific binder brand?
Hey there! Yeah for set 2 I’m using this: GrinOwl 16 Pocket Card Binder,... www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHDXYRYP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I pulled a showcase Han in the first set box. Legendaries were not following the pattern of the first set. It was very interesting.
Nice pull!
Open decklists also makes playing one ofs really strong. Your opponent has to respect X Y or Z if they see it in the deck
True!
Keeping the mapping info obfuscated is kinda scummy imo. Hypothetically it creates a questionable secondary market for boosters. I get he put work into figuring it out, but he should be open with that info for everyone's sake.
Number one rule given the info imo is don’t buy loose packs, maybe he’ll make it public in the future tho but it’s not for me to decide
Honestly, it’s not that hard. I did mine with my own boxes and you can also do it with other box openings in KZread (like this one).
@@LiterallyUnplayable ultimately its a failing of FFG, but deciding that information that harms the public regardless if it only harms the ill-informed is still malicious, unintentional or otherwise. Honestly id report this withholding of information to FFG because it has the potential to harm well-meaning customers. Its an ethical question, he gave it to you, you could be trustworthy but other he gave it to may not be. Making you indirectly responsible. Just because buying loose packs isnt smart doesnt make them any less a victim. Gambling addicts are still victims.
He’s not the only one with access to the information, he just put in the time to figure it out. As far as using the info in a malicious way, I’m not sure makes a difference whether or not it’s public info. The only thing that needs to be public info for people not to fall victim to scams is to circulate the fact that the boxes are mapped and that single packs should not be purchased. Nobody needs to know the specific mapping in order to avoid falling victim.

I’m collecting all hyperspace foil cards for every set and all showcases I don’t see a point in collecting the master set and having 4 of each card I’d rather just have the highest rarity but that’s just me
I dig it!
