My husband is never going to cut the ombilical cord with his mother. He would put more importance on her opinion than mine. He would let her step in our marriage if she wanted to. And she always does. In every decision. Even when her opinion is not asked. She calls him and suggests him to do one thing : boom, here he is. Doing it. It's as if I was just there to breed the kids. No consideration. It makes me hate her. She is not a horrible person. She just loves it when she is in control of her son's life. I've realized I am not the one in charge of asking her to keep her distance. Her son should. But my husband is kind of inviting her to our hpusehold decisions.

Such a shame that the content of these videos is usually pretty good its Peterson afterall but fucking hate these bullshit clickbait titles. Come on... Would think that a channel called Pursuit of Meaning could do better. Its like they used chatgpt to make the most clickbaity title possible without consideration to actual content.

He gets it. I was one of those conscientious people betrayed, sheer H, I took the blame for his cheating. It is a trauma, unexpected, and it blows your house down. Know that you are not alone in feeling this way and that you will get thru it. Endless ruminating, what if's, were torture and went on far too long and finally one day it just petered out, got boring. I found when you try to make yourself think about it , boredom sets in. This is opposed to the usual 'try not to think about it' advice everyone gives which actually makes you think about it even more. Your brain has a process it goes thru to heal though it is so effing slow. Focus on getting the primal needs met and build your foundation back up eg., eat very well, quality food, tons of water, take walks out in the sunshine. Wear fav clothes, listen to good music, watch comedy films (you need to laugh), cry daily (stress reliever), borrow/get a pet. Instead of trying to control or hope for a certain outcome that you want to have happen.. let go and let the universe carry you because it will, you belong to it. You will be ok.

Honestly, I read mein kamph in high school; back in the early 80s. But NOT for the reasons most people jump to! For me, it was both "know the enemy" and an _attempt_ to understand the mind of a psychopath. It's NOT a good read! Just the ramblings and rants of a crazy man. 🙄

What point is there in the existence of god if that God allows such a horrible world in which to live for so many millions, if not billions, of people over the centuries? Wars, famine, illness, torture, murder etc, etc, etc. There is NO God. I have never needed to believe in a God for me to behave in the way that a caring, loving, humane God would want me to live. I am simply an atheist who knows right from wrong and believes in fairness, equality and justice. It appears that Jordan is on the edge of suffering a mental breakdown. He would be better engaged in plain speaking rather than the word soup of pseudo-scientific mumbo jumbo. He needs to improve his communication abilities and cut out what comes across as him being a pretentious, elitist, snake oil salesman.

To think you can get over a relationship fast is unrealistic thinking. If you find a person that moves on fast, that's because they already had someone else they were talking to in the mix. I was talking to this guy that I had already known of him, but when we ran into each and he wanted to get to know me. Within 1 week, things had taken a turn down hill. Then we didn't talk for a whole week. Going through that, no contact, he reached out to me. Then, before that week was up, we were right back in the same situation 😂😂😂. For me, only to have engaged with him for 2 weeks, it hurt me. So that comes to show you how people can have an effect on you, and it can hurt you that quick.

I keep thinking about god and thinking about praying but never done that before as I don’t know any religious people. Can someone pray for me to help me in my depression. Please

Did Cain kill his brother because he stole his birthright like Jacob stole Easu's? The bible doesn't seem to tell this particular story in that much detail. An emergent pattern though.

I never comment on any video or post, but I would like to admit to brokenness and I am currently facing this situation. I looked up how to face this situation and was glad to be met with Jordan Peterson who has always been a hero of mine. Betrayal is not hard because it comes from your enemies, but your friends. If it is one thing that I have learned growing up, it is to share your experiences and continue to move forward. Balling it up is never the solution. Anyways thank you for reading this. Please feel free to comment, any words are good ones

I’m 40. Two kids. I did everything for the family. Never for myself. I am assertive with the exception of people I care about and care about me. Disagreeableness does not mean you can’t change your mind. Also, I am high on consciousness. When I was a kid I couldn’t be bothered of what other people thought. But to get that promotion at work I had to. Now I just want to run my own business so I don’t have to comply into things I disagree with. He is correct about having kids, it changes you. I worked hard on listening to people, this way my assertiveness comes in handy after everyone speaks. If I speak first it kills what I’m good at.

I agree with Jordan most of the time. I disagree with him here. As a man that’s been married for 17 years I never understood this behavior from certain men. Not correcting her (however it needs to be done) is enabling bad behavior. These are the women that go out into society and become a nuisance to others and they never change because it’s always “everyone else’s fault”. All because you can’t grow a spine and help her understand that she’s wrong?? Women are not children. Yes they need to be corrected at times. Same goes with me. If I’m dead wrong in the way I treat people and I can’t see it I demand my wife be the one to correct me. Self awareness isn’t just about thinking you know everything.
