  I love this hymn except for the wrath of God part, it has nothing to do with it. Read the Gospels and John Wesley, the early fathers if you're game. Forget substitutionary atonement. There was no sacrifice for sin in the Temple, only the scapegoat. Think on it, pray on it and read. God is gracious and full of mercy, God is Love.

  This is the song my two year old son falls asleep to at night and he recently started to sing it throughout the day. So precious and such a special prayer to sing over him. Thankyou for posting. Truly a blessing.

  It was such a Joy to hear you sing "Make me a captive, Lord". I wanted to share the lyrics that I knew from my teens. The second verse, which was actually the third verse was "it WANTS the needed fire to glow, it WANTS the breeze to nerve" For some reason the second and third verses were reversed 😊 The fourth verse is: My will is not my own Till Thou hast made it Thine If it would reach a Monarch's throne It must it's Crown resign It only stands unbent Amid the clashing strife When on Thy bosom it has leant And found in Thee its life.

  Can you recommend any other channels with OLD Protestant traditional hymns? I’m in my 70’s and missing my childhood hymns… His Eye is on the Sparrow, Little church in the Valley, Etc💖I wish I cd find a hymnal from that period.
