    Excellent points. I liked the idea of an upgrade to a chest zip - I thought it would be easier as the zip is at the front. As an 85kg broad shouldered lean man, with tight shoulders, I could not get the suit on (in the shop). Tried next size up, an XL. "Help!!" Have now ordered the O'Neill - Epic 5/4 with Back Zip !! Looking forward to this upgrade.

    My daughter hates this suit. The zipper is too short, and it is so complicated to get in and out

    The fusion's insides don't get fully wet on mine, so your body warmth doesn't warm up the wet inside all over. The suit is still newish so this may diminish over time, or you can just let water in yourself through the neck and up the sleeves and legs. The first surf it wasn't actually that warm because of this, but it improved with following surfs as the rubber loosened.

    Would you recommend the O'Neill Hammer 3/2 wetsuit for UK summer? I've got one on the way and very eager to try it. The water I'll be swimming it ranges from about 13-19 cecius

    Wish O'Neil kept at least one woman's backzip 3/2 in technobutter. With limited shoulder rotation their chest zip is tough to deal with. I also don't like the choking tightness around the neck that it causes. Guess I'll keep my Psycho One for a few more years. They still offer it in men's and its too big.

    I have a flash bomb E7 and it is the most difficult suit to get in and out of. I literally can’t get in or out with out help. It’s ridiculous. I’ve never had a suit so tight before. Once it’s on, it’s great. But it’s useless to me, as I can’t use it if I want ti surf alone.

    Mine was like this, very frustrating considering my dawn patrol MT was the perfect size on me then I got the flash bomb in the same size and can barely breath in it or get the zip pulled over 😩

    So, i just tried a wetsuit on and I'm basically showing the world what's down under in the crotch area. Is there a swimsuit with something like a foam cup padding for the crotch, that way I'm not offending the women and children around me?

    My Flashbomb aged terribly. Would be nervous to try another at the kind of prices they are asking. My next purchase was a n X el which was pricey but aged well then a RC Dawn Patrol and really made me wonder if I am being a mug buying the expensive gear. The cheaper suit out performed the others in every department. Good to lnow if youre on a budget and worried youre going without.

    Need a suit for fishing cold weathet water, tired of wadders lasting 2 years and then leaking. I fish winter months in the 15-40 degree outside temps. And also beach fish in the winter. Just want a better option than wadders

    How’re you finding November down in Bournemouth! It’s already feeling cold in Cornwall. Maybe the coldest autumn-winter transition I’ve felt in a few years! I’d be keen to know how long it’s been until you’ve started wearing boots and how long your surf sessions are. Cheers Kaz

    The 4/3 feels more like a 5/4 because the lining is so thick and it gets heavy as well. They really went overboard with the tech but I think they over did it, although it should last many seasons. I have had less restrictive 5/3 suits that were just as warm. Other than their comp series I don't see the niche for this suit. With a hood, boots, and gloves you could wear this (4/3) down to about 11c though. The smooth skin panels are also very stiff.

  • @OliverHaag
    @OliverHaag7 ай бұрын

    And what will you do below 11 °C which is the case for most windy days for the next months around here? Wearing a suit that is meant for 0-10 °C when surfing at 11 °C and above only is a case of using the wrong equipment, it's got nothing to do with anything being overengineered 🤦‍♂

  • @jamesroscoe7555
    @jamesroscoe75557 ай бұрын

    @@OliverHaagYeah, though it may be a difference in levels of personal comfort thing... I usually just wear a 4/3 with no boots, gloves or hood in 11 degree water unless the air is much colder. But I am from a cold climate and prefer to be cool in a lighter flexible suit. I have the 6/5 for winter (water temps around 0c) and it is toasty, but obviously not light weight or super easy to get on and off. What I do really love about Xcel is the comfort of their chin sections on the hoods. That alone keeps me coming back to Xcel for winter suits.

  • @OliverHaag
    @OliverHaag7 ай бұрын

    @@jamesroscoe7555 Have bought the Hooded Drylock 5/4 for flexibility reasons a week ago, only tested it around 10 °C once now and it was comfortable even after 4 h and it didn't restrict movements much so I'm quite happy with it so far. Will see how it handles the -2 to 0 °C this weekend if the wind forecast is correct, sounds like a good weather for a real test 😁 But I don't have problems with cold weather too so I guess it should be fine. The summers getting hotter and hotter are more of a problem but when surfing you can at least jump into the water 😎

    Hi My chest is 110cm, waist is 82cm. I bought size M which feels too tight on my chest as size M chest is 99-104, but waist fits perfect. If I to change it for Large, chest should be fine, but waist will be too big as L waist is 84-89. What do you recommend, change for loose waist, or hope for chest/shoulders to stretch? Note, I only tried it in a room, I heard it loosens up in water too
