Amazing skill, strength and balance. You've just managed to do a whole drill in the time it takes me to put a spray deck on and seal launch! I'm starting out on my kayaking journey with my local Scout Troop providing lessons. Your drill is a great way to build confidence. I like the idea of building up to rougher water and also the timing element. It'll definitely help me improve. I'll check out some other videos on this channel.

Ja dat is correct, strand en duinen is natuurgebied. We vertrekken daarom uit de haven, en landen enkel op het strand net buiten die zone. Bij schietoefeningen (was het geval nu niet) mogen we er niet varen.

Gunna send this to me mate Gra who fractured two ribs when things didn't go right on a wave a few days ago ; he didn't complain and, then did an unassisted cowboy re-entry in the swell before finding out he had the fractures - like me we're just starting off in the surf - have a lot to learn from the likes of you You'll have to come to Australia, be my guest and teach us, lol Thanks for posting

Hi Kathy, Please send your friend our regards and a swift recovery! Yes, the surf is addictive but also something to be carefull in. The waves won't stop because we capsize. Best is to start very slow, on small waves (about 50cm) and build up. The fun factor is equal to big waves, so don't worry. Greetings from the other side of the planet!

I have only tried Surfing on an Ocean Kayak Malibu 2 sit on top. Spent more than half of the time being thrown off. Brilliant fun. Hopefully I will be more successful with my Tourer. That was one heck of a save when the wave pitched you over and I was not expecting to see you then rolling back up as the wave dissipates. Lots of Skill and Practice. Brilliant video.

Thank you! We also started with a sit-on-top kayak back in the days where we had the same story as you in surf.... but as long as you have fun, you are learning out of each capsize. So keep going! It is all about training. And it is possible to surf a sit-on-top kayak. Have fun and be safe!💪😎

The fish are relatively ignorant around here though and if you can't see them, they can't see you. Taking the yak around an island in Rockport, MA tomorrow 06/08/24 looking for Tautog and Striped bass. Wish me luck!

Not at all, just the standard ones. Should do the trick, but we tested this before the exercise, just to be sure . The decklines are not the problem, but the bolts need to be well placed and sturdy.

Although a very serious piece of training, that most of us will probably never get to take part in. That looked like a blast. what an experience.
Cheers Simon! It was incredible! It's been the 4th training with such a big ship, and we're never get used to, but in a good way. Stay tuned, we did another rescue training past week.... in a very different way! Still need some time to do the editing!
Impressive exercise, great learning experience in all directions, one assumes, and very interesting to see the mechanics. You guys definitely had fun jumping at the end - that was slightly high 🙂
Hi! Thank you! We tried playing with different cameras and perspectives. To be honest, it was the highest launch/jump we did until now (about 6m)? On previous training it was mostly about 4 metres.
