As an American, I was awe in the different approach this Russian director took. It was a constant theme of betrayal versus honesty; and as a film lover of all genres, found it fascinating and a gateway into Russian and Eastern European culture and thinking.

Had the US (and the WEST) NOT sent FOOD they would have not been able to feed that Army of millions. Without Ford, Dodge, and Willy's truck they couldn't have supplied those millions. I do not deny the regular Soviet soldier any honor, other than they raped hundreds of thousands. Not all of them did it. Just read SIR Beevor's books. It took help for Russia to break up the German Heer. Heer means army in German. The Wehrmacht means the German defense/war group including the Heer(or army). English speakers deny to follow those facts. I jave learned so much from the German Diaries released, at least in terms of their thoughts about hitler, and other leaders. They are fascinating.

A lot of nuggets here to digest and good ones and even though one cannot expect everything to be noted it is a shame there was no mention of Stalin's move to sign the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact 'voila' World War II. The reds intentionally delayed invading Poland from the east until 17th September as Khruschev cynically but correctly noted, since the Germans had first invaded on 1st September, '...the Germans will be blamed for starting the war..." Also no mention of the move by Stalin in seizing No. Bukovina (Romania) where a rail line was direct to Ploesti as well as the laundry list of outrageous demands Molotov handed over to Ribbentrop and Hitler on his (Molotov's) visit to Berlin November 1940 as the switch that began to move Germany to look east as their real threat. No Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact no war.

Pushkin on the subject, on aug 2 1831: What do you raise an outcry over, national bards? Why do you threaten Russia with Anathema? What stirred you up? The throes of Lithuania? Desist: this is a strife of Slavs among themselves, An old domestic strife, already weighed by fate, An issue not to be resolved by you. Long since among themselves These tribes have been at war; More than once has bent beneath the storm Now their, now our side. Who will prevail in the unequal strife: The haughty Lech, or the trusty Ross? Will the Slavonic streams converge in the Russian sea? Will it dry up? That is the question. Leave us alone: you have not read Those bloody tablets; To you is unintelligible, you is alien This family feud; Mute to you are the Kremlin and Prague Unthinkingly you are beguiled By the valor of a desperate struggle - And you hate us . . . And for what? Reply: is it because On the ruins of blazing Moscow We did not acknowledge the insolent will Of him under whom you quaked? Because we hurled into the abyss The idol heavy-looming over kingdoms, And with our blood redeemed Europe's freedom, honour, and peace? You are menacing in words - just try to be in action! Is then the old thane, resting on his bed, Unfit to raise his bayonet of Ismail? Or is the Russian Tsar's word powerless by now? Or is it new to us to be at odds with Europe? Or has the Russian grown unused to victories? Are there too few of us? Or will, from Perm to Tauris, From frigid crags of Finland to the flaming Colchis, From the shaken Kremlin To stagnant China's walls, Flashing with steely bristle, Not rise the Russian land? Send then to us, oh, bards, Your sons enraged: There's room for them in Russia's fields, 'Mid graves that are not strange to them This one seems close to the original Russian text but you can find other translated versions online by looking up "slanderers of Russia", for example, the 19century "Why rave ye, blabbers..." which the w: page points to

In an era where the world has to stand united against the climate crisis and loss of biodiversity threatening the survival of humanity this should be passed to the hands of historical scientists.

Keep in mind, that Shulman has absolutely no clue what she is talking about. To give you a bit of idea - for several years she keeps telling naive liberal youngsters that "putin is afraid of them", "we are the power here", "russia is about to become a democracy". At the same time, russia has turned into a complete totalitarian fascist state, putin is stronger than ever before and a lot of those naive girls and boys who were brave enough to protest are in prisons, while mrs. Shulman sits in European comfort, not risking her own life or even wellbeing, and keeps telling her sweet lies to her audience. Not only that, she also believes that russian occupants should be forgiven after russia is defeated. She dares to say that even after what russians did - mass raping, torturing and murder. Shulman is an utterly incompetent, stupid and shallow person and speaker, so please don't buy any of the narratives she desperately tries to push in the West.

Russian liberals, as well as Western oligarchs (who invested a lot of money in Russia, without looking back), are also to blame for the establishment of a completely fascist obscurantist regime in Russia . People like Kasparov, Piontkovsky have been warning you for years about the dangers of the Putin regime, and you called them alarmists, Russophobes, and so on. The West, as usual, slept through the threat. And the insane Putin regime is much more dangerous than even China. And I still see fools in the network who consider China the main threat, and Russia a secondary one. What can I say, fools are still living in captivity of the illusions of the 90s. Economically, China is certainly stronger (let's not forget that it is thanks to the constant injections of the West that China gained its power), but in terms of the degree of media influence on society, in terms of the degree of propaganda, Russia is now ahead of the rest of the planet. The population is pumped up with hatred for everything Western 24/7. We all understand that this is not done just like that. In principle, the population of Russia is already preparing for the Great War. In terms of insanity, the Putin regime has left even Iran far behind.
