    I have to give you kudos for being a woman and working on this yourself. Thank goodness it wasn't the black tank. I would replace your entire plastic covering. Might as well while you're there. There are some really helpful tips on doing that here on Utube. I've got a leak in my black tank but I'm 63 yrs old and not sure I have the strength to do it. There's a lot of things I do myself, getting on the roof repairing some iffy looking places that might turn into a leak, washing my roof etc. which at my age, I'm not sure climbing a ladder on a roof is a great idea but when you're on a mixed income you do what you have to do if at all possible. Good luck! You go girl! 😊

    update. i just did this. the seal i had was an original part more than 16 years and nothing like this rubber junk which cost me a lot of effort to get centered. If you have a bad hand like me you will pbby need help because the plastic bracket things the ones that say front, are more difficult to put on . all and all not to difficult

    Thanks for making this video, it was just what i needed to learn. I just purchased my first rv and it has the same toilet. Can you tell me if i press down half way on the foot pedal...shouldn't the ball stay closed and allow me to fill the toilet with water to a level I prefer? Mine doesn't do this.

  • @FreedomChaser
    @FreedomChaser7 ай бұрын

    Thanks for watching. Yes, if you press the foot pedal down slightly, you should be able to have water come out without completely opening the ball so that water doesn't go down the hole. I'm not sure why yours is opening so much. Maybe try less pressure when stepping on the pedal?

  • @RobertBuddDwyer45
    @RobertBuddDwyer456 ай бұрын

    I tried pressing less as you suggested but no luck. Looks like i will need to troubleshoot now that i know its not working properly. Thanks for responding.

    So I went ahead and purchased the Dometic brand ball seal kit and replacement ball kit and installed both, which solved the issue I was having, not being able to just fill water only. Hope this info will help someone else having the same issue.

    What about if you're financing an RV?

  • @FreedomChaser
    @FreedomChaser8 ай бұрын

    I would try and keep the cost as low as possible if financing. Find the best quality RV you can at the lowest price possible. If saving money and getting out of debt is your goal (like mine was when I made this video), then you can only do what is best for you.

    This is odd because the PCV you had at the start is what they sell and suggest for the 1.6L and the one you wound up putting in is what they indicate for the 2.0L in the 2014. I watched another where they tune up a 1.6L in the 2014 Soul and they used the first valve you had here. It was also the valve they sold me when I ordered mine and they said the other one you had didn't fit the 1.6L so it's got me a bit weirded out for this weekend when I'm going to replace mine. Hopefully I have the right one, I'm doing PCV, coils and spark plugs this weekend.

    You probably need new motor mounts shaking and vibrating has more to do with the motor mounts especially if your at 100,000 miles. I had the same problems replCed the cv axles and had way more shaking.. highly recommend doing the trans and engine motor mounts takes alot of vibrations away and better for your motor

    I just replaced the seal on the Dometic 210 in my 2007 Discovery. It was leaking and I finally decided to replace the seal after watching your video. When I removed the bowl I found that someone had installed the seal wrong, with the thick piece on the bottom and the thin piece on the top. I installed the new parts as you showed, and all seems to be good!! We are in the fourth of year living full time in our Discovery, no home other than the Discovery. Many things have needed to be repaired on our 16 year old coach, and KZread has been a lifesaver!! Thanks so much for your video!!

    If debt is the reason for this, fear not anymore about in your decision going forward to live based on cutting costs rather than handling it as a beneficiary. You see, there is "no money out here", and what I mean by that is according to HJR-192, the United States government has provided everyone only with their signatures and no lawful replacement for handling what would be bills to pay for said debts that don't even exist. This explanation is proposing a much-needed paradigm shift in our mind regarding the bills we receive in the mail from corporations, including the United States (Inc.; a Corporation). Everything commercial in our system is actually a trust since 1933, because lawful money was taken out of circulation. After that a "bill" cannot be a bill, since they cannot "charge" anyone for anything since they know we have no money to pay for anything. This includes "charges" by so called courts and prosecutors. "Charges" are all commercial events. What we are meant to be doing is exchanging the "bills" we receive right back to them for handling it and forwarding it to the United States Federal Reserve Agent to redeem in lawful money for said "bills" per 18 USC 8 and the Federal Reserve Act Section 16 on Note Issues. I highly encourage you to research your laws more so that the decision to live this way isn't for "saving" money but rather that you are out there actually enjoying it fully as a beneficiary to your trust.
