Welcome to the Laurel Fork Falconer KZread channel!!!!
I’m a Master class falconer in the good ol' state of West Virginia. I work in cooperation with Laurel Fork Farm and Laurel River Club Bed and Breakfast.
On this channel I share lots of information on falconry, the raptors used in the sport, the equipment, how to make the equipment and more!
If you are interested in the educational programs we offer, you can message me here, email me, use the website URL that will lead you to my website. We do offsite programs too! Also check out the Laurel Fork Falconer Facebook page, Instagram and TikTok! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Birds are a gift just like all creatures on this planet. They are amazing, smart, and I personally think they have emotions. Would love to see a presentation some day. I saw that you were in my hometown of Fayetteville today. I didn't know until it was too late. I watched an encounter of a peregrine falcon with one of the songbirds I feed. It blew my mind. (70's saying, I'm an old lady) It was so fast I couldn't make out what it was. He was a blur because of his speed. I watched him from my kitchen window while I was doing my dishes. He dropped from a big poplar tree to the ground and took off with his prey within a second, literally. It was unbelievable! I so appreciate the work you're doing in teaching others about these magnificent birds!
how does the lifeline work? if it fucks off do you pull it back down or what
The Creance is a light line used in the early stages of training a raptor. It is usually attached to the falconer or a nonstationary object that is heavy enough to not allow the raptor to fly away with it but light enough that it won’t abruptly stop the bird in its tracks to avoid injuries.
Where do you get the leather?
I usually get it from Mike’s Falconry Supply

Did anyone catch anything? I want to come next year when is it?
None of the birds actually caught anything but they did pull feathers and fur a few times. It was a whole lot of fun and there was some absolutely gorgeous flights! They actually have a few of them in a season so I would contact Molly and see when they’ll be having them.

We're so glad to have you and Rico back! :)
You should check out the channel afroherpkeeper
Hi i am the girl that you met at the ark today and was wondering if you would do a meet the eagles/falcons vid
Charlie Calder that is a great idea but I currently only have Rico the Red-tailed hawk. The other birds of prey that are on the channel are ones that I had a hand in helping rehab or I trained to be used in educational programs. The educational birds of prey are birds that have injuries that prevent them from being released back into the wild. I also have a Facebook page where I post a lot more so feel free to check that out.😁
That's a unique trick you did there for Rico! That's a good way to increase your hawk's problem-solving skills....if only he could get it out himself.
JeremyThePlayer88 he figured it out the day after this.
She is beautiful and huge lol...
