Curious, where'd you get the source material for this? Wikipedia? Seems very simple. Have you ever been to these battle sites?

To think the Po-2's 5-cylinder radial engine had only 130 horsepower. That's about the same power of a Toyota Corolla. And the witches did more than a lot of Soviet pilots who were flying Yaks, Pe-2 bombers and IL-2s. They were truly amazing.

Hello, I am writing to you from Finland. Finland owes about 3,000 Estonian soldiers. They are called "sons of Finland", they came across the sea to help Finland in the winter war, and in the continuation war. Their story should be made into a song, Finland could thank Estonia, and the sons of Finland. The Soviets hunted them down when they returned home. They lived in our forests... some until Estonia was liberated. They had the motto "For the freedom of Finland and the honor of Estonia"

As I get older, the horrors that humanity can achieve strike me more and more. Regardless of your beliefs or creeds or nation, we're all human. Remind yourself to love your neighbor every once in a while. Lest we forget.

Hey Indy, go find yourself a hard cover version of the book. Go on, I'll wait. I went looking for a new printing (again, hardcover) and the newest edition I could find was the 1935 printing. I just hope it survives my ownership long enough for me to finish reading it.

Hearing this story, what hit me so hard was it was an act of humanity. It doesnt matter how much history I study and learn, and what side I take, there are these moments when humans, men of honor, and sometimes women, where a singular moment they set aside the conflict and allow life to live. I believe its God speaking to people in these moments. Saying it is not their time. Its beautiful.

That’s just as brave beyond virtue that it can get; when those men know for certainty that they have death knocking on their door, they decide to do one final charge and go for it. Story worth telling. If this was during the Vikings, they’d be in the Halls of Valhalla where the brave are remembered

4:50 - yeah, taking over capital would and had enraged Poles to a degree that even Canadian would say: "I know that I treat this whole Geneva bullshit as a suggestion, but dude, please chill a little bit" From historic records, Polish soldiers did not only fight for themselves and their country, they wanted to erase the other side from the face of the earth (and rightfuly so). Shooting down German plane during Battle of England? Nah, as long as they can recover a dody, it is not enough.

Fun fact that just became public, with Poland getting the American F35 Poland has designated them Hussars. Literally “The Winged Hussars” arrived. I’m picturing a programmer in ether Polish military or skunk works writing a program that blares winged Hussars into enemy aircraft communications making it impossible for them to coordinate and communicate lol
