TLDR: Newsletters are a valuable business model with potential for growth, and by treating them as a real business with multiple ways to monetize, it is possible to grow a profitable newsletter organically without using ads. 00:00 📧 Having a newsletter is imperative for any business as it allows direct access to consumers and control over reaching end clients. 01:42 📈 News sources are too focused on clickbait and polarization, leading to the rise of newsletters as a business model with potential for growth. 02:51 📰 Newsletters will become more valuable, but the continuous need for new content and low barrier to entry may lead to a graveyard of newsletters. 04:20 📧 Newsletters should be treated as a real business with multiple ways to monetize, starting with info products and moving on to premium memberships for continuous sales. 06:10 💡 Creating an info product and premium membership can generate high sales and sponsorship revenue, while affiliate links, ancillary channels, and branded merchandise can provide additional income streams and engage subscribers. 07:48 📈 Start a free newsletter, offer small products, then add more expensive products and additional revenue streams to grow your subscriber base and revenue. 09:06 📧 Reach out to contacts individually to join your newsletter, share ideas through social media and cross-promotion to grow your audience. 10:54 📈 Growing a profitable newsletter organically without using ads is possible by selling high-priced info products to a large subscriber base, even without knowledge of using social media ads.

Hi Trent, I watch a lot of YT and I have only commented on two videos ever. I have been at a career crossroads for a long time and this opportunity has gotten me more excited than I was when I got in the mortgage business. I would love to learn more about this business but I want to learn from you. I like the way you get to the point and without always having a sales pitch. I hope you read this comment and can provide some kind of help or more information as to how your venture is doing and how to replicate it. Stay awesome.

TLDR: Growing a successful newsletter requires consistency, genuine interest, organization, authenticity, and leveraging contrarian thinking to build and maintain a large audience, with the potential for unexpected opportunities and profitability through M&A. 00:00 📈 Growing a newsletter from zero to ten thousand subscribers is exciting, but reaching fifty to a hundred thousand requires more controls and work. 01:02 📰 Consistency in content creation is crucial for a successful newsletter, and the "three c's" system helps ensure consistent content without burning out. 02:38 📈 Research the market and find a large audience, create a newsletter only if you are genuinely interested, and keep chasing your curiosity by talking to others. 04:27 📝 Keep notes on interesting conversations and ideas, organize them in Evernote, and use Notion to plan and share content with the team. 05:26 📰 Starting a successful newsletter can lead to unexpected opportunities, but expect pushback and set boundaries while focusing on authentic content driven by curiosity and finding your voice. 07:36 📰 People connect with contrarian thinking because it's entertaining and provides actionable ideas in a simplistic way. 08:30 📰 Newsletters are powerful for building an audience and leveraging it for success in various endeavors. 10:04 📈 Acquiring existing newsletters through M&A is more profitable than organic growth, involving running acquired newsletters and transferring subscribers to the new newsletter, all within legal business frameworks.

Fabulous thank you Trent! In my experience there are two kinds of people: 'employees' and 'business people'. Both have different mindsets, so if you are (or think you are) a business person, have a go - you'll come to learn which type you are.

Hi Trent, I follow your "Fly with Trent" channel and was checking out Bright Ideas and Flowster when I came across this video. I'm not sure if you would have any advice for me or not, but I thought I would put it out there and see what stuck. I have started 2 businesses and burned out quickly on both. I had a wild hair idea to move to Alaska from Missouri and started "Alaskan Network Security" doing premise security systems and my business partner still runs this business. I sold him my shares and moved back to Missouri where it was warmer. The draw was really the bush flying up there, and I hoped the business would help pave the way. When I came back to Missouri, I started a musical instrument building business called "Snowbird Banjo Co (banjos specifically) later expanded into general Luthier repair. I was doing all the work, and was burning out quick. I went for 7 years before I was done. There were other circumstances to warrant this, I was taking up half my house for a shop and we needed a house, the business was severely limited on space, and many more issues which have led me to shut it down. I have attempted to sell the assets and the branding but I have had no luck. All the assets are setting in storage right this moment, it's a ready made business, but I have no location, nor money to open a location. I've lost the drive to make anything of it and instead have been trying to figure out how to get into flying for a living. I am not sure I am meant to be a business owner, and if I am, I don't need to be the one making the widgets because I burnout quick and have a hard time pushing through. So any advice or thoughts you could give to this? Currently, I have no income, my land is paid for, my truck is paid for, I don't have a lot of debt except a 20 year old student loan and a couple of lowes and home depot credit cards that I've not been able to pay off. I've been thinking of getting back into IT but I am currently remodeling my house as a result of the shop move so we could have rooms for the kids (as well as ourselves). My wife works and we get by on very very very, little. I'm tired of just barely getting by, but there's only one of me, If I go to work at any job, I can't finish the remodel which is needed for our family's sanity. So .... yeah, there it is.

Absolutely! Hiring a virtual assistant can be a game-changer for productivity and cost-efficiency. 🌐💼 It's all about leveraging global talent and optimizing your resources. However, you're spot on that the key lies in the hiring process, task delegation, and well-defined processes. Finding the right VA and setting clear expectations are essential for a successful partnership. 🤝✅ It's a smart move toward business growth and personal balance! 🚀🕰
