Inspired by the vanishing sub-genre of agricultural memo books, ornate pocket ledgers, and the simple, unassuming beauty of a well-crafted grocery list, the Draplin Design Company of Portland and Coudal Partners, a Chicago creative firm, have created Field Notes Brand, a collection of smartly-designed, vintage-styled pocket notebooks, calendars, and various office accoutrements.
In addition to our regular line of products, four times each year we create a new Quarterly Limited Edition incorporating different designs, papers, and themes.
From the very beginning, every Field Notes paper product has been manufactured in the U.S.A. From the paper, sourced from some of the finest mills in the Midwest, to even the inks used, the production of Field Notes has never required travel on a cargo ship or plane; just the roads crisscrossing the country.

I don't want to watch because I'm sad I can't buy them.
Great podcast!
How many do you make of these limited.. 500 - 700?
Love the notebooks, they wear in very nicely 😊

I recently started learning about letterpress and have never been more intrigued with anything before. I have been looking for my own tabletop platen press to start learning and experimenting.
no, it’s $120
Didn’t know the field notes founder was so cool!
I’m a recent Field Notes follower/fan/nut and i love how they are making me behave and think right now. I keep one for quotes and stuff - I just went an wrote down “Make The Grid. Break The Grid” This is such an important message for people trying to exercise some creativity. Start with some formal structure to help you lay out your idea (writing, video, drawing) and then explore ways to blur the lines and breakdown those confines. This is how I’m trying to think through my various creative tasks. It’s great to hear these stories and I can’t wait to get my next subscription…
I just came into the world of Field Notes. I truly enjoy listening to the story of each artist from the notebooks I’ve ordered. It makes my notebook extra special and a connection to my notebook. I ordered my first yearly subscription with the Flora. I’m looking forward to using them. 🤗
Lovely story.
Great video! I can’t wait to receive my first Field Notes notebooks. I ordered the three LetterPress edition packs and after watching this video, it makes it more meaningful. I will cherish them. TFS! 🤗

Love this! Glad it showed up in my Recommended
“…..in your super max cell….”, gold 😆
Thanks for posting this. It brought back a long-forgotten memory of my first job, back in the early 70s. I was a clerk in a department store, and all the weekly sales signs had to be printed by hand. We had a rack of the various letters and set the type into a holder which we then inked and ran through a manual press. I always had a lot of fun doing it. I have not thought of that once over the last five decades, but this video brought it back and the joy of the memory. Thanks for that!
My grandfather was a farmer, but died when I was only 10, all I have left are some Funk’s and Pioneer pencils. Wish I would have had the opportunity to see what else he used and save it.
Well done, Calvin and team! Your Field notes of the BWG Beckmann Terrorists' Auschwitz Camps passed the validity tests! 🤓😎😏🤣😂📰⚖️
Laura Coon's SSA had BWG TERRORISTS she hired. Bharat and Ashwini, married couple work for the Beckmann's. That's why they call India Bharat...he helped establish Auschwitz. They brought back poisons in their luggage made at Auschwitz, B&E my Howard Crossing Apt, Sharpsburg house & now Morningside with poisons & Biochemical Weapons gas/food/toiletries, vits, etc. Ashwini can't spell IT. Laura pays her over $50/hr. Resume, Ashwini and Bharat are fakes.
Calvin (U.S. Feds, EURONEXT), FBI, Congress, U.S. Intelligence (CIA), U.S. Military/NSA, Pakistan Military visited, in person, the horrific situation in Northern India where the BWG BECKMANN KILLER TERRORISTS, India, John Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, Ben Carson, Frankenstein and wife Laura Coon's Biochemical Weapons labs medical experiments located in their 'Hitler Auschwitz " death camps have, to date, murdered 500,000 people from Pakistan, northern India and surrounding areas. They made pictures of everything, documenting details in each photograph. Death to ALL of these Terrorists...and ALL Government employees of India...they are removed from NATO, BRICS...everything. No imports/exports. Nothing...in or out. My Settlement has been increased by $6 Quadrillion. This confirms everyone decides I do 100% eradication...Original Settlement sum, including eradication was $9,278,495,177,177,500,000. I'm glad everyone missed me...thanks guys&gals. Time to move into Phase II...
These are a no use pack. Beautiful. Can't wait to see them!
What an amazing shop! Thank you for sharing.
A great video! Thank you, and thank you for the amazing notebooks you guys design. I pack one as my daily carry.
Love the field notes, my daily carry.
Grandfather grew up on a farm, he used to whittle his own toys. I like the idea of gems of graphic design of yesteryear, of his generation, that were built with triangles, t-squares and x-acto knives being honored like this.
How am I the first person to like and comment on this video?? This is hilarious and I already love Field Notes, so obviously I’m gonna go buy this! And yes I do go to the kitchen to make some bacon and coffee before I put on my blue jeans and take my dog out for an extra manly walk in the woods!
How can Field Notes have so few subscribers and this video have so few views?
I can't believe nobody ever commented on this. I thought Field Notes was popular enough to draw some attention to the videos they produce but apparently not, and I can't understand why.
😭 Promo SM
I am grateful to be a new subscriber, and proud to support a USA made product. If I could say anything to the FN employees it would be a simple Thank You! Keep Up The Great Work!
Draplins whole shtick is that of a hard working, man of the people, everyman but the truth is he's a woke libtard Biden supporter. He plays off everything to make him seem like a salt of the earth Trumper but the truth is he's a liberal twat
You should make checklist journals and the weekly planner in this edition permanent like the Heavy Duty! I have the previous version of this with the blue red and white covers.
I snagged the Character and DM journals a while back, love the design and layout of the Character's Journal. Sadly, the campaign ended before really maxing out what the journal provides. That being said, I'm about to score the Monster Journal, giving the DM and Monster journals a real run for their money. Our group tends to Homebrew everything, even down to the journals with custom disc bound books, but you can't deny the level of printed detail these journals provide. Side Note: Great Ad! ;)
Only 120 views? This mini documentary is so beautiful
Still the best edition, all these years on
Definitely want one of these for my everyday carry
I want this in my house
