Welcome to the REEL 850 - We are both native Floridians living in the beautiful Florida Panhandle sharing our adventures throughout the year. Join us as we take you on our coastal lifestyle adventures fishing the local bays and Gulf of Mexico out of Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, Apalachicola, Santa Rosa Beach, Destin and Pensacola Florida. We spend almost every weekend fishing, boating or exploring a new destination, usually in the Florida Panhandle but we will occasionally take a long road trip. Thank you for viewing our channel and we hope to see you on the water or at a local establishment!

I feel the same way about triggers
Ok!! Your advice was awesome. Put a 4blade 17p on and the F300 rockets out of the hole. Love the boat. My only complaint at this point is the livewell system. We catch a ton of threads and whitebait. Some baits will die and they end up at the bottom clogging the lower drain in the livewell. I'm sure we can remedy this issue. Awesome boat. Hope to see you out there.
Great to hear! Thanks for reaching out and hope you enjoy that boat!
The dolphin fishing in Florida has collapsed, those fish would have been throw backs 15 years ago. Back then you needed to catch a 35+ pound fish to win a tournament now its a 10 lbs pathetic!
Thanks for the insight ✌🏼
حقا يوم رائع استمتعت معكم شكرا لكم
You should not disable comments on your videos. Your one where you get pulled over is dumb. You don’t even explain anything. No subscribing or liking your 💩
You let me know when you want to sale I can’t afford a new one because wow prices are crazy. I’m in the Saint Helena Island SC area
Make us an offer!
Honestly I would not know where to start. Boats have gone crazy about like the housing market
Thx for great videos and I appreciate the information on the pathfinder
Thanks for watching!
Good eating right there
Yes it is!
Good morning just starting to watch some of your videos. Loving your pathfinder. Looking to purchase one in next few months. Is there anything different about the boat that you would recommend? What’s the top speed with 4 people? Great videos btw
Thanks for reaching out! We are enjoying our Pathfinder and have taken it to a lot of places we wouldn’t have in our other boat. Couple things we would change based on our personal preferences- probably would have gone with the open to give us more fishing room in the back; third row seat is nice but rarely used since it’s usually just the 2 of us; MORE rod holders around the boat; 2 power poles. Ours is still a fantastic boat and extremely versatile. 300 Yamaha will easily run high 40’s to low 50’s with 4 on the boat in the right conditions. Good luck and we appreciate you supporting our channel!
We loved up the creek raw bar last year! Great view and food.
It was good! Looking forward to making that trip again in a few weeks!
Great video. I wish I had that kind of videography talent. We live and fish out of Apalachicola, and are finding ourselves venturing out deeper to find fish that we can actually keep. It's almost impossible to fish in the 100' range when ARS are out of season, because that's about all we catch. And now because of the closed season on the red grouper, they too are overpopulated already. They're actually running the ARS out areas that I normally catch them at this time of year.
Thanks and appreciate you watching. We are planning another trip to Apalachicola in a few weeks - running the ICW to there. Keep hearing about needing to go out deeper to catch red snapper this year. It’s a lot different than in past years!
@@thereel850 I’ve been wanting to do that run myself. Sounds like fun. I hope to see a video of the experience.
I also live and fish here in the panhandle for 50 years now. i enjoy watching your videos awesome tightlines. get her a fighting belt my wife loves hers!
Thank you - appreciate your support!
Love watchung your videos. I fish out of PCB also. Great catch. Noticed also bite if rough. I've been hitting public numbers mostly and striking out. I'm heading deeper this weekend, see what we can put in the box.
Thanks for the support! Good luck and we keep hearing the same- gotta go out deeper where there is less pressure.
Very cool video. We just watched this. My wife and I are gonna make this trip this coming weekend from PCB. Any further advice ? Thank you in advance.
Thanks for watching! We’re planning on doing it again in a few weeks too! My advice would be to watch for deadfall’s in the ICW - seems like when we made the trip there were a few just under the surface; also- only fuel is at Sippio Creek Marina; other fuel option is Mexico Beach Marina. If you’re running in St Vincent sound, be sure to use your chart - lots of oyster bars. Hope y’all have a great trip and appreciate you reaching out!
@@thereel850 Thank you for the advice. We booked a place for this week end but having second thoughts due to the forecast. I plan on sending you an email when I get a chance. Thank you again.
We have been having to run a little farther for snapper this year. When the water temp gets high and the fishing pressure increases, we have much better luck making longer runs. Live bait also seems to make a difference.
That’s what we’ve been hearing too. We’re going out to about 125 and probably need to push out a little farther. Thanks for the feedback and we appreciate you watching!
@@thereel850enjoy the videos. Y'all do a great job.
1:18....how fast were you going when you saw it on the Gramin and what transducer are you using. Thanks.
We were trolling 8mph. Garmin B60 through hull transducer
@@thereel850 Thanks for the reply. Still watching the video. Beautiful day out there.
Epic video Thanks for sharing....TightLines!!!!
That was a awesome fishing trip you two.
🤘
Great work guy's. Always look forward to seeing y'all. Rods were rockin!!
Nice work!
Thanks!
I'm in the Destin area and I've been twice this year offshore fishing and only caught a couple of Red Snappers, but I did see some really big ones at the harbor from another charter boat... Nice Bonita will make some great snapper bait.
We used it the next day and caught a quick limit of red snapper. It’s been a tough red snapper season for us - hearing that from a lot of folks that can’t get into that 130-150’ range.
@@thereel850 I'm going to try my luck this weekend fishing out of PC. It will be my first time leaving out of PC, hopefully, mother-nature shines down on us.
We are going to the Destin area next summer. We charter fished last year and had great luck with snapper. We are wanting to look for other good eating fish. Any suggestions offstage we can ask the charter to help us try for?
@@jrogers7628good luck! We may be out there as well!
@@mickeymallette2663depends on what month you go- red grouper / scamp grouper are fantastic. Also triggerfish if they are in season
Thanks, nice job🎉❤
Nice trip y'all. Wish I could get out there before the end of July. Be safe.
Wow! That was a hungry bonito! Great video The Reel 850!
Yummy
Nice redfish.
Enjoyed this video
Awesome review! Being of a shorter stature, I'm worried about the view over the console. Between you and your wife, how is that view. Any obstructions? Thank you
Thanks for reaching out. My wife says she can see fine over the console and she is 5’4”. That said, in long runs if I’m sitting down in the captains seat, I sit on a cushion to elevate my view a little more - I find the seats do sit a little low. But while standing I don’t have any visibility issues.
Awesome❤
Nice.
Was snapper season open? Gut hooked fish that are going back dead? Not cool.
Man I must have missed that part of the trip where we sent back a dead fish! We always use the state required descending device and venting tool. Thanks for watching though🤘
Hey guys, my wife and I love your video's. I am taking a job and Panama City and we have been looking to move that way. We really like the Rivercamps area. I wanted to get your guys honest opinion on the area.
Hello and thanks for reaching out! We have been in River Camps for several years now and love it. It's a great neighborhood and there's nothing else like it. We'd be happy to discuss more - shoot us an email and we will send you our contact info. [email protected]
Next time you make that run stop in to Port St Joe where the Florida State Constitution was written . It served as the state capitol until that was moved to Tallahassee . There is a restaurant at the marina and restaurants within the same distance that you covered in Apalachicola .
We plan on making that trip again in late August / September. We will be sure to check that out - thanks for the suggestion!
I’m shopping for a trolling motor for my Grady White Freedom 215. Will you make a recommendation including battery setup?
I’ve used the Minnkota Ulterra and Terrova on my last 3 boats. I ditched the Ulterra after way too many issues with the auto-deploy and went back to the Terrova manual deploy. I haven’t tried any of the other brands yet. I would recommend the 36v so you have plenty of power. I had the 24v on my pathfinder 2200 and it just didn’t seem like enough power. I’m currently using standard deep cycle marine batteries. My recommendation is to purchase a brand that has a local licensed repair shop near you because they all are going to fail / need repair. We have a Minnkota certified repair shop here in Panama City that I’ve been to at least 6 times - otherwise you’ll have to take back to dealer who will then send off to a repair shop or manufacturer when they fail - it will happen.
Nice Tennessee bucket! GBO!
Go VOLS!
Great video !!
Great video great catch 💙
Thanks!
I really enjoy your content and look forward to seeing and hearing what you deliver. In the future, can you do more of describing the rod, reel, fishing line, and set ups you are using? It really helps us rookies out here trying to improve. Thanks for what you do
I always overlook that as I assume those watching know way more than us 🤣. Yes we will make an effort to mention that and put in the video descriptions. Thanks for reaching out and appreciate your support! PS - like the Ferris Bueller handle - sausage king 🤴
Didn’t share trolling lures.
You’re right - oversight. You should be able to see those in a few of the shots- pretty simple - purple / black skirt and a pink / purple skirt. Both are standard colors for the keys. Can’t go wrong with either. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Thank you for the video, Reel!
🤘thanks for watching!
Nice video. Enjoying from Texas.
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
Awesome trip.
Thanks for taking us along on your trip. Y'all made the best of it for conditions... Good times Good friends and Good meal of fresh fish!! What a DEAL!!! 😊
Appreciate you Big Mike!👊
Great video
Another great video. I commented on a previous video about peeling the skin off of a triggerfish....well I saw another video of someone doing the same thing to a fairly large mahi. Just thought I'd pass that along though you probably already knew that. Y'all keep up the great work!
Thank you - we appreciate the info! I’ve seen the mahi skinned as well just haven’t tried it.
Great video
I live in Key Largo, if you ever want to fish here I have a home with dockage for rent.
Thanks and good to know! Appreciate you following - send the rental listing info to our email!
Just found your channel, liked and subscribed.
There are two full size beds in that room
I live near Destin and just found your channel.. Did some snapper fishing also on opening day. Caught a few keepers, but nothing really that big. Looks like you guys did well. Looking forward to the Marathon video.
Thank you for watching!
