We are a retired military couple who sold our home in the US, got rid of almost everything we owned, and decided to travel the world without having to take orders from anyone (except hubby - he has to take orders from wife!)
Come join us as we slow travel the world finding and exploring new things as we go!

Izmir looks amazing! Thanks for the introduction.
Love hearing about your adventures! Thanks for all the details.
It would be nice if you added up all the separate accommodation costs. To give a total for the month/ average per day.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm new to your channel. How do you choose which locations to visit? Also how much luggage do you carry along with you? I'm retired & considering slow traveling so I'm curious about the logistics.
Welcome! Glad you found us. We are not experts by any means, we are fairly new to this lifestyle and still learning, so we have made lots of mistakes. Initially we worried about being able to stay under budget so started in Albania knowing it was cheaper and just loved it! We lived a great life there (not worried about budgets at all) and still came under budget! As Americans we can stay up to 1 year too, so we will be going back. From there it was just a matter of moving to countries that were close (saves time and money). As for luggage, we started with too much! We now have 1 carry on and 1 backpack each. Makes moving so much less stressful! Keep us up to date on what you decide to do.
You have us looking at your formula for our next vacation
Come and join the fun of slow travel!
Hey it's me Aja, love you!
Hey Aja, so cool to see you here. Seems like ages since we've seen you. Love ya
Great Video with good information ! ( Love the new logo) 🥰 I am looking forward to the next video.
Thanks. Harry is working on a stand alone video on Ephesus that will hopefully be out soon ... watch this space!
Nice! You sure keep detailed records! When it comes to the eSIM, there are so many choices, how did you decide which one was right for you?
For detailed records I use an app called TravelSpend, and because it is on my phone and don't need wifi to use it I can enter anything we spend immediately. I can even enter what payment method we used, what category (hence the pie chart), and it even converts it for you to your own currency (so we know how close we are to hitting budget in USD). Love it. As for esim, I watched lots of youtube videos. You are right, there are lots of options, but I think most of the big ones are very similar in what the offer. We went with Airalo because they were having a sale at the time. I'm thinking that we might try Flexiroam when they have their next super sale to compare ...
@@2TravelWithoutOrders very interesting info! Thanks for sharing.
Nice music but I dint see you and the Mrs.'s dancing - you could've at least broken a plate
Next time Kim ... maybe ... lol
For first time travelers to Greece. There is a train directly from the airport to Athens. Monastiraki is probably the best place to accommodate your self. Pay that bit extra if you have to for your accommodation, it is worth it. Monastiraki is vibrant, and all the animals are there (figure of speech) restaurants, bars and easy walking distance to the sites. 3 days is enough, 4 maximum. There are no road rules and you will get ripped off. Not a case of when, but how much. So stay away from taxis. There is more to Greece than Athens. After you have done Athens, if you are staying longer, head south to the Peloponnese . Voidikilia beach is a MUST! No lounges no umbrella, so it's free, you have to bring your own and take it with you when you leave. Water is like swimming in a glass off water. Whilst the north of Greece is nice, the south has more to offer. Crete will blow your mind.
Thanks for the info. We stayed in the Mets neighborhood, great location and quiet community. We aren't in a rush, so glad we stayed 9 days as it gave us plenty of time to walk and explore local areas. We walked almost everywhere so took us "older folks" a little longer to get places! After Albania Athens driving seemed pretty laid back, but you do have to pay attention! We just made sure that we only used an official taxi that had a meter, so didn't have an issue with taxi scams thankfully. We intend to come back to Greece again in the future, so many places to explore!
@@2TravelWithoutOrders Voidikiia beach is a must. I can't talk highly enough about this beach. Not a Greek. Prague is a must. Drive safe.
Oh my goodness - yummy food and those kids were adorable. Gorgeous scenery.
Weren't they just so cute! They were so friendly too - wanted to talk our ears off when they realized that they could practice their English.
You’re very lucky in Albania, you met only the good people and reasonable priced hotels that provide you with kitchen. I lived 4 months in Tirana, couldn’t get a hotel that allows me to cook .
We met up with lots of expats who rented airbnbs for 3 months (off-season) and got far better prices than us and had full kitchens (we only could do tea and coffee etc in our hotel "kitchenette".
Looking good!
Thank you! How are you and the lovely Brenda doing?
@@2TravelWithoutOrders We’re doing great! Thanks for asking. Just going with the daily grind while we plan the next adventure and living vicariously through your travels. Hope all is well and you’re living your best lives!

Love the interviews with the kids, they were so excited to practice their English skills. That food !! I am officially hungry. Great music.
Weren't they cute? The food has been amazing! I don't think we have had a bad meal yet.

Thanks for the info, there were so many things that we tried that we didn't really know what it was other than it was good!
Enjoyed the video
Thanks Kim!
At the 9:25 mark....wow that ceiling! And the food....looks tasty!
Doesn't do it justice in the video, but just blows your mind!
Congrats Harry. Hope all is well with both of you. Cheers mate.
Thanks Pete. Will send you a message via FB IM on update. Please keep following our travel adventures and look forward to any feedback.
Thanks for taking our picture! We’re the couple in the end the video at the roof top restaurant 😊
That is so cool! Thanks for watching. Hope you had a good experience there like we did!
What a great day trip and to see so much history. I bet you stood there in just awe !
You know we did! It was a little over-whelming when you think about what has happened on this spot over thousands of years.
I love all the artifacts. Knowing what we know from the Bible about that region and the things that happened there makes it a lot more personal. Not just a tourist attraction.
It's crazy to think "I'm standing where Paul was put on trial" - blows the mind!
That place is a little different than Corinth, TX
I know - there is no bbq here! Miss you guys, even if you are a goober!
Nice. Lots of interesting things to see in Greece, the birthplace of the modern world as some call it.
And the birthplace of democracy. Greece has blown our minds with the history!
Really love all the neat places and UNESCO sites. The church is beautiful inside ❤ Miss y'all!
There are so many UNESCO sites in this part of the world, I'm not sure how we can get through part of them! Miss you too and our coffee chats - Harry isn't quite as chatty a coffee friend! Lol
It is a beautiful sight indeed! Great video!
It was extra special after meeting you guys and Colleen & Lionel - really made it special!
Great video. Really enjoyed watching. Travel on!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really miss the narrative
Yep, we're going back to incorporating. Always learning ...
How cool that you got to see so many UNSECO sites. I hope I live long enough to see all of them ☺
I hope you do too! There are so many more to see, we've only just started!
Bro, where is located Thessaloniki now (which nation)
It's in Greece.
The Albanian food is so fantastic!!
Isn't it amazing! Loved the food while we were there.
I love your coverage of where you've been. The music fits right in sync.
You are so kind. Thanks for the feedback!
So amazing! To think that the apostle Paul walked those very grounds is so awesome! And it all looks to be very well preserved for all the time that’s gone by. Incredible!
It was such an amazing time in Thessaloniki - on yo Athens!
It really is!
Nice! Hope you are eating some of that great Greek food. 🤤
Most def! The food here is amazing and hope to have some featured in a future video. Safe travels to both of ya!
Hard not to ... just as well we have to walk everywhere to help counter all the amazing food ...
Almost like taking a trip in a time machine and going back in history.
I know right it's amazing here. Next stop - Athens!
It really is amazing. Seems like every corner you turn there is more history! Just fabulous.
Wow! You’re actually walking in the area where Paul walked and preached. Amazing
It is incredible here and the fact that a lot of these are world UNESCO sites is pretty amazing as well.
Isn't that mind-blowing!? History here is just insane!
That was my first duty station out of Boot Camp, buy did it go downhill in the last 1700 years
Awesome stuff! Hope you are well brother.
I'm sure they don't hold you personally responsible for that Kim! LOL
Love the views, looks like an interesting place to visit!
It really is!
Nice images, great video. The food looked very good.
It was, just a little more expensive than Albania!
Gorgeous views ❤
Just amazing! We will have to go back again in the future.
Beautiful views. You two are glowing in this one. Love the upbeat music. 😊. Love that Greek food! 😋
It was just amazing! We will be going back again in the future.
I could easily get used to living there. Happy Mother’s Day Charlene!!
It would be a little too easy wouldn't it? Take care, Sharlene
Always a pleasure watching your videos
Thanks Kim!
Well you two are living the dream! I hope all is well and you have a greater time with each new place. Question: How far out have you planned out? Is it a very loose plan or do you like to have all the details planned out a year away? Being a points guy myself, I learned early on that to get the best deals I’d go out 11 months, book, and then monitor things to see if the costs go down. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to see where the adventure takes you!
We were just talking about this. We are booked out 2 months at the moment, but need to get better about booking further out for the deals ... so many things to think about!
There's no way you can make that budget work in the US. Did your place have a full kitchen and laundry?
Isn't it amazing how little it costs in Albania!? And that was eating out most of the time, and living a great life. If you really wanted to you could live there for way less than that! The studio we stayed at in Tirana had a full kitchen and laundry. The hotel we stayed in Saranda had a kitchenette (no oven), and the hotel did laundry for free for us when we wished.
Love the meal deals at the convenience store, and so cool that you included a pic of Punch & Judy store 😍
Got to love some Punch & Judy! LOL
Love that y'all broke everything down & gave the total for a full month of travel expenses. That's awesome! Can't wait to see your next adventures on video ❤
Thanks Natalie, we are enjoying full time travel so far. Watch for upcoming videos!
That looked like you had a great time
It was amazing, we'll be going back again sometime in the future!
